Nicely done 54!!! Those all look like great baits under water but a couple looked like they ride a bit better underwater. Totally different perspective when you get to test drive.. lol thanks again for all your time👍
Thanks for watching Phil! And you're spot on! A few of them really stand out once we were able to see them underwater! Appreciate you always tuning in!👊
Glenn you have gone so far above and beyond in answering this question for me I'm completely blown away by this! I am shocked by how much higher the bou rides and I now will certainly fish one over the other depending on what the structure I'm fishing is. This has seriously opened my eyes to when and where I should be fishing each. I'm so grateful for this I honestly thank you, this has capped off probably my best fishing week ever
Congrats on your beauty of a fish over the weekend! And great question you asked and so happy we could deliver on it for you! I was a bit of an eye opener for us as well! I think lots of anglers will find this of some value. Appreciate you always tuning in! 👊
@@54orbust thanks brother!! I still can't wipe the smile off my face 😆 and to share that with my uncle who's the person that got me started Musky fishing 20+ years ago was truly priceless
Thanks Matt, we always wondered what the big difference was. And it was a valuable video just for us, but we are happy to share! We gotta stay busy until musky season opens lol Keep getting then down south 👊
Great video Glenn and the underwater shots are always so extremely helpful. Clearly from this video you can see the difference in depth between the two when retrieved at the same speed. My thought also is that if you’re looking for speed in shallow water, reach for a flashabou bucktail as you can really burn it in without pulling it out of the water, and reach for the marabou when slowing down as it won’t drop down into the structure/bottom as easily when going slower.
Awesome video... I love the underwater comparisons!! I don't have a strong preference between the two but have a couple of each. This gives me info on depth and aggressiveness that is helpful, thanks!
Also the Marabou having more lift should be able to be worked slower or "slow rolled" . With less movement and flash and can be worked slower, marabou a more subtle approach for sure. Awesome review my friend.
sure makes you think a bit longer when reaching in the box for the next bait. Would you think sunny or over cast days may have an effect of which bait would produce? Thanks for the info.
Good question, between bou and flash? I don't know if one would perform better than the other in any given weather. We do have plans to do a sunny vs cloudy day comparison on some popular baits. That may help answer your questions. Appreciate the question and thx for watching!
Good point! We choose the two most popular options, the ones most anglers are likely to encounter. That would certainly warrant a revisit at some point. I can reach out to Muskie Munchies, as Jeremy makes some traditional buck hair baits. I appreciate the suggestion! Thanks for watching!
One other thing we found. Marabou baits grab alot of air on the cast compared to a similar flash bait. It was breezy the day of the video, and I had to really "force" the marabou baits to get them where I wanted. Just something else to consider.
One more consideration that isn't so much about how the bait presents. With marabou you have to make sure to dry it well before storing or it can degrade really fast. Flash needs a lot less care.
So correct! I should have added a B Roll clip of the baits hanging above the window frame to dry out. Noted for a future video, thanks for that recommendation! Appreciate you watching!
