Bugera 333XL Electric Guitar Amplifier Head Demo 

It's rare to a see such a good, in-depth demo from a retailer that isn't super long. Nice vid :)

Got one of these heads. Best amp I've used in almost 30 years. Through a decent cab it rivals Mesa rectos etc. I also run a maximizer through the loop, its fkn brutal. Add some delay etc for leads and its heaven.

I've had this amp for about 2 years... broke down twice (overheating of the tubes)... but since they fixed it properly, it does a great job for metal/rock of any kind... great lows and also solos sound damn straight on this one... Despite having broken down twiche, I'd still buy it again, because of the sound. It's this "modern" kind of distortion, that sets it apart from even high end amps (I have an Engl too).

I own one since december. It did broke down as almost all of them does because of a building failure. It's the power transistor that has a useless plastic part. It melted because of the heat so the tubes couldn't heat up. Some tech guys fixed it like in 10 mins, by connectiong the power transformer right on the board. It works perfectly now. Don't buy one without a warranty, and you won't have any problems at all! Even if it brokes down, it's an easy fix thing.

completely agree! You can get them the same price nowadays if you look around enough - This christmas.. I can't freakin wait :D

I'm not sure if the bugera products being produced these days have this problem or not. But even if they only produce good ones since december I could have got one from the very early ones. But if you buy it with warranty, no things to be worried about, and you get a very badass tube amplifier for a very low price. I really do recommend it.

Smoothest high gain amp out there. The tone is there. Can be bright...or can be very raw and raunchy like in the video.

Love the sound (and price) of this amp, but I'm wondering how loud you have to play 120 watts to make it sound good? I'm not planning on any stadium tours any time soon. Just small rooms and maybe a little outdoor stuff. Is this amp overkill?

hi the bugera 6262 is touted as being based on peavey 5150...what, if any, is this amp based on...thanks..also do u favour this over the 6262?

is this a better metal amp head than the 6262? which head would have better sounding gain channel?

well ive just bought this head and cab, and love it, i also have a peavey cab, and still not sure which one sounds best, the footswitch connection on the head is not the best for long term connections, but otherwise i really love the tone, i got the 6260 and sold it , did not have enough gain like the 333xl . bugera 333xl very pleased iridium 193 the song silurian was recorded with this head

Do you need 1 or 2 cabinets? i was thinking one is enough but two is not required or is it?

I've just bought it...i already have a JVM 210h but i was looking for a consistant metal distortion...after doing some research, tried some mesa rect, peavey jsx and even tried to get down with the gain on some vintage amps but i came out as the best option...will see

Is the bugera cabinet made of wood or particle board? I know the behringer ultra stack with jensens is made of particle board!

@Tangakkai From what I heard is that Bugera fixed the problems on it. I think they are going to re-release a lot of their amps with infinium technology or something like that to expand you tube life. I think that's all going to be for sale around march along with the TriRec.

This amp kicks ass! I don't give a shit about the guy doing the demo. Why make stupid comments about the guy? Didn't he present the amp in a good enough manner? I will be getting the amp, because it's a beast and I believe my band will kick some ass and sound great! So thanks for the demo vid!

Why doesn't the gate work for both the crunch and the lead. It is set in the middle of those 2 channels?

Metal. Like death metal/Metalcore stuff. But I must say that I was using a crappy Ibanez GIO from the store I was in. But a firned of mine had the JSX Head and matching cab and it sound incredibale! Might have had something to do with what tubes he had in it but

The 333XL eats the JSX. Check out my clips, its a metal monster with the right cab and if you dial it right.

This one is more like a peavey triple x (now 3120) mixed with a mesa dual rectifier. The 6260 is more or less a peavey 6505, and the 6262 is more or less a peavey 6505+

Well 6262 might be more brutal but as you've stated, you play a variety of genres. The 6262 isn't near as versatile as the 333xl. The crunch can get you from country even to some really heavy stuff, and if that's not enough, there you have the lead channel. Tweaking the knobs and playing with the volume knob of your guitar and the pickup-selection is also very important. I'd go for the 333xl.

