i own the rock red himalayan and i absolutely love it. Overtaking other vehicles when they slow down at bad patches puts a smile on my face, i just stand on the foot pegs and roll effortlessly.. too much fun
I'm an Aussie and have a 2020 Himmo in Lake blue,,,exhaust,booster plug and air cleaner,,,love it !!,,,105kph I feel ok with but don't push it harder,, but to me it's 100 smiles per hour
Pretty good review. Answers all my comments esp in terms of comfy cruising speed and foot position. Not many ppl realise it, but slightly fwd set foot pegs make a hell of difference to long range riding comfort - esp for taller folks of 5'10" and above
Nice review. I have a Himalayan and I absolutely love it. I agree that the sweet spot for cruising is about 80-90 kph. Here in the States everyone wants to go super fast, but the Himalayan is the best combination of practicality, price, off-road/on-road, etc. I can carry all the gear I want for an extended trip easily.
@@soorajtr6692 -- I've ridden in rain many times and there have been no rust issues with my bike. I don't keep it outside, though. It's always in the garage. Maintenance is very easy. I do it all myself and I am not a mechanic at all.

Go for the xpulse man, definitely the best choice for city rides. Highway rides are okay, as long as you don't do serious long distance, say more than 300 kms. Xpulse is a breeze in city- low kerb weight, lesser maintainance. Its almost like a damn dirt bike!! Always have the option of sidewalks when the roads are too crowded,, *wink* *wink*
I own a bs4. These are excellent tourer bikes. Two I issues I'm facing are foot pegs as strell mentioned in the video. Sometimes after few kilometers at a strech I would feel the strain on my knee areas. Although that'd be matter of individual's height/legs length. Second thing is rider seat's width. It gets narrow towards the tank. Irritating and gets uncomfortable below the but cheeks during long rides. But I believe this can be solved by changing into wider seat mould which you could get online. I recently got one from seat concepts. Will see how it works out. ✌️
ho lee fook and end up coming down to 1st gear in traffic and also it stops in pure off-roading as it doesn’t like to go slow. KTM should have tuned the engine but kept same duke 390 tuning. Himalayan can go in 20kmph speed in 3rd gear which is easy in tight traffic and also comfortable seating than KTM.
is a very good touring motorcycle package considering all the extra's it comes with as standard that would otherwise be accessories. I found 90 kph it was happy at all day confortably without being too stressed. Via trail bags are a good addition for extra storage for day to day items you need like-hat, sunglasses-some tools-my chin guard off helmet-visor cleaner-chain grease-etc. Or you may want to use the frame beside the tank for supporting extra fuel. I used soft luggage on mine-Hepco Becker C bow system from Motorcycle adventure products. Cons were the side stand too long so not enough angle especially when you end up on uneven ground (very hard to find a safe place to park without it falling over.) Itchy boots had the same problem and shortened her's. Ambient gauge is totally inaccurate when engine running, should never have being placed under the tank but behind instruments. In some cases the compass needs re-calibrating which mine did from new but was fine after that. Tappet adjustment should be checked fairly frequently as mine was out after just 5,000 km, you can tell by the un-even idling. Carb version needs re-jetting as they run very lean to meet emissions but are virtually un-rideable. It's pretty straight forward to service, with everything easy to get at and not difficult to do. As I understand the tappets are simply adjusted with feeler gauge-screw driver & ring spanner. Air cleaner easy to get at behind L/H side cover. We don't have the BS6 in NZ yet but the cat converter on the header pipe looks hideous.
Hi Strell, just one question , can it cruise comfortably at 100? I am not concerned with wind blasts but is the engine stress free at that speed? I have been riding the 350 cc REs since long time so just want to ask is the engine capacity same or a bit improved (in real life and not just on paper), are the increased bhp and torque figures really felt while riding the bike at the speed of around 100? Dominar250 vs Gixxer Sf250 vs Himalayan2020 Purpose : Mostly frequent touring and little bit of fun reving the maching every now and then. Would do 250kms(1 way) trip most weekends. @Strell - Please provide ur opinion by taking the below aspects into account. Which of these would be a better overall package? Comfort, Handling, Road presence, Mileage and Maintenance. I know the D250 is not officially launched but since the bike is almost similar to D400 not expecting major changes except the mileage part.
