Oh man I went through all of this with my Summit, tried to make it a bashing machine. Had similar upgrades: brushless, metal drivetrain, rpm, everything that was breaking I was replacing with a top metal or plastic part. After all the struggle I realized that does not matter what you do - Summit was not originally meant for bashing and will never handle hard landings. I ended up putting it on a shelf and getting myself an xmaxx 8s. PS: I had MIP driveshafts snapping too, upgraded to HotRacing - they are much thicker. PS2: The 'OverVoltage' problem that you mentioned can't be OVER voltage ( you might have it if you connect 12s to a 6s system). Most likely it was Under voltage (when batteries voltage dropped too much) OR overheating issue.
Been enjoying my Summit stock for a few years now. Just had it out climbing the snow and ice piles in negative temps and it was flawless. Definitely going to follow and watch your upgrades.
If you ever have a problem with the 17mm hex adapters get some that are 3d printed in nylon carbon fiber. It's extremely strong, and can take a lot more heat then the ones you bought. Its what i print for all my rc parts with
hey buddy been watching your videos a lot hope to be getting a summit soon its 2nd hand so need batt can you tell me the batt tray dimensions so i can get some thanks. have fun and bash on.
Thanks for watching the videos! The dimensions are hard to know 100%….you can go about 6 inch long up to 6.5 if you remove the foam block at the front of the tray…about an inch to 1 1/4 height and 1 1/2 to possibly 1 3/4 inch total width
I’ll try to shake things up a little bit….sorry to hear you’re tired of the Summit content…it’s one of my favorite trucks, probably why I film so much content with it…also in the winter not many rc cars are good in the snow in unlike the Summit
