Most expensive and best purchase of this month! Investment: second hand vintage bike Splurge: I went to Sephora and got a designer perfume I’ve wanted for awhile. I tested it out a couple months and finally got myself a full sized bottle! I think I found my signature scent. Other highlight: I decreased my credit card debt by 20% and increased my credit score! 💚💸

Best purchase: a nice lunch and a 10 euro aperol spritz i had outside on the first warm and sunny day of the summer. Kind of unnecessary but it made me happy! Most expensive purchase: I invested some extra money since the market is down.

So, no joke, the best money I spent this month was actually hiring a financial person to start helping me with taxes and personal and small business money management. It was way less expensive than I thought it’d be, and my earnings from one particular marketing/promotional idea he gave me paid it all back in one weekend. I finally feel like I have somebody who knows what they’re doing helping me get all of my taxes correct, and I’m about to stop living in fear of the IRS or an audit. Compared to all the fun things I’ve bought in my life, this new feeling of security tops them all by a mile 🤩

Honestly I've spent this month trying to catch up on bills. I'm still a full month behind on everything. Stressful. BUT hearing how well you're doing makes me happy, so congrats to you! And I'm glad the separation stuff is going well with Maggie. She's such a cutie.

loved the food/burger analogy! budgets are meant to help us by providing structure (or else it would be complete chaos) but like food, restricting yourself and rigidness isn't sustainable or healthy. everything in moderation and don't beat yourself up about any slip-ups!

I was living paycheck to paycheck, was in CC debt and I just knew I had to do something about it. I got into budgeting around September of 2021 and boy did that help ! 😁😁 I stop budgeting to the penny a few months ago actually, because it can get very stressful. But it did help me to realize I needed to start saving, living below my means and start investing. 🥰 Awesome video as always, Zoe ♥️

I threw my hands in the air too and went “wild” on Amazon over the space of two weeks, I had literal heaps of parcels arriving, I didn’t even need anything 🤷🏼‍♀️. Today I returned them all, I feel so much more at peace and have got my parter to change the password so I don’t turn to it for “stress relief”. It was only small purchases but boy do they add up 😩. It’s so strange how we can do so well and then it all goes down the drain, I blame hormones 😂. I have started giving myself a weekly budget rather than a monthly one so it’s split evenly. Best purchase; m&m’s sweets most expensive £50 fairy lights for my wedding marque x

Most expensive and best purchase of the month: trip with the bf to Barcelona (and then missing our flight and having to book a second one home 🙈) but still so worth it. Enjoyed Barcelona and the quality time with my partner 🏝

These are always my favourite videos of yours! My most expensive purchase was also puppy related, my little guy got neutered and that was pricey! My best purchase was and always will be therapy! You should get the annual pass for Bixis, I think they’re like $80 for the year!

Most expensive and best purchase of this month: Airline tickets to see a friend in Vancouver and to see family in Jamaica this summer. One was an unexpected expense, but considering the last 2 years and the lack of travel/not seeing family and friends often, I'll adjust my budget in the coming months to compensate

Hey, Zoe. You mentioned that you wanted to figure out how to get paid more. I think you should do what I see some other RU-vidrs do: Take your longer videos, break them into several segments, and post them as separate segments - that's in addition to the full 35-minute video. It'll please the algorithm and garner you more views. If you wanna see a great example of this, check out The Money Guy's RU-vid channel. A RU-vid consultant told them to do this, and they get way more views without filming any more content. It's just using the same content in an optimized way. Hope this helps. Hey Zoe! Big fan of yours! fellow montrealer too! I love your monthly budgeting videos. Spending 400$ on groceries in mtl makes so much sense with the way prices are going. Just a little note, if you want to cut down on expenses for your phone and internet Fizz is a very good company (videotron) and their prices are bearable. Hi Zoe, thank you for sharing your experience with your personal finances with us. The other thing which helps to shift your mind about money and anxiety around money is focusing on earning more. It is essential to be mindful about your spending but also look for ways to make more income so you don't have to worry about spending.

