A person driving a motor vehicle shall, when reasonably necessary to ensure safe operation, give audible warning with the horn, but shall not otherwise use the horn when upon a highway." Using a horn to get someone to let you in is not necessary to ensure safe operation. If someone is cutting you off in the process of them cutting you off and you think they are about to hit you then yes that would be legal. After they have already cut you off and is safely in the lane using the horn at that point is unlawful use of a horn. So while this law isn't enforced regularly or used to pull people over usually they will and can. It's mostly used to pad the charges to plead down later.

He used the horn because the cop didn't see the blinkers in which case that is also a safety thing. There is a lot of grey area in that situation and your "technical" rationale is just stupid. The same cherry picking logic can be applied to the Bugatti driver as well. Please shut up.

Fortunately the American system if used Properly he will win and also the Police will be issued with a non harrassment order, the time without food or drink will be encompassed within any claim! As he was clearly signalling to move lanes the police case will FAIIL any serving Police Officer or any who have served within the last 8 years will know this! AZ cop watch ! The fact that they arrested a business owner who is only helping the local economy, and threw him in jail for 17 hours over some trumped up charges with actual criminals that could easily bring harm to him is complete negligence. A turn signal does not grant you right of way. The car established in the lane moving forward has the right of way. Using the horn in the manner that he did was also unlawful. Not all cops are bad man, there's a bad apple here trying to show his power over a citizen. I went to police academy years ago cause I had a desire to help protect and service my community, but military commitments interfered but then I opted to pursue other venues. My lessons learned after I finishing academy (Peace officer license) was to protect the public and catch the bad guy....-not become the bad guy or create falsities. My guess this guy was not vetted properly and corrected from his previous escapades. Like people said here, the dept needs to be punished with lawsuit if they think his actions are appropriate.

As an active police officer, I would of never arrested you. I would of maybe , just maybe given you a warning and at most a ticket for stopping in the middle of the road. Never arrest. And yes we make over 100k a year. (for all those saying we don’t make that much money) I think it’s decent. I’ve only been a cop for 3 years too with a bachelors degree and bilingual. (This adds a little bit more to our average pay) Either way I support the car scene as long as it’s safe and lawful. People ruin it when they start doing donuts . I’m sure many of you have seen people doing donuts and spectators getting hit by the car. Then there are car meets where the vehicles rev engines at 1 in the morning... it’s not fun for residents living near by... they in turn call is and file complaints... I’m sure the D.A. (District attorney) will not file most of not many of those charges. Goodluck buddy see you tomorrow at cars and copters! 😊

I was harassed by a cop once . Wrote a deposition of my side of the story . Took it to the safety director of the city . The safety director told me he would take care of my complaint and that I would NOT be hearing from the officer again , then cautioned me that I didn't have card blanc to do what ever I wanted ! Never had a problem after that ! Later I learned the cop was taken off day shift and put on grave yard shift , because they didn't want him dealing with the average citizens during regular business hours !

Man, I hope his attorney disputes those charges. Wow. I have a lot of respect for the cops but those charges are crazy. And yes that cop really hated him (likely fueled by the Bugatti) and let that influence his professionalism. He did that during the arrest and then carried that on with the trumped up charges, lack of water, holding him cuffed to a metal bench for multiple hours etc. How many times has this cop done such things before but to folks who cannot afford to dispute it? Probably a lot. I don't think the cop should lose his career over this but this abuse needs to go on his record.

Hey... you're doing an amazing job educating cops to be more "civilized with the civilized" people, i think in many cases they just want to take some coppers from you in a "lawfull" way... GREAT JOB i particularly like your video of the complaint at their office, the officer who received your complaint is way more comprehensive, and fair, 5 stars to him, but the other one that notified you and said he could towe your car, he just didnt did that because he wasn't sure how to process you and if it could turn against him..

yes, i got 4 tickets once, no lawyer one ticket got cancelled 2 they said we'll waive if you agree to speeding so ended up with 92 on a 65 zone

I had a bank manager tell me one time that there are three “Ps” he rarely lends money to, preacher ,principal, policeman. He said 95% of the time they have crap credit! He also said if it’s borderline and he decides to loan them money anyway he always gets burned. I wonder why that is?

Alex Choi's name is not pronounced "Choe" The proper pronunciation of his name is "Chae." His name is a very common last name, just like Smith is here in America. Calling him repeatedly "Choe" is like calling someone named Smith, "Smet." I think Alex is too polite and nice to correct you on how you're destroying his name.
