@@pranasvaicaitis42 yes I have. Unless it doesn't work for people who have loud ringing in their ears 24/7 due to damaged ears. Who knows that's just my own experience.
N 9 N E does it.... mine has taken a lot of damage this year, and i keep running from it, when it's my entirety to my being, he holds my dreams and art but my mind keeps running from it from the pain
Still sounds bogus. What exactly is one supposed to achieve becoming aware of his breathing. Oh right they supposed to achieve money by selling books on meditation hah.
The ultimate meditation one should learn is from the Maha Satipatthana Sutta. Buddha taught to contemplate on the Four Foundation of Mindfulness...ie. contemplation of body phenomena (Kaya nupassana Satipatthana) contemplation on feelings or sensation (vedana nupassana Satipatthana), contemplation on the mind (citta nupassana satipatthana) and contemplation on mind objects..all phenomena not as in the above three.(Dhamma/dhamma nupassana Satipatthana). This meditation will give you insight knowledges where you will come to experience a being is just 'mind and matter'...no I no you and not mine...you will experience the natural universal law of cause and effect between mind and body and vice versa and ultimately you will experience our lives is impermenent, unsatisfactory and non-self.( Anicca, dukkha, anatta). This Vipassana meditation. Go to Mahasi Sayadaw site.
As long as one is in the moment, one does not need anything beyond.there is no past or future ,only present.and since all is one what more could you want?
yeah because you know his character based off of a very brief video...not saying you are wrong but you clearly way too easy to trust immediately based off one thing.
agreed... and no big deal on the language, and woah on the wishing death upon people - "live and let live" seems more open and accepting than saying you're worthless and should die... sheesh. you sensitive people should worry more about your breathing and less about other peoples' words.
@@justkhanhtung I get what you mean. But the world isn't black or white, good or bad, right or wrong etc... the ego is the one that makes you believe it is like that.
@@RonLarhz Observing the natural breath is called "Aana-Paana" in pali language, the language which buddha had used. this Aana-Paana was taught by Buddha himself to his students to sharpen the mind for vipasana practice. I have attended the 10 days of Vipasana at Mumbai 2 years back.
Tbh I struggled with thinking there was no people like him, in the end you just got to show your energy, and hopefully the right vibrations of certain people will go your way, vice versa.
I have been practicing meditation since middle school when I first got my hands on a metaphysics book. This video helped me explain it to a friend who has been struggling to grasp the concept.
I often use meditation as form of pain management, so probably more times than I can count in a day. Not all of it is trance level mediation, but it's all helpful and relaxing.
This is funny because I always wear earplugs when I go to bed because I find my breath becomes louder and I can easily focus on it which makes my thoughts disappear in the background, and It relaxes me, so I can go to sleep easier. I guess Ive been meditating every night before sleep. I never thought of it that way. Peace.
yes it does work and helps you become more intune with your breathing. By affecting one sence another is hightened! but do not fall asleep with them in your ears because this is not a good thing.
@@essamishab822 vipassana means "insight". To be awareness and strengthen the concept of thought. It all comes down to how you concentrate yourself. Allow your energy to flow naturally and raise your vibration by focusing your positive energy on yourself and becoming one with life.
Sometimes, we 'forget' to breath as it comes naturally to do so. In fact, every breath we take it for granted. But after watching this video, knowing just by consciously reminding yourself to breath is considered mediating is breath taking.
Well you're giving a job to do so you're not so much in thought !!all thought is made up of is the past$ to have a mind that is not based on the past$ there is a benefit there
@@acaraleow2997 I can't help have to admire the persistance of religious one upmanship .always gotta add more levels.no your doing it wrong my way is best.every Buddhist wirth his salt knows there are many ways to enlightenment.it is not so complicated as some make it.however we are talking about the essence of meditation in of itself.
You're not reminding yourself to breathe, you are just directing your focus towards your breath. That's the entire goal and idea of meditation, to practice focus. So very simply you can focus on your breaths which are always there, and if you practice this it will have benefits without even realizing at first. Most of the benefit will be that you will be able to hold your concentration better, but the same idea can be used to avoid negative thought patterns as well such as anxiety.
