You need to request his video footage. It will show him adding the speeding to the ticket after you asked him to explain the ticket. They have to release the footage to you, or your lawyer. Hold jackass accountable and make a huge video of it.

The supervisor tripping over himself trying to make excuses for the officer that pulled you over is disgusting and part of the systemic issue. This is so frustrating to watch and hope you continue to follow up with making them accountable.

He TOTALLY added the speeding part after you asked him about the muffler. When you asked him to turn the radio down, he wrote more on the ticket and you can be certain he added the speeding part at that time. He needs to be fired!

1. Officer clearly was targeting, and that's evident from the comment about the Huntington Beach address. 2. He willfully ignored his duties and tried to threaten more repercussions on you. 3. The desk sergeant is definitely trying to avoid any situation regarding the muffler, because I've never heard that your vehicle must be complaint with California state laws even though it is registered elsewhere. 4. It is clearly evident the desk sergeant is attempting to take or place on the officer torres zero accountability in the situation, regardless of the professionalism he showed.

Your ability to remain calm & respectful towards Officer Torres as shown on your videos is very commendable. Officer Torres' behavior undeniably displays his blatant superiority complex when he basically remained silent and simply guestured several times to sign the ticket without stating clearly why you were being ticketed as he would have had to admit that he snuck in the alleged speeding violation which was bogus.

The funny thing is that Torres thinks that he is getting back at Dave, when in reality this episode is generating great content for the channel, making Dave richer, while making himself look like a bigger ass than he already is. This is definitely a lose-lose outcome for the tyrannical officer.

I wanted to dial 911 to ask for a supervisor on site because clearly this officer does not know how to communicate with human beings. Your car has not done anything wrong as long as you have a license, your car is legally registered and you have insurance. when he walked up he said something about your loud exhaust he never said anything about speeding and that's what he's trying to cite you for. He is a deceitful person I would take it to court because I guarantee you will get off

Did anyone else notice that this cop started to retreat into his helmet, his jacket collar got higher up around his neck as he started to resemble a turtle pulling back into his shell hiding behind his microphone all while he had fewer & fewer words to say!! Clearly indications that he definitely DID NOT FEEL THAT WHAT HE WAS DOING WAS RIGHT, HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING WAS WRONG & DIDN'T WANT TO BE RECOGNIZED BY YOU OR ANYONE ELSE! You forgot to mention that he literally bullied/threatened you into signing the ticket. He said you were holding up his investigation by not signing it which is a crime. All before he explained the entirety of the ticket.

He was trying to pass off a speeding ticket after he’d stated he pulled you for exhaust and then realized the Canada/US situation. He even said it very quietly before he walked away and added some verbiage to that ticket. He either went back and added the ‘visual estimation’ part or the exhaust part but he left to add something to it for sure. He was being questioned, asked to explain, and he understood at that point he fucked up… needed to cover his ass. Bet!

I could definitely be wrong about this because I'm no police officer, but I'm pretty sure that even if you're visiting from just another state you don't have to abide by the states laws if you aren't a resident. I live in Oregon and I've driven to California many times and even driven across the country and as far as I'm aware you only have to go by the state laws of where the vehicle is registered. Same as Oregon. We use plates front and rear but if your car is registered somewhere that only requires rear plates you're only required to have rear plates. I drove from Oregon to Georgia with zero issues with a car that had no cats and modified exhaust.

Wow is all I can say .. First off let me say that I’m a recently retired Deputy Sheriff from a large Northern California county . The way you handled yourself by being calm , respectful and polite during the entire traffic stop was really commendable and I’m glad to see we still have respectful citizens as yourself in this chaotic times that we currently live in. The Officer’s actions to me were definitely retaliatory in nature In my opinion because of the evidence you submitted ( prior video 2019). You also verbally articulated the entire situation to the on duty Sergeant at the police station as well. The actions of this Officer were questionable no doubt but the part that really got me a little upset was when he stated to his partner that you were starting to obstruct or that you were obstructing. Basically what he was about to do was arrest you for PC 148 ( delaying/ obstructing a Peace Officer in the performance of his duties) because you were not signing the citation fast enough for him . Even though he refused to explain it to you. Enough of my comment / rant , great video sir 👍🏼

What baffles me the most about this video is the way the Sergeant handled the complaint. He blatantly showed that he was not willing to understand the entire situation. He gave off the vibe that he didn’t care at all about the complaint. Also, the fact that he agreed with saying “don’t think” is a reasonable thing to say is unbelievable. That entire department is suspect.

The loud exhaust code (27150a) only applies to vehicles subject to registration. Your vehicle is not subject to registration because it is already registered in Canada and is owned/driven by a Canadian citizen visiting California as a tourist. He knows it will not stick in court, which is why he added the speeding citation.

New California law just went into effect January 1st: If an officer stops you, his first obligation is to tell you why (what crime) you were stopped.

wow.... I never thought this level of emotional repression(reaction in the 2019 video) was possible. He doesn't even cover it up. The officer needs immediate therapeutic rehabilitation and taken off duty. It's wonderful that you are exposing these issues so that this officer has the opportunity to evolve (or not). It's such a shame that members of the public have to be subjected to this level of abuse. As a healer it is clear to me that this officer has a huge self esteem problem and should not be doing the job he is doing. He is like a walking time bomb.

I doubt California law says "For vehicles registered in California, the following rules apply...blah, blah, blah... Vehicles registered out of state or country have no such restrictions." That's like telling a cop "Yes I have a firearm and that is illegal in this state but I'm a tourist and Concealed Carry is legal in my state" Canadian police often issue drivers from the US and Canada tickets for driving in the HOV lane with no passengers in the car. US drivers say "I'm being ticketed for driving with no passengers in my car in the What??????" 😀

In California as of January 1st, 2024. Police are required to state the reason why they pull you over. Before they can ask for personal information.
