Yes i have done this too. Castle motor mamba 2 esc. I toned it down with the software because you will eat diffs if you go full speed. The input gear is the weak spot. Wish there was belt drive diffs.
Warren is a great beach, some things to watch for, if you go more power than 4s, with those composite diffs and carriers, the material can warp and you'll have more bearing maintenance (and unfortunately they use pretty small bearings and they can come apart pretty easy). Also, on the esc settings, you'd probably want to keep the startup on the softer settings (especially if you have a particularly torque-y motor), I've twisted the shaft that holds the spur gear on mine a couple of times (once even with the stock 775, lol). Otherwise, just have fun.
Goog job. My Summit will be 10 years old this year, and I'm considering a brushless upgrade. You make the process seem much less complicated than I thought it may be. Thank you.
I put a max 6 in i have two motors i can ues 1400kv and a 2200kv and can run 8s but it Brakes on 4s im dun running it it's fragile im putting it back to stock and selling it !
@RCKnockout another question I have is how do you do a cooling setup on the stock setup? I'm guessing you have to rig up a fan to run to the ESC and put a heatsink and fan on the motor. And how would you keep the lights work8ng with all that there are only 2 channels open and neither powered a fan I plugged one in and nothing.
Im curious if the summit can handle brushless when not bashed hard. Part of me wonders if the whole "if you upgrade to brushless shit will break" is due to people bashing hard with brushless
6s is a no-go diffs will explode 4S is doable but Slipper needs to be adjusted correctly or the diffs will explode been there done that. It's such a great platform just a shame that the differentials are trash. Way undersized for the weight of the vehicle. lol
Hi, With which motor did you upgrade the Titan775 I've got a Summit as well and I'm interest to know about the new motor, and also is it possible to run with 2 s battery glad to your feedback
Not looking for more speed....its not a Emaxx or Xmaxx. I'm looking for more run-time while retaining the low-speed control. I'm going to go with a Mamba Monster X and a Holmes-Hobbies sensored 1/8th Puller Pro 4274S. It has incredible low-speed control and(I don't know how John designed it to fit in a smaller can)a 1/6th size rotor. It has a calculated 3hp on 6s. I'd never run it on that tho. Even unplugging the sensor wire it's really smooth.
I gotcha….whatever works best for you man……I thought about a sensored brushless setup but I I decided to buy another Summit for crawling that still retains the stock system….I’m trying to build this one to be more of a high speed machine…..I’m trying to make it capable of standing up to 4s power…the weak diffs are the issue though
@@RCKnockout you'd probably have to take off all the fun stuff like selectable lockers and spool both ends to get it to hold up better to power....unfortunately. Keep us updated on what you doing.
@@tomlucasrccrawlers9108 well I exploded the spider gears in the diff…I’ve already got hot racing spiral cut diffs in it…and I just put some gpm steel spider gears in that rear diff so we will have to see if they can hold up