Its obviously based on the JSX how its designed and laid out, however tone wise its more like a Mesa recto. Check out my clips, you'll see what I mean.

It sounds better than the JSX I think. I've played the JSX and it was way to thin sounding. I havn't played this head but it has a great sound (For a youtube video anyway)

The vypyr series from peavey are great, though they aren't tubed.

fast forward this to 1:10 and play til 1:12 then keep replaying it from there. LMFAO!

@guitdude09 hmmm thats funny... because i've had mine for 2 years and never once had any problems. i've gigged it MANY times, and not any problems... maby it was just yours. i would 100% recomend this amp to anyone who wants a powerful great sounding amp without paying Big bucks

the 333xl is based of the jsx, the 333 is the triple x

no, the 6260/6262 is more high gain. this is one is to my opinion more made for different styles.

Not trying to sound like a troll but these guitar amp demo's are literally the worst I have ever seen. Borderline hard to watch. He doesn't play anything for more than a few seconds and makes it very hard for the viewer/listener to hear any kind of note clarity, complexity of the gain or how the gain reacts to different picking styles let alone the different tones achievable by the amplifier He did a good job of stating the features of the amp but I do not think any of these reviews give the amps justice.

I'd love to own a dual rec but the only way that would happen would be second hand or found in at the landfill site haha

You definitely want to swap the tubes upon getting one of these amps. Honestly the Bugera EL-34 P.S. leave alot to be desired and do not do this amp any justice. I recommend getting GT-6L6 Groove tubes, And preamp tubes for this head. I'm running only two tubes at a time with a Noise Compressor and a Tube Screamer; The tone gets up to par with my buddies 6505. Needless to say this amp is something that CANNOT give you what you need on its own, unless if you just like playing clean with some reverb. Don't let this fucking Pleb fool you with this reveiw. Their really good heads.

Looks like a Parker singlecut... but I'm not 100% because I remember the headstock looking different... but the body looks just like a Parker singlecut...

mine was broken when I got it :) made very evil noise. Send it back for repairs ... but it sounded good (the 30 minutes it worked :D )

I've tried one of them, it's a great looking and great sounding amp. Too bad the footswitch broke up 24h after inboxing ("heavy duty footswitch" ahah) and now I get a little distortion in the clean channel and no full distortion at 10 on the lead after 8 mouths. A lot of people post negative comments without knowing anything about the amp but trust me when I say this amp is some serious chinese crap.

Its almost like every guitarist that presents a demo of an amplifier automatically has a "guitar store" sound preset with the typical "guitar store" riffs.

@bobcatmonster hounestly i dont think so, Burgera have a reputation for breaking, hovever i think that if they were made in there they would sell alot more, and therefor have more money for making quality:)

Oddly enough it doesnt say in the video " Caution, these amps tend to spontaneously combust with lots of playing for an extended period of time"

supposedly they use cheaper components and and are made in china.. it does sound good. just dont know how reliable it will be. Have heard stories already about them crapping out

I guarantee if they started making bugera's in the States, they would cost just as much as Marshalls, Boogies ect...

i didnt realize you were an australian, forgive me. no, the Alchemist line is apparently more in the 1,000 dollar range, which is admittedly a bit overpriced. jet city just came out here in america, and the price range is like, 200-300 dollars for the 20w. that being said, i would throw it against almost ANY amp

get a 6505+ or 5150. don't mess around with bugera. they are just made to compete with the original peavey amps.

i dont know why people bitch about it being chinese made. even the best amps have a good portion of their hardware made over seas and assembled in the usa. i honest to god cannot find a better amp than this for the price

I'd say peavey has their own sound. Nobody buys a peavey to get a "marshall" or "boogie" sound. You buy a peavey to get a peavey sound. And just because the price tag isn't outrageous, doesn't make it an "indecent" amp. 6505+ is a wicked good amp. Just because it's $1100 doesn't make that not true. And it has to do with application. I wouldn't spend $3800 on a Soldano SLO-100 to play metal just because it's more expensive. I'd go with a 6505+ all the way.
