Maybe Spartan have access of private gear choice taste purchase that today Special force have Look at Navy seal for example they all have different gear so my guess they can choose at least the Helmet design
Every Spartan first uses the Recruit armour thats default in Halo 4 before they choose their specialised armour customisation. So every Spartan you see chose their armour for specific reasons. You specialise in Search & Rescue? They would mainly go for the Scanner helmet. You get the idea. My idea is that Buck since he's an ODST legend wanted to use the ODST MJOLNIR armour because that's what he's good at.
@@LexiaKazu Navy SEALs and other Special Forces don't have custom made weapons of choice or helmets and gear to choose from when going for missions, they get assigned these equipment as regards to the missions they will be carrying out. If the missions requires a SIG MPX, they will get issued a SIG MPX, if the mission requires a M4A1 and NVGs for it, they get issued an M4A1 and NVGs.

"ou've clearly only played Halo 5" I only own pc, so I played everything EXCEPT 4 and 5, lol. And I started playing the series on Combat Evolved, a year or two after it was released. My favorite part with Buck in Halo 5 is when Cortana is reading the profiles of Osiris, trying to get under their skin. She basically calls out all their flaws, how Locks a murderer, Tanakas father issues, etc, etc. Then she just calls Buck old. Cortana couldn’t find one negative thing about Buck so she literally just called him old. Which is even more funny when you consider that Master Chief is only one year younger than Buck.
Hey Buck was an ODST he fought the Covenant for decades the rest of Osiris are nothing more then pencil pushers who got promoted due to needing the ranks filled.
That moment at 3:07 when you see the way Buck's facial expression shows. It really shows how he understands the risks and consequences of such an op. Locke has just been so used to doing similar ops for ONI that it doesn't faze him so much at this point. Buck on the other hand has been through so many brutal campaigns like Harvest and Reach that he has more than enough right to feel wrong about this. This is why Buck is the one main member of Osiris that I respect and enjoy. Tanaka and Vale are simply too new for me to judge clearly and while Locke is interesting he still hasn't earned the right to be a character that I fully respect.
Plus we now know that Rookie is dead, Mickey went rogue & Dutch retired. The only ones who _went Spartan_ was him, Romeo and Veronica. It's kinda sad tbh

Buck is much better as a leader character, in ODST he had the perfect blend of comic relief, cockiness and leadership. He was funny but had the capacity to be serious especially when concerning his soldiers.
I still think buck shouldve replaced locke as the leader and the main character, it would’ve been way more compelling and easier to digest if it was a character we knew and liked before hand going against chief
Thing is, when I first played H5 I didn't play H3ODST yet so I didn't even know who Buck is - nonetheless, he was my favorite character from all Osiris and when I finally played H3ODST and realized that he was just a simple ODST, I thereby declared him my 4th favorite character in all of Halo, just after Cortana, Johnson and Chief.

Like it how understands that even if they somehow defied all the odds and actually captured Chief everyone would have hated them with a passion. He actually understands how much everyone respects Chief.
I feel bad for Nathan Fillion, he got handed a shitty situation, but at the same time, he still put on a performance that reminded us why we have loved Buck since Halo 3: ODST. And honestly, I think they need to make an ODST Show where it follows Buck, one that stays true to the canon as well unlike this new spin-off fanfiction that is circulating now.
@@solisprime2669 The Halo Paramount+ show is basically piss poor written fan fiction. The only good Halo show that existed was Forward Unto Dawn (it was an official mini-series), and before that there was Halo: Legends (a Halo anthology film, not considered canon but still approved by Bungie). Nightfall (another official film) was even better than the shitty Paramount+ shit.

Haven't watched the show nor will I cause they went far away from the lore the second I heard of the female human covenant spie I was like the covenant wouldn't have her be a spy they'd kill her simply for being human also the constant removing of helmets like the suits don't work if the helmets off and Spartan 2 don't take there helmets around none Spartans typically I kept seeing more of the Dudes face then the helmet and Halos going on for 20 years and still don't know what adult John looks like.

