This is the most helpful review/comparison I've seen, thank you! The accuracy test showed there's no contest, the T16000 seems worth the extra money for that reason.
I used to have the 3D Extreme when it was first introduced & loved it. When I bought Elite Dangerous I needed a new stick, so I decided to go with the Thrust master T-Flight HOTAS X. Since using it I have noticed that the lack of hall effect sensors means drastic reduction in precision & also the stick fails to fully center, instead bouncing around center on some or more axis. The T16000m on the other hand is a hall effect stick and gives way better performance in centering & precision. I now dual stick with 2 T16000m and I will never go back to single stick.
@@zuber1995 yes, before I had to expand the dead zone to prevent the axis from bouncing around, but that had the effect of having to move the stick farther before it registered the movement. I have since gone to just the one stick & throttle for space saving reasons. I know this answer is a bit late but hopefully it's still beneficial.
@@muskansehgal5792 yea it is, I used in game bindings, not the Thrustmaster software. I found it to be clunky and yet another thing that has to take up resources.
Thrustmaster is better, I've had both. The z axis rotation can be problematic though (mine got twitchy). Take the stick apart and a couple of drops of WD40 on the actuator will fix it. Have some epoxy handy to get the little suction cup magnet thingy back in the right spot. Only put a tiny bit on the small end. You can look at the one still intact to see how it goes.
I liked your defination "dinosaur" lol :D Logitech probably uses potentiometer which is just 255 different resolution and pretty low precision for todays.
@@kubefs The guy was selling it for just a touch more than that (I think it would be around 8 bucks in our currency) and I had the nerve to negotiate to 5 and he agreed, lmao The joystick is nice, very precise and accurate, way better than I expected To me it looks a little ugly, but somehow when you hold it its surprisingly ergonomic. Only nitpicks I have is that I'd like the grip to be symmetrical, but that's only how I prefer it, and the buttons on the base to be more clicky. Overall for the price I paid it's a joke to seek for disadvantages, especially with a magnetic sensor. I've been playing a lot of IL2 these couple of days and its been an awesome experience overall.
Being honest, I had both of them and I moved back to Logitech 3D pro. I'm using it for MFS and Xplane 11 and I have better experience with 3D pro but for sure, Thrustmaster would be better for Elite Dangerous. For normal flying there's no need to spend extra money I think.
Airbus has a little bit more resistance in x and y axes, about 20%. the button layout is disappointing. There's more than enough room for 2 buttons above and below the hat switch. There is an awkward top trigger that despite being weird to pull is very useful.
if you use the thrustmaster allot you should consider doing a new review on its preformance now. its interesting to see how these things hold up after heavy use, flight sticks have burned allot of people like that.
I have had the Logitech Extreme 3D PRO for quite some time and I recommend it if you are on a really tight budget, you're a beginner or just want something to play right away. Also recommended if you want to play some retro sims. Good video 😀
Hello. I used to play with a USB PS2 controller, and I used to do a feature in menu controls, It's called: "Center ailer rudder" in flight control surface/Primary control surface section, (I think Number 5 on keyboard), So this feature make the yoke returns to the middle in cockpit & it's make the plane balanced & going straight when I lose control of the plane or when I take my hands off the controller to relaxing my hands or when I get up from the computer for a minute, So when I came back to the computer I found the plane still going in a straight way & I feel happy. (This function it's not Auto pilot, It's Center ailer rudder) But after I play with a new joystick "logetich Extreme 3D Pro" and when I adjust the same feature (Center ailer rudder) on one of the joystick buttons. So when I click on that button. I see the yoke returns to the middle in cockpit, BUT when I take my hand away from the logitech joystick, the plane going down or going up. So I have to hold the logetich joystick all the time to control the plane. Why was this not happening to me on the PS2 controller? Is there any solutions?
That's because the input from the 3D extreme is not centered and it's rather jittery, I suggest adding deadzone in the control options. so it negates minor movement. Hope it solve your problem.
@@the-entertainment477 its a setting to negate minor movement at the centre of joystick. The more a stick has some jitter in its input the more deadzone needed. If your options has deadzone setting you can use it. If you don’t maybe you can dowload joystick curve program to adjust your stick.

