So glad these videos are still up, my love for this mans cooking is huge. He passed just after my wife in 2021, I made many of his dishes for my sweet little girl and she loved them. RIP to both of you, you both will be in my heart forever...
I hate I just now found this gentleman ive really enjoyed this video ani hope he rest in peace and I'm also very sorry for the loss of your wife. I couldn't imagine losing my wife of 44 years I pray every night the good lord will take me first and I know that probably sounds selfish but really don't know if I could make It without her here
R.I.P Daddy Jack...you will always be LOVED & EXTREMELY MISSED in Mobile Alabama. DADDY JACK WILL ALWAYS BE MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE RU-vid CHEF!!! I learned so much about cooking & I know I am a better cook because of this GREAT CHEF!!! Much love from Mobile Alabama.
This man knows how to cook. I’m a Chef, and sometimes we get caught up in pretentious BS. This man knows flavors and his experience is evident. Keep up the good work!
This man is a gem, so sad to hear of his passing. I have followed so many of his recipes that have improved the lives of everyone. One of my favorites is the spaghetti with white clam sauce, I have made it often, and is always a favorite dish for my family and friends. I wish the family could create a cookbook with all of Jack's recipes in honor of this man. That is one book I would definitely buy... make it happen... PLEASE!
This is the first Daddy Jack I have watched since his passing. I miss his uploads. I think it’s getting dusty in here now my eyes are watering. Vaya con Dios Daddy! Thanks from.St. Paul Minnesota.
@@favidcooljay4862 Pretentious nonsense. If you look at the great French 'chefs' for instance they all come from a rural rustic cooking background. There is little difference between great cooks and great chefs apart from the latter knows how to dress food up in a hotel or upmarket restaurant.
@@favidcooljay4862 not cool at all, dude. This guy is a master and has passed on. And, if you freaking think the difference between a chef and a cook is quality of food, you are more foolish than your comment. The two titles have nothing to do with quality of the food.
Daddy Jack ! Miss this Man so very much. I'd barely subscribed 3 years ago, then heard the news of his passing last year. Real Food. Real Man. His Daughter's videos on his life and passing were a thing of Beauty. Beautiful Souls simply reside. I'd once read a tome on chef's responsibilities to be everything to their customers. BS. Daddy Jack is his own person. His passion speaks for itself. Great human. Someone who chose to teach others to appreciate his closet of knowledge. Thank you for that Daddy Jack! Beautiful Souls, simply reside... sharing their passion, without judgment.
I'd kill a bottle of wine waiting for my meal to be prepared by this guy and I'd be fine with that. I've seen lots and lots of his kitchen videos. He's a pro.
Hello from Brunswick, GA. It was great watching you make Brunswick Stew. I’m originally from Northeast Georgia where we use smoked chicken, pork, brisket, corn, potatoes, tomatoes, ketchup, bbq sauce, and pats of butter. We then emulsify the mix using a blender and top it with pulled pork. Some people here like onion and some don’t. Y’all come see us. Please keep making great videos.
looks great! Here in Mississippi, if we want it a little thicker, we add cream corn instead of whole kernel corn. A little cayenne pepper or bodie and Tiger Sauce to taste.
If you use cream corn, add it at the end and don’t leave the pot. The cream corn is sweet and will sink to the bottom and scorch. I have ruined several pots by burning creamed corn. That’s why I only use kernels now.
@@treyward4480 add it at the beginning with your tomatoes and keep on stirring. Takes some work, no shortcuts. If you burn it it's your own fault brother.
People today don't know nothing about traditional Brunswick Stew, back when it started People didn't have refrigerators or freezers and they hardly had leftovers if they did they would put them in a ( safe) with leftover biscuits to eat between meals. Meat was usually eaten at breakfast . My Grandmother and Granddaddy used fresh meat, pork and chicken and vegetables they canned in their Brunswick Stew. Now for years restaurants have used leftovers to make use of things that would go in the trash, good business since, but they should name it something else. My Grandparents were born in 1892 my father was born in 1922. I don't believe people without refrigeraton made this stew with leftovers, my folks made it in a large cast iorn wash pot and canned it in quart jars, it was delicious. Your a great Chef, and thanks for sharing.