4:55 I feel like you can really see how buck is more tired than the rest of the team, such as when buck needed that extra boost to get to the next portal or when he has to take a tiny break after one of the jumps. Might just be me tho

@@dylancool8638 frankly if we are talking about any halo game wise, I would say most of the characters before 4-5 were pretty good. But Buck will always be one of the best, followed by Master cheif. Frankly I'm happy they had him in this game, just wish the game could've been written better.
Damn Buck is the only decent character in Halo 5 (obviously besides chief), but now Buck is just a shell of his former self. Sad to see people do this shit.....
He only acts like this because the events of Halo New Blood made him pretty depressed, you know with Rookie dying, Dutch retiring because of Rookie's death, and Mickey betraying Buck and Romeo
I never thought Buck would go from ODST to a Spartan. I wish he mentioned something about DARE or the rest of his old crew. Regardless, Buck is a badass soldier 👍
You have remember why Buck became a Spartan. He was initially offered the opportunity by Jun, only to turn it down. That wasn’t until the battle against the United Rebel Front which lead to the Rookie getting killed. To see a man who survived New Mombasa get killed right in front of him. He and his squad drifted apart for a bit until Jun approached him again with the offer, mentioning that the others had decided to become Spartans. Jun mentioned Buck’s late squadmate and stated that he would’ve been a great Spartan. So Buck becoming a Spartan was like honoring the fallen ODST and friend. Am I wrong?
Locke: seems cool but is from ONI so automatically untrustworthy Vale: fucking nerd Tanaka: trying way to hard to be sassy Buck: the loveable veteran who should have been in a better game.

Buck has always been my favourite. Just his funniness and other features make him such a likeable character. And his armour looks bad ass love the look of the Spartan but keeping the ODST helmet with that green visor. Looks amazing hope to see more of him in future games and instalments in the future.
I still to this day have never played the Halo 5 campaign and have no desire to. Buck deserves a better team and a mission objective that isn't a joke to the franchise.
It’s not a perfect translation but I can really appreciate just how well Buck feels here. He still has his sass, his snark, a lot that we saw from ODST but he feels like he’s aged, like time has properly passed from when we last saw him to how we see him now.
If Buck was the main character of the game (Well along with Master Chief and Arbiter) it would’ve been a whole lot better because he at least has personality thanks to Nathan Fillion.
God man Nathan Gillian is criminally underrated and underused in this, I think I only ever laughed at two lines in this game, the bar one and the ‘so we’re counting now?’ line, his delivery is honestly so good😂
I didn't particularly care for Halo 5 as a game...but that opening, yo!! If Square-Enix partnered up with 343 for a Halo film, that's probably what we'd get.
I’ll give the Spartan 4’s this much credit, as much as they are pety and childish, not self aware and hot headed at times, and actually HUMAN, they sure do have the will to fight, wether it’s between each other or the covenant they can fight
i always like to think that buck has a prototype shotgun in the opening scene considering he fire more than six shells without reloading. The UNSC must've gave him the old m90 shotgun but with the new shotgun luck lol
Although he is one of the better characters in 5, Buck lacked the faced aspect of his character. He's witty, Funny and charming, but has a certain seriousness behind all of it, also I don't think he would ever call the elites his brothers after the covenant killed his family and friends
Bucks armour design reminds me a lot of Captain Rex from Star Wars in that Rex preferred the design and protection of his old phase 1 armour and decided to weld his old armour into his phase 2 armour after phase 2 became the standard for the clone army, combining the maneuvrability of phase 2 and comfort and protection of phase 1. I feel like Buck incorporated aspects of his old ODST armour into his Spartan armour, probably for familiarity.
I love how Buck’s armor is based off his original ODST armor. 343 may get a lot of (deserved)shit, but they do know how to make a game look good. (Except the CE remaster, that’s an abomination.)