I got the T16000 recently and sent it back...hated it...throttle is too far from buttons, stick not responsive enough, couldn't tell which buttons I was pressing, weapon buttons had too long a throw to them...ugh
Thrustmaster T1600M rm350+ while Logitech Extreme 3D pro rm149, less than 3x the price here. I have the Logitech Extreme, after using sometime, the controller would stuck to the left causing the aircraft/spacecraft that I'm flying spiralled into deadly left roll in Elite Dangerous, DCS. I have to push the stick to the left to unstuck it instead of pushing to the right which would only counter pull. I'll get the thrustmaster T1600M hotas package with throttle at rm690+ after this. Hope more new flight combat sims will be available then, microprose said they vow to return to gaming sims industry.
Seeing how I've only replaced my Saitek once in over 15 years I'd go with the Saitek. Forget the Z-axis tho and get pedals.. otherwise it will last forever and not need a large dead zone like many other sticks after a bit of use.
Likely referring to the 3D pro, as Saitek made sticks before merging into Logitech. I've heard stories of people having 3D pros for well over 12+ years and despite a bit of slop in the throttle potentiometer and a bit of a dead zone, still function well. That's quite a feat for a plastic ball gimbal with old tech. I've also seen quite a few posts on Reddit about the twist axis of both the T16 and Airbus stick giving out after just a years use. I don't know if Logitech still make the 3D pro a the same level of quality they once were, but it's clear the design itself has been tried and tested now for two decades.
does using the joystick curve software make it closer to the t16000m in percision? because if its still pretty shaky I might just hold off until t16000ms are back in stock
FlyingAce1016 no even with joy curve i would say it performs around 60% of T16000. If you play ED with FA OFF it does demand good precision. Also be aware that t16000 has weak twist axis, mine has problem after 1 month of rigorous use.

The T.16000M has six "suck buttons" on the base. The buttons on the base are not duplicated from one side to the other, but are entirely different buttons. If you're using the stick, and you have to reach AROUND the back of the stick and under your arm and hand, just to press any of those buttons, IT SUCKS. It's not a bad joystick, but the buttons on it are NOTORIOUS for being garbage. They break easily, with very little use, and they are not sturdy AT ALL. I've used 3D Pro joysticks for years. I have several of them, some of which I bought from flea markets and thrift stores. Every one of them, when I took them home and cleaned them up, calibrated and worked perfectly. As long as you have a light hand on the stick, and don't slam them around, they'll last a very long time. They're also the most ergonomic stick on the market, which makes a BIG difference for long trips/missions. I HIGHLY recommend the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, which will still be working several years from now, as opposed to the T.16000M, which will have a joystick working very well but no buttons still operational.
Since the T16000 is adjustable for left and right hand use, It's very possible that its design to actually to be used 6 buttons on the left for right handed, and 6 buttons on the right for left handed.
Daniel Arief ok thank you, on the Logitech website it says 30 but on amazon it’s like 130 which is ridiculous. I didn’t know if Logitech messed up their price or not
VKB Gladiator NXT beats the crap out of them both. I've got the Logitech Extreme 3D for a while before buying the VKB... the VKB is so good, I instantly regretted buying the Logitech and was instantly glad I never bothered with the T16000m. The stick return to center is *DAMPED* - you simply never see that kind of quality in a 'budget' stick anywhere.
damped? Its softenered in some way? How would you describe the accuracy / feel of the vkb? I've heard that the T16000m feels like a toy in comparison, just wondering for what to reasons.
Wow .. amazing.. a stick that is 150 bucks and wasn't compared in this video is better than a 40 dollar stick.... You should run for political office somewhere
Then we have quality issues here, my twist went bad in a month, sprayed the twist sensor with WD 40 and contact cleaner and it worked again, however i believe they put in really low quality stuffs in here.
@@danarief honestly just because you released this video doesn’t make you right, it does not mean that because of your honest review it’s the only one that is facts, there are plenty of other reviews that might disagree with yours but this review mostly just talked about the t16.
