Are you able to toggle "always run" off and on? For some reason I cannot get it to work. It works in GZDoom and Brutal Doom and other mods but I can't get it to work on Black Edition. In order to run I have to hold down a key attached to run and it has to constantly be pressed to run. Very annoying.

Press ~ to open the console and type turbo # where # is a number between 10 and 255. 100 is the default player speed, so if you wanted to move about 25% slower you could type turbo 75

I'd like to have all those features, but with Ultimate DOOM classical levels only, not Brutal DOOM WADs. I don't like the sequels except DOOM (2016).

Just install beautiful doom. Thats all you realy need for gfx mod. But anyway, doom 2 is the easiest to mod game ever.