I haven’t watch this video since 2020 I went through cancer treatment for six months and I watched every video he had up to that point got me through tough times
I never subscribe to anything on youtube. Never really had a reason to. But after watching this mans videos, his passion for cooking, his realness and his heart and soul poured into every meal, I had no choice but to subscribe for more. Thank you and keep up the good work! -Love from Canada
One of my favorite recipes here in Virginia. Clean out the freezer of deer, doves, rabbits squirrels or whatever else is in the freezer, cook it down till the spoon stands up in it and go to town. Awesome recipe and love this guys passion for cooking.
OMG,Daddy Jack . . . this Brunswick Stew looks fantastic. Can hardly wait to re-create it in my own kitchen. Keep up the GREAT work that you do. You are appreciated! .......Rob.......
YesssssSirrrr!!!! Gotta have some butter beans. One of my neighbors uses butter beans, green beans, and white kidney beans along with corn, carrots, onions, garlic, celery, potatoes, and chopped kale for the veggies.
My daddy was from a little town called Metter Ga, and that is not Brunswick Stew, but I must say I have to try it because it looks, and I know it smells wonderful. My first time watching this man, just knowing he us a great cook, only to be saddened that he has passed. I always miss out on the good things in life.
Bin watchin your videos for years now... am totally convinced that you are without a doubt the best cook on the internet... I salute you..!!! Your passion comes thru... very original. very good..
My grandpa used to be in a Brunswick Stew Association herein Phoenix AZ, back in the 80's. It was a group of old codgers who'd get together with a keg and a kettle and everybody would show up with an ingredient. It would simmer all day as they added stuff. What a good time.
Grew up in Brunswick, GA... I know there are a lot of variations on brunswick stew but I grew up eating the real thing. I'm sure it tastes great, but we'd call that vegetable soup with a biscuit on top.
To all those who have been blessed to have eaten his cooking, I am jealous. I have made several of his dishes watching his videos and they turned out very delicious. Good bless his soul.
whenever daddy jack shows up in my feed i still gotta click...miss you buddy thank you for all the great recipes, videos and memories. your family is lucky to have had you while they did and my thoughts are with your family
My family is from Brunswick/St. Simons Island, GA, the home of Brunswick Stew. No, sweet potatoes do not go in it. You need more veggies: corn, peas, potatoes, green beans.
I must have Smellovision because my mouth is watering! Oh no, it’s just your cooking as usual! YUM! Holy heck that would be great on a crisp Autumn evening, with garlic biscuits and Fresh apple pie for desert!
I came across your channel a couple of months ago and now it is my nightly routine to lay in bed and watch your videos. I am from a little town in south Georgia called Enigma and Brunswick stew has always been a favorite. If I'm ever within a 300-mile radius of Connecticut best believe I'm going to come eat with you. Keep up the good work!
pretty sure the recipe I made back about the same time Jack last made this had baby lima beans and it gave my stew an amazing texture .. ready for Fall and Football
Brunswick County, VA. will dispute the origins of this stew. The VA. version usually contains 3 different meats and is cooked and stirred constantly until it is a thick paste. Local non profit organizations sell it for fund raisers. Love your channel!
This is my kind of cooking. Don't follow a strict recipe, don't waste your time measuring anything, just throw in whatever you have that's going to make it taste good. It may never come out the same way twice, but it will be something new and delicious every time.
Rely. Your more than welcome to say in Edinburgh were I stay. I have upmarket property’s. So no problem for staying. It would be on me it will cost you a home cooked meal? Let me no if interested bud. Johnathan Edinburgh Scotland 🏴 👌
