RM is the leader because he is the most qualified, not because of his English nor him being the first BTS member. Jhope is the 2nd in command, the BTS' vice leader and Performance Captain.

@@mg2030 As far as I can tell, second-in-command/vice leader isn't an official designation. But RM has mentioned before that hobi is someone that BTS cannot do without and that, as a leader, he relies a lot on hobi to support him in his duties.

@@mg2030 It's not an official title nor a designated responsibility, it's something BTS members have described in multiple ocassions... RM thanked J Hope for helping him too... For supervising their dance practice behind the scenes, for revising their mistakes, for helping him with the mood of the room, for his input at the end of discussions... Hobi simply has natural leadership abilities. It's something that happens naturally.

J-Hope is mesmerizing to watch. His body movement and facial expression during performance always get me. I’ve never been to their concert because I’ve only been Army since last year but I read a lot of comments that when you leave their concert it’s either he’s your bias or bias wrecker 😃

Oh yeah, definitely. I had the privelege to see this man live, and i'll tell you that: it's like watching the sun, shining bright. His stage presence is insane, the way he smiles while performing... it can cure everything! Yoongi is my bias, but from that moment on, I understood the power of J-hope. (Sorry for my english)

This song is a masterpiece, J-Hope's dancing and his facial expression is out of this world, you can see his passion and it's very captivating.. and the one in the beginning was RM speaking, he's usually the one who narrated in the beginning on many of their tracks in the Wing album. It’s RM speaking - RM is the leader for several reasons but mainly because the team was created around him, he was the first and the others were chosen to join his team. This entire album is about temptation - it really is a masterpiece. Hobi killed this comeback trailer.

In the Wings era, BTS were exploring the area of temptation, greed, the concept of good vs evil, darkness vs light, corruption vs innocence. It isn't necessarily linked to their real lives. This and Blood Sweat and era are part of that.

One of the inspirations for the Wings album was the book Demian (Author: Hermann Hesse). In the intro, RM was reciting an excerpt from the book. One of the subjects is temptation indeed. Once again you were spot on. This whole album is a masterpiece.

Going down this rabbit hole of K-pop with you I never thought I'd really come to love these guys. I really prejudged them as just a pop "boy band" (my bad) but these guys are legit Artist! When you can gain fans from different age groups and demagraghfics that takes some doing. So yeah, they won me over.

no me too, i remember my friends a couple yrs ago talking abt bts and my first response every time was “ew” bc the way the media portrays bts and bts fan is cringey 12 yr old kids who take things too seriously, so i thought bts was a boy band who made music for kids. in march 2021 i watched “spring day” and was amazed at how much meaning that song had and i was like “they did something like this???”. i fell down the rabbit hole with “i just want to know their names” HAHAHA and here i am, 18 yr old who became a fan 4 months ago w 10 albums and 12 posters 😭

honestly same. 4 years ago I thought kpop is emo and cringey. bts is the one that drag me to kpop hole. I'm surprised at how artistic and deep their song are. they make me love pop music. I become openminded because of them. they may not be my ult kpop group anymore(cause their current music style are not really my taste). but they have a special place in my heart.

This one was the start of my J-Hope fascination. He is amazing in this, so strong, so passionate, his dance is precision and beauty and intense and breathtaking. Goosebumps yes. Heart beating faster. Breath shorter. If you slow it down to 50% speed you will think you are dying and you won't care.

If he reacts to shadow I think he should see the mv and a lyric video of the full song. The mv leaves out a verse that I don’t think he’ll want to miss and is 1.5 minutes shorter than the full song, but there is so much symbolism in the mv that I think both are definitely worth watching

This song belongs to the album "wings" and in this album they artistically relate most of the events of the BU (Bangtan universe), a fictional world where they represent different characters and metaphorically tell the stages of a person from a child to reaching adulthood, wings specifically portray the maturation stage, where they hatch and encounter the dark side of life, addictions, sin, and evil in general. This world is partly based on the book "demian" by herman hesse, I recommend that you react to the B.U videos so that you can understand what the story is about. Yes and no? He wasn’t chosen the leader bc of his English skills. In fact they never planned to expand to the west/ English speaking countries. The fans in the west just absolutely loved them and expanded them. And luckily Joon spoke English Anyways. Joon was technically the start of BTS and he naturally is the leader. Jhope is wealthy but he is no way the wealthiest member Hope World made a lot of money but you have to think about all the credits that RM has for over 175 songs not to mention he has movie OTS money and features. Now Jhope might spend the most Then there is Suga who has credits surpassing jhope also and features and producing credits not to mention he has 2 successful mixtapes. Hope World songs sold over one million units in the US, it was reported couple months ago and it was the highest number of units sold out of any BTS member mixtape. And until this year's March/April ( sorry don't remember now exactly), Hope World was the most streamed solo Korean album on Spotify, its streams surpassed 300 million streams. August D D-2 only has surpassed Hope World record 3 months ago, but there hasn't been any news that songs from D-2 sold in over million units in US, this record still belongs to j-hope. Moreover he has 112 writing/composing credits under his name and last but not least it was reported that Hobi earned a lot by wise investments in Apartments/estates, so his estimated wealth is taken from different sources, not only music. Now, the lyrics of BME indeed talks about a greed, but it is one of a Wings album concept, it has nothing to do with Jung Hoseok personally, the lyrics are tied to Blood Sweat & Tears thematically. Hobi is the humblest and the most selfless artist that I have ever seen, zero greed in him.

