I'm having the same issue and said the same thing. The threads are improperly aligned to the handle on this model. I have several BruMates and this is the only model that does that. They say oiling the seal helps to allow it to be turned more for proper alignment, but it still makes it VERY difficult to unscrew the lid for refilling.
Appreciate the explanation as to why it is a bust for you. I'm debating purchasing one and look for positive and negative reviews and you took the time to check instructions about how to put the lid on and still didn't work. This is very helpful.
I had the same issue, instead of making a video about the issue I contacted the company. They provided me a suggestion, I tried it and BOOM it worked! First line of "defense" shouldn't be creating a post on social media, repeating yourself numerous times, try contacting a business first 😏
@@MrBriguy519 When I contacted BrüMate they asked me to take the gasket off the lid, flip it over and put it back on. Lid screws on perfectly aligned now.
@@susanrodriguez7127 here was my solution. Bought a Hydrapeak. A little tight in the cup holder but happy with it. 1/2 the price. www.amazon.com/Hydrapeak-Roadster-40oz-Insulated-Stainless/dp/B09W4DSX34/ref=dp_fod_1?pd_rd_w=ZZmsN&content-id=amzn1.sym.10168032-b141-4c53-8385-6387ee8d5b2d&pf_rd_p=10168032-b141-4c53-8385-6387ee8d5b2d&pf_rd_r=EPWYA8TVQR9XQNYNMPDE&pd_rd_wg=t2VwR&pd_rd_r=e82580b6-ab6d-41a6-adbd-b90ad726e9cd&pd_rd_i=B09W4DSX34&psc=1