Hey Zoe! Great video, I love the transparency in all of your Vlogs. I have loved watching your channel grow and gain popularity and followers, it’s amazing! If I could make a suggestion? It seems like your total monthly fixed expenses (your fixed expenses+pup food+groceries) is $2,695 and your emergency fund goal is $10,000. It might be a good idea to up your emergency fund a bit to try to cover 6 months worth of fixed expenses (something especially good and comforting to have when our revenue isn’t always consistent). Most expensive purchase for me: my car. Best purchase: new soffits hahaha

Thank you for always being so transparent and real! Financial anxiety is really taking over lately. I was on mat leave with my second little one which is now done but I can't go back to work because we have no daycare! Daycare shortage in quebec is fantastic -.- Definitely looking for a side hustle to bring in some money! haha thanks for being so inspirational as always :) This month I paid off a small portion of debt on my credit card but wasn't able to add to my savings! we win some and we lose some! its all about balance :)

My most expensive AND best purchase was kayaking on the Colorado river, and going to see the rams (animals not the sport team) :) I keep missing rent by a couple dollars as of late where I used to have $1-200 left each month 😔. Gas and food are more expensive and it's just messing me up. I've had to reduce the amount that I'm saving 😔😔😔 but hopefully prices go back down after summer (or sooner!)

Most expensive and best purchase: homeowners insurance for $547 USD ($700 CAD). I suppose this shows my age. Being able to own a home with no mortgage and pay to insure it is a blessing.

This week, I made an impulsive purchase of $90 to buy a leather purse that I saw an IG ad for. They got me haha. I wasn’t shopping for one, but I also don’t have one I like right now so I’m hoping it turns out to be a great purchase I use and enjoy. It was like 50% off and I’ve considered similar bags at full price previously, so I’m ok with it…. But hopefully I like it as much as I think I will when it arrives! 🙃

Most expensive purchase is definitely a new bike, helmet, and lock. Both the bike and a fitness membership are my best purchases so far. Watching your content made me feel more comfortable treating myself (had a $40 something lunch!) and spending a little more haha! I don’t know if you have done a video about your self-care routine since your channel is more personal finance focused. I’m intrigued by the supplements you take and want to know what made you take them, and if you noticed any changes with yourself after taking them!

Don't feel too bad about your stocks being down, it's down for everyone right now. In fact, when the market goes down, many people consider it the best time to buy, as the stocks are "on sale." Buy low, sell high ☺️

Most expensive purchase of the month is my tattoo. It’s my first one and I put so much time and research into this! Best purchase of the month is probably the tattoo as well but also I went on a trip to Colombia with some work friends and we went four wheeling through the countryside. Beyond incredible experience and well-worth the money!

My biggest purchase last month was eating out, have cut down on that by subscribing to a meal service to keep things interesting while also being healthier! Next month it's going to be the dentist 😢 (I'm going to be getting my teeth whitened and Invisalign)

Been doing so well this year on budgeting saving for the first time in my life. But went to Vancouver last week, budget was supposed to be 700$ for the whole trip( was staying with my sister, got an amazing deal on flights) ending up spending double that 😔. Trying not to let it derail me! And going to adjust upcoming trips because of it. I love these videos because it’s like check ins at work. So good to process, learn and strategize!!

Good work on your grocery bill. Under 400$, that's nice. I think you might be able to save a lot more next month you won't have a vet bill to pay for. Overall, I find that you are keeping your expenses low, so congrat 😀

It’s crazy to spend almost a 1,000 dollars on a dog that actually makes you her slave because of her anxiety. You feel bad for buying pizza or coffee and the dog blows a hundred times this amount. I’d reconsider having a dog. Sorry, my honest opinion

And this is why you should carefully consider becoming a carer for another living creature :) be it a dog, a child or a goldfish, you need to take into account that the worse could happen and you're taking in a living being that cannot provide for themselves even if they wanted to. As a dog/animal lover, I actually really appreciate it when people look into it and realise it's not for them. No one is happy to spend a lot of money, but for a responsible dog owner that's just how it is and the joy your dog brings into your life is worth it (or, to better phrase it, *you* should consider it worth the effort)