Omg!! Boy meet Evil!!!! I love this song so much! And J-Hope dance is do intense... Masterpiece. For me, it means the struggles of growing up and becoming an adult.. or being famous and sometimes losing yourself in it, tempted by the Greed.. At the beginning, it is RM's voice. I'm thinking your new slogan is "Again, again!" By now, I'm sure someone has mentioned that J Hope started out as a dancer first and only started rapping when he joined BTS. Whenever the discussion of RM as the leader comes up, this story from an ex-trainee (Brightoon)always come to mind: He gathered all the BigHit Trainees and said “We don’t know who’s gonna make it till the end. You might become BTS and I might not. Nevertheless, instead of fights and rivalry during our trainee days, let’s compete in good faith. Let’s practice and help each other when we need each other.” I sincerely believe that this early intervention really set the tone that made the close relationship among the boys possible in spite of the highly competitive and pressuring atmosphere and nature of the idol training system that more often than not result to a lot of in-fighting and disdain among members in other groups. It shows how they got to have a good foundation of thrust and camaraderie from the start. And i think this was the key on how none of the member’s egos or issues of jealousy got in the way of their success. He is such a great leader in setting this tone and environment for the group. But RM isn't the leader for his english, he's the leader purely for his leadership qualities, they didn't plan on going to english speaking countries when they started... When I heard this song I remember that my hair stood on end, never a song had made me feel like this. The vocals, rap, the dance, is the feeling with which he performed that dance, their expressions, absolutely everything caught me, that's why I'm a fan of j-hope now. Please keep reacting to his other songs, you are going to love it. Note: j-hope is like the second leader of BTS, he is the one who takes care of the other boys, besides he is the one who best knows languages such as: Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Portuguese and English He is the second best speaker, RM has praised him many times for his excellent pronunciation.

You hit the nail on the head when you say why you love them. Their message, their purpose…this is why we are fiercely protective of them bc in a way, by protecting them, we are protecting what’s good in this world. They represent the light in this dark world. BTS is not just a musical group, they are a movement. They just also happened to be the best dancers, performers, singers, rappers in the biz. For me, their success means good is beating evil. With that said, they are also the most entertaining, goofiest, cutest people that just make you smile ear to ear every day.

Thats the top dancer of BTS and it shows, the guy is incredible. Captivating, engaging, mesmerising. So much explosive expressiveness in him, so much life, so much pain and raw energy, so much of everything. What I like about Hobi most is his fluidity and vibrancy of motion. He is nimble and light but he also carries ton of “ heavy story telling” through his body. Maestro of dance, Titan of free style, impeccable in execution.

He is the greatest dancer and the greatest member in the team. All of member respect jhope a lot. If u are performer, and you get praised by jhope. Then you feel really great about it. (Said all of member). Because jhope is really that great. He learn so fast in everything. He is so dynamic that everybody admire and respect him. Jimin, who are the 2nd great dancer in the group said, it took jhope just 4 minutes to learn all of coreography (in DNA) meanwhile other member took several hours or maybe several days to remember that. Jhope is the MOST balance member in the talent aspect. Him, RM, and Suga has more 100 song credit, meanwhile vocal line 13 more credit. Jhope is that good, as a performer or as a musician.❤️

Every BTS album has an Intro, interlude and outro. The rapline usually gets to have the intro, since rap is a great way to tell a story. Boy Meets Evil is the Intro to their Wings album, which is connected to the BTS Universe storyline (which is fictional). Just another awesome way how BTS tells their story through music and performance. Jhope opened every concert during their Wings tour with this solo performance, and it was awesome.

We have to appreciate BTS each individual members as almost all of them started with only one main skill....be in rapping, singing OR dancing. They have to work extremely hard to acquire other skills individually and coersively.