🐒 🙏💖 Mind monkey or monkey mind, from Chinese xinyuan and Sino-Japanese shin'en 心猿 [lit. "heart-/mind-monkey"], is a Buddhist term meaning "unsettled; restless; capricious; whimsical; fanciful; inconstant; confused; indecisive; uncontrollable". The Buddha was the smartest psychologist I’ve ever read. More than 2,500 years ago he was teaching people about the human mind so that they might understand themselves better and discover that there was a way out of suffering. Buddha wasn’t a god or a messiah - he was simply a very wise teacher with keen insights into human nature. He learned much by meditating and learning from his own experiences, as well as by observing the behavior of others. Buddha described the human mind as being filled with drunken monkeys, jumping around, screeching, chattering, carrying on endlessly. We all have monkey minds, Buddha said, with dozens of monkeys all clamoring for attention. Fear is an especially loud monkey, sounding the alarm incessantly, pointing out all the things we should be wary of and everything that could go wrong. Buddha showed his students how to meditate in order to tame the drunken monkeys in their minds. It’s useless to fight with the monkeys or to try to banish them from your mind because, as we all know, that which you resist persists. Instead, Buddha said, if you will spend some time each day in quiet meditation - simply calm your mind by focusing on your breathing or a simple mantra - you can, over time, tame the monkeys. They will grow more peaceful if you lovingly bring them into submission with a consistent practice of meditation. I’ve found that the Buddha was right. Meditation is a wonderful way to quiet the voices of fear, anxiety, worry and other negative emotions. I’ve also found that engaging the monkeys in gentle conversation can sometimes calm them down. I’ll give you an example: Fear seems to be an especially noisy monkey for people like me who own their own business. As the years go by, Fear Monkey shows up less often, but when he does, he’s always very intense. So I take a little time out to talk to him. “What’s the worst that can happen?” I ask him. “You’ll go broke,” Fear Monkey replies. “OK, what will happen if I go broke?” I ask. “You’ll lose your home,” the monkey answers. “OK, will anybody die if I lose my home?” “Hmmm, no, I guess not.” “Oh, well, it’s just a house. I suppose there are other places to live, right?” “Uh, yes, I guess so.” “OK then, can we live with it if we lose the house?” “Yes, we can live with it,” he concludes. And that usually does it. By the end of the conversation, Fear Monkey is still there, but he’s calmed down. And I can get back to work, running my business and living my life. Learning to manage your monkey mind is one of the best things you can do to transform fear. Pay attention to how your monkeys act - listen to them and get to know them, especially the Fear Monkey. Take time to practice simple meditation on a regular basis. Learn how to change the conversations in your head. Practice kind, loving, positive self-talk and see how it can transform your fears. 🐒 🙏💖
Berry ॐ Rebelle thank you so much for sharing this, i never knew that about the monkeys, it sounds so silly but it fits so well with our minds! I always imagined my thoughts as some angry beast. But i can see the monkeys there too. Its nice to see your example of talking it through and being able to handle the noise of the monkeys. Im glad this is helping you. (Maybe its just me, but imagining a bunch of monkeys going crazy in my head makes me smile big and laugh very very hard)

Do they even have self awareness? Or rather why do we have self aware? Is continuity consciousness real? Am I still the same person every time I woke up? Can jet fuel melt steel bea...?? Wait no, who am I? Am I even you? I'M TRAPPED INSIDE YOU!!! Monk: Hey, breath... Monkey mind: Ah yeah! Good idea!

Jesus coming back very soon!!!please repent of your sins and accept Jesus into your heart. Salvation: The following prayer, “The Sinner’s Prayer” (also known as the Prayer of Salvation) is a simple prayer to follow when asking Lord Jesus Christ into your heart. You may certainly pray to God in your own words. The basis of the Sinner’s Prayer comes from Romans 10:9-10. “That if thou shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Sinner’s Prayer: Dear God in Heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness. I believe that Lord Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin. You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead, we shall be saved. Right now I confess Jesus Christ as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Lord Jesus Christ from the dead. This very moment I accept Lord Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved. Thank you Lord Jesus Christ for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Lord Jesus Christ that your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself. Thank you Lord Jesus Christ for dying for me and giving me eternal life. Amen.
