My cousins had expensive weddings....I just couldn't do it. Instead, we built our first house and we got married in the house. :) We had our reception in the kitchen. It was a small affair with just my parents and sister and my husbands parents and hid brothers. I feel like instead of paying for a venue to rent for a moment in time, we invested in our future. We were homeowners at just barely 21. I loved it, and I wouldn't change a thing.

Welcome back! Congratulations to your son and future daughter in law! I want to thank the Hive for inspiration, knowledge and support! I had 22K in consumer debt collections and absolutely no savings. With so much stress and anxiety, I cashed out my old employer 401K (charging crazy fees) and made some calls. I have made negotiations and have only 3 left($7k)! I completed 2 savings challenges and used that to fund and finished 2 more, which completed my Emergen-Bee! Thank you so much! Today I saved $6 in HH. This week I pushed myself and went back and played every HH that was available. Adding today, I have saved over $300 just in HH. This helped me make my Emergen-Bee goal! I'm sorry for the long comment but I wanted to share with the new-bees that 2 Sisters 🐝 helps the Hive bee savin'!

My fiancé and I are eloping. We’re getting married in Central Park, and are paying for it all in cash! I was planning this huge elaborate wedding and every time I saw the price of a venue, dress, blah blah blah, I would cringe. I’m so happy that we’re going into our marriage debt free. We’re also doing the same for our honeymoon. We’re going next year and paying for all of it in cash! The pressure that society puts on us is crazy! Also, I love Ramit Sethi!

I just started watching your videos so I'm still trying to understand the savings challenges and how they work. I am starting my cash stuffing journey this paycheck I've been watching all of your videos and I'm really excited to get started and looking forward to working towards my financial goals. I'm a single mom of a special needs son who is 18 and I make decent money so I'm definitely looking forward to starting my budget to see where all of my money is going because I'm pretty sure most of what I spend is not a need but a want.

I have a retirement account through my employer. Funds are added to it directly from my paycheck. My employer matches 100% up to $2500 annually, so I do the max contribution so they will match every dollar. Do I still need a Roth IRA?

I just told my friend I'm going to start a grocery challenge. We usually shop at Walmart but our military grocery store is cheaper on most items so I'm going to be shopping on base and checking the difference from wal mart and saving the difference

I guess I kind of do the grocery savings challenge.....any money left over for the week goes into savings challenges....It's like a fun challenge to see how much I can save and to look for the best deals. There is a channel, and I hope I don't get in trouble for mentioning them. Ozark Family Homestead. Janice budgets 1100.00 a month for her family of 9. She does a once a month pantry stock up, then shops only the best sales prices across 4 or 5 stores. With her savings, over the last few years, they have been able to build a summer kitchen...she also included her RU-vid money in this build. She is really great to compare her savings across the stores to what she would have paid if she just went to Walmart. It's really interesting and puts into perspective what you can truly save if you but a little time and effort into it.

When you started the introduction I thought oh how cute Jenn is marrying (no pun intended😂) the weekly videos together. Hi Jenn. I have to apologize for all the questions I have been posting but I am brand new here and I’m really trying to get a handle on things as efficiently as possible. I have watched quite a few of your videos but can’t find the answer to this question. 😅 What is included in your groceries category? Is it only good? I have a groceries category but when I order groceries I don’t just buy food, I also buy laundry detergent, dish soap, shampoo, soap, etc. Is that stuff included under ‘groceries’ for you too or do you have a separate category that you take those things from? All of those things you mentioned are options. And completely up to you. I will say, with groceries, I like to roll mine over. One week I may not need much but then the following week- I may be out of more stuff.

I saved 15 this time....My husband and I actually did the justice of the peace marriage and took what we would have spent on the wedding and put it towards a house. It was the best decision for us.

Oh yes! Soooo smart. I wish everyone did that. This idea of princess for a day or whatever the draw is - idk… it’s just gotten out of hand. IMO I will say I think a lot of people are starting to realize that debt is so not cool - It’s sooooo 80s! 😂😂
