BTS - The Rise of Bangtan Chapter 17 Reaction. 

Everybody has their struggles but not having "big grand dreams" and wanting "happiness" is actually a different perspective on life that doesn't come from depression necessarily. The guys have mentioned many times that this "live in the moment" and "cherish yourself and your happiness" is one of the things they've learned from Jin. He is known for being very appreciative of both himself and people around him. It's just who he is which is quite charming and we could all learn from

They did it again during one of their more recent comeback shows as well. Every time a reactor makes a comment like "no way that would happen" I always have a big smile on my face because most of the times they do make it happen! 😅

I don’t think Jin is depressed right now, yes he has stated that he has been depressed before but Jin’s mentality really is “I want to be happy” not that he doesn’t have dreams or aspirations but as a part of BTS they deal with so much pressure and he doesn’t want to live ambitiously and seriously all the time but to enjoy life!!! That is the vibe that Jin give us, He has helped the members see life this way too

BTS also talk with mental health professionals regularly. Their approach to mental is...we go take care of our bodies regularly and go for checkups. Mental health is the same and it should be maintained and discussed openly.

For Jin it was more like he sometimes felt lacking besides the other members that already had some kinda training or were already good at singing or dancing... And in Awake he talks about this, the 6 flower petals that he clutches tightly he wants to fly/float in the air like those petals... anyways Army knows Jin is super talented and he can get better at anything he sets his sights on. He is super hardworking to learn to be not only a singer but a performer, he was always trying to catch up, and it's admirable how he did.

He said that he often get depressed, but that was back in 2017 and feeling down sometimes doesn't mean having 'depression'. Today, the members suffered a lot during the Covid-19 crisis however they've come to a point in their life where they feel better about themselves and some of them even said that they are actually happy. I'm waiting diligently on the next comeback, they will probably share of all this with us not to mention that they discovered many new hobbies and passions during theses two years and they said that they want to incorporate them into their music. Ellen have a tendency to ask stupid questions, and Americans interviewers always ask about everything but the music to BTS, which has a certain racist aspect to it. In South Korea it's very frowned upon to date fans, it's really not a thing, so here Ellen didn't even bothered to informed herself about their culture and lead the interview like they were American celebrities with the same culture. That's why Tae put a stop to it immediately by saying no firmly. Also, if you wish to know, RM and V have confirmed that their mixtapes will be released this year, it's will be the third for Joon and the first for Tae. J-Hope and JK are also apparently working on their mixtapes but no date right now. And Jimin have an OST that will be dropping this April most likely. Also, know that you can watch online from your house BTS next concert, I've been doing the same since I live in Europe, and one day of the concerts will be broadcasted online (nearly 2-3h), you can buy it on weverse shop.

I like all member's voices. Jimin's high notes always gets me every time he sings. V's soulful voice makes me feel the song and JK's tone is so soothing. JK and V had been my bias at one point before Suga. But Jin's voice is my favorite and I love his solo songs so much. He might be my bias among the vocalists.

His goal to always be happy doesn't mean he isn't happy in the moment. He did go through some difficult times but I think when he mentions that goal it means that every decision he makes will be towards what makes him happy whether now or sometime in the future. I think it's a great goal to have. It really shows his values and the type of person he is. And it also solidifies that he's happy being in bangtan

i always get goosebumps on Jin's solo stages like Epiphany and Awake.. 2 of my fave Jin solo songs... i am an ot7 but out of all BTS members Jin is closer to my personality although Hobi is my bias.

I just hope that seokjin really knows how important is as well as the other members and how loved he is for so much people and he is an amazyng singer, dancer, friend and person

Seeing some of Jin’s thoughts and struggles with Awake playing behind it really hits hard and puts that song in a whole new light.💜💜

In early 2018, they were overwhelmed by how much they have grown and I think it burdened them (?said by Jin in MAMA 2018 speech ) and had considered disbandment. I'm SO glad that they got themselves together and still continued this path with us.

Aw, what a coincidence that your RJ got injured when his dad Jin also got minor surgery on his finger from a non work related injury. I hope they both recover fast

the first time I ever got full-body goosebumps in my life was when I heard Jin perform AWAKE live in concert the first time....now his solo songs just always give me goosebumps...(except Moon)..You really could tell a huge improvement in his live performances from the start of the tour until when the tour ended....it was amazing...

