Bucket head is the guitarist to end all guitarists. This dude can play anything from mellow acoustic riffs to the fastest metal possible. Hands down my favorite ever.
what i love is the fact that, if you watch another video of the same song from a different concert, its completely different. his live songs are never the same. so you could follow him around the country and never hear the exact same song twice.
I'm a guitarist/musician, and I think he's a great songwriter. A lot of people waste time passing off any music as "only this" and "only that", but who cares because he's really got good compositions. Even the late great Shawn Lane admitted that Buckethead virtually invented a new style.
"To tell you honestly... i like the way he dress, hahahaha" Me too. It suits him very well. I love it when sometimes in the right light and at the right angle his mask looks like it's his actual face.
My personal favorite version of the song. The solo is indescribable, and finishing it off with the main riff to 'Computer Master' it almost gets me stoned without weed.
When my son was very young and I needed to get him to stop crying, I would play some Buckethead and he'd stop crying immediately. Yes, I know that sounds strange, but it somehow calmed him down.
Yeah...when I first started listening to Buckethead, I was just learning how to play Crazy Train...and every time I tried to recall the opening riff to it, all I could bring to mind was 'Welcome to Bucketland'. Not the only time it's happeed to me, but frustrating none the less.
I wouldn't say it was completely unemotional, there's always SOME emotion in Buckethead's solos live.. For me the peak of emotion here is 3:30 - 3:47 . The part where he goes from the robotic sound to a pretty melodic improvisation, gives me goosebumps and makes me smile every single time..
This is probably like the fifth video I watched with Buckethead and it's still one of the best solos I've heard. He perfects the solo at 3:36 in my opinion after that robotic build-up, it's just so euphoric.
At the end it goes "Hahaha! Buckethead thinks he's going to build his park, cuz I am Centipede Woman! Hahaha! And he thinks he's going to build his park successfully? Well I've got news for him! Hahaha!"
I fucking love this guy to death! He totally fascinates me and fuck can he ever play! I wonder if ANYONE has ever seen his face and how the hell can he see his guitar strings through his mask, but I guess he's rehearsed enough times that he can play in his sleep - lol! BUCKETHEAD ROCKS!!!!
yes i realy wish he could be in the next g3 he's a great guitar player the only one that can play like this long life to buckethead i love his style he's really different
it temporarily opens the electrical signal from your guitar to your amp. when you push it down, it cuts the signal from your guitar, leaving you with no sound as long as it's pushed down.
buckethead can play blindly guitar since his 19th and yes on his website u can see his actuel face order the dvd and u can see it and some of the rare songs u probubly wont find anywhere on the net
"Eheheheheheheheheheh i am CENTIPEDE WOMAN, and Buckethead thinks he'll open his park sucssesfully, well ive got news for hiiim Ehehehehehehehehehehehehehhh"
Work all the way up to the high E/1st string and back and forth. Screw around with it a little to get different effects. Playing that sequence really fast makes it sound very close to his riff. Let us know how that turns out, and have fun practicing! Just make sure you alternate between the right hand ring finger, middle finger, and index finger all on the same string to get the proper tapping technique.
well, as with buckethead, I haven't heard much, but the stuff he played with hellborg is about the fastest ive heard, and he has feeling to. but Mathias eklundh who plays with jonas now is also great
anyhoo, I haven't heard much of buckethead, but from what i've heard, and this video of course I can tell hes a guitarist good as any crazy nonhuman being like IA, Vai, Satriani, Dimebag, Malmsteen, and so on, who all have their personal stiles. I mean bucket has played with Hellborg!
You are mostly right, but In my opinion buckethead is not one of many (in our times), because maybe he is a shredding-master and everything, but his music is nothing like anyone does this days (looking at it from the point of sound, tabbing, feel and a lot more.)
I'd give anything to have this dude come to the Guitar Center by me and lay waste to all the dudes that think they're good...as long as I get to watch, of course. I'd just like to learn from the guy...
The only thing on the Wiki article for Buckethead is that he cites Gilbert as an influence, not an instructor. Others have also compared him to Gilbert. Honestly, I cannot be 100% sure, but I have never ever seen anything said about Gilbert and Big B except that he was an influence.
he did take lessons from paul gilbert... and you can tell from his earlier videos hence the way he picked the strings back in his earlier days compared to now...