I suffer from chronic pain, and this technique helps when the pain is overwhelming. It distracts my mind while aiding in a healthy heart rate. Focusing on breathing in through the nose, out through the mouth (like an athlete after taking a hit & staying in the game) calms my body down some while also reminding me to keep my spine upright & shoulders back. (The pain constantly makes me want to curl into a ball & pull my back out of alignment)
Consider Wim Hofs methods. He claims to be able to control the inflamation responses of the body. He seems to have a persuasive base for that, with some of his demonstrations like the one were he was injected in a hospital with something to cause inflamation, and doing things like climbing mount everest with just shorts for clothing.
Love this guy, so charming, understood the concept in first go but watched it again few more times just to see him talk again, such a magnetic personality
This was my very first way to meditate......and the easiest!! Count 1 as you inhale. Count 2 as you exhale. Count 3 as you inhale. Continue to 10 than start again and IF you forget which breath-number you did last...JUST start from 1 again. It's super easy, BUT........the effects are profound IF you can do this for MINIMUM of 40minutes a day for 4-weeks. YOU DEFINITELY WILL BE ABLE TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE.......AND THE SITUATIONS & PEOPLE YOU ATTRACT/CREATE.....enjoy!
Best way to start meditation, watch breathe, benefit start with in 40 days, I am doing from 3 years, now and then I am not same person, emotionally strong, mind disappear ,all aspects of life strong
But sometimes a person goes into the Dukkha Nanas... then life becomes a nightmare and if you don't have a guru then you are really screwed and can end up in a psych ward , or suicidal , or homeless . The only people that will understand what you're going through will be a real true Shaman... the only real Shaman I know of who don't ask for anything in return other than that you meditate and be mindful and try to be compassionate are real Buddhist Lamas. Especially the Tibetan Buddhist Lamas and by that I don't mean westerners who have become a Lama , I mean the ones who are either born in Tibet or their parents were . ( I've met some lamas who are white westerners that live in a very upscale neighborhood... and they don't believe that are materialistic but they are and they are also missing the point ) The Dukkha Nanas, also called The Dark Night of the Soul is marked by FEAR, DISGUST , MISERY... and then a very strong desire to be free from this misery. People often lose their appetite at this point in life... and lose interest in everything and end up spending most of their time just sort of in bed or laying around and they don't know what's wrong. They feel very awkward can't seem to get comfortable no matter what everything just seems to bring them to a place of pain. A lot of times that fear can become all encompassing and turn into full-blown paranoia . If they get on psych meds or any kind of drugs for this or alcohol then you actually prolong your suffering because the only way to go through the Dark Night of the soul is to deal with it. Some people are fortunate and only have to go through it for a few days or weeks some 4 months and there are those who go in and out of it for years . The first time you go through it and then you come out of it you are relieved and happy and life is more beautiful and better than ever until you go back into it again and then you feel the universe has played an evil trick on you. This is why you need a real true Shaman and I'm not talking about someone who calls themselves a shaman and does bachelorette parties or someone who has studied Shamanism but doesn't have the real gift for it. This is why I suggest you find a real true Lama , especially Buddhist one ... About a year-and-a-half ago I heard Bruce Springsteen talking about how he couldn't get comfortable nothing you did worked he had this overwhelming anxiety and he just didn't know what was wrong with him and he was saying how getting with psych meds helped. I instantly knew it was The Dark Night of the soul and by his getting on psych meds he has only prolonged his suffering because first of all... almost all serotonin uptake Inhibitors will eventually DESTROY YOUR MIND because what big Pharma doesn't want you to know is that they work by depleting every last drop of melatonin in your brain and then you are really going to have problems... it basically causes you BRAIN DAMAGE .
This guy is so wise and concise when explaining a seemingly difficult concept to grasp for a beginner, like myself. Great video! Thanks for sharing with the world your knowledge. What a beautiful time we live in.