Read the lyrics to V’s Blue & Grey. He wrote it during a period when he was depressed. He wrote it in English and was going to put it on his mixtape but then the members heard it and wanted it for the album BE so he rewrote it in Korean and had to change the lyrics a little bit but you will still get the same idea. Very descriptive poetic way of the portrayal of depression. Was very critically praised.

everytime I see this era, I can’t hold my tears, proud is really an understatement ! The members were actually crushed with pressure in 2018, but their success hasn’t stopped ever since.. their story is just unbelievable, what a journey, and so many years to go

yes 2020 might have been the year that Jin thru letter opened his depression and thru his song Abyss. I am just glad he is out of that stage.at least for now. I really pray that he is truly happy these days.

i really like jimin's voice, especially sleeping with my son he is always calm listening to jimin serendipity songs and jimin promise songs

Jin, main goal to be happy and as you watch more and learn more about him, you will see he has climbed out of the darkness and is good now. He had a lack of confidence, He gave a small speech to his parents and ARMY that will tell you more.

I've been an ARMY for while but I'm lazy and never got to watch Rise of Bangtan by myself.. so I'm in this journey with you... thank you for your appreciation and wonderful inputs :)

Idk if newer kpop fans know abt how difficult it was for a US fan to support a fav kpop grp before BTS forced the western industry to open its doors wider to actually expand investment in kpop. Before BTS, unless you had access to a niche store, online purchasing overseas (which was super, ridiculously expensive bc of shipping cost) was essentially the only way for international fana to get products from your fav grp. And in particular, album-buying was one of the few tangible ways for US fans to support their fav Korean artist at all for things related to charting or music awards. None of the big chain stores carried kpop albums or any kpop merch. And after Bighit partnered with US suppliers, for awhile, I think most retail stores _only_ carried BTS merch. Nowadays, there's more variety of kpop grps' merch in stores (and unfortunately, a lot of unofficial/non-collab merch too, so please always check before purchasing).

Love Yourself Her was my first BTS comeback ever and I lost my mind! Seeing them on my TV just a few months later was ICONIC.

I'm thankful to the ARMYs that were there to see them live during the AMAs. They really came through with the fanchants and the support for BTS

Jin thought is his past..even for all BTS...when watching these video...it's then at that point of time... they have reached time.. where even reaching peak..they were anxious and afraid of success...but now I think .all of them state of mind..has changes..they have acknowledge their position..now I think that I have moved on through all of this stage . beautiful part of this series..it's journey of their emotion..along with their career

I genuinely believe he suffers from depression on and off, and uses humor to deflect 🥺 I think he is always looking for how to make others happy, members, Army and I would like him to be a little selfish for him and seek his happiness too

Also Jimin just got a couple of new tattoos himself one behind his ear ( youth or growth) and a crescent moon on the back of his neck. He has already has a few on the side of his body.

Their next concert IS in Vegas! And I will be there on the 9th!! The whole town is going IN for ARMY! BTS themed rooms in several hotels, BTS themed meals, Pop ups, and The Bellagio's famous musical water fountain will play all BTS songs! And those are just the things I know about! I CANNOT FREAKING WAIT!!! Any other ARMY'S going?! Borahae!💜🤟

I also experience that in a lot of BTS songs as an army. I listened to some first time and feel like “meh” or not so sure if i liked it. After few tries and live version oh it’s on repeat. Ex 21st century girls, Run, Dimple, Dis-ease

Its true about them thinking they are famous. Look at the most recent BTS Episode AMA 2022. Look at the Car scenes and the acceptance speech for Artist of the Year. They still practice their english all the way to the red carpet.

I had heard that Bang PD worked for a bigger company but left to set up his own agency because he disagreed with how trainees were treated. He is a man of his convictions. I maybe wrong and ARMYs will correct me if I’m wrong, but Big Hit was one of the few if not the only companies who did not lay the cost of training on the trainees.

Korea is predominantly Buddhist. Buddhists believe in reincarnation. If you watch Korean dramas or even Chinese dramas, reincarnation is a theme that you will see repeatedly.

I totally get where you are coming from with talking about depression etc. I do think Jin suffers from imposter syndrome. However….just to clarify because I hear a lot of people make this mistake…… Robin Williams didn’t end his life because of depression. The man had a degenerative and fatal brain disease. He and his family knew it for years and he told them multiple times he didn’t want to be a burden to them or for him or them to suffer through that and remember him at the end as not himself. So he lived fiercely with the time he had left, and when he started to feel the progression of the disease was robbing him of himself, he chose his own exit. His wife said that in retrospect she realized he had been saying goodbye for a while and then planned the perfect last day for them together before he chose his own exit. A person with a horrible, degenerative and fatal disease who chooses death on their own terms is not at all the same as suicide due to depression.
