I don't understand how so many people post videos on youtube with their guitars out of tune! Even a $5,000 guitar and $2,000 amp will sound like shit when out of tune..

TO be fair, this was back when TKK's guitar skills were not so great but he has greatly improved. He has helped me alot when deciding on gear. Great classic vid

Seriously, we were kids rocking Aerosmith, Nugent, and Rush at 17/18 in the mid 70's. The only amp demos we did were at gigs. And it was a blast.

After playing a V22 Bugera are now my absolute favorite amps and I plan to have one soon. I'll possibly spring a bit extra for the V55. Rich and creamy clean and the dirty channel is beautifully crisp and provides just enough bite with out being over bearing or muddy. The tones that you can get out these amps are amazing and you cannot beat the price. Anything from Texas blues to a nice Eddie Van Halen Brown sound. The perfect amp for me. Great review.

I've bought the V55HD (already have a 2x12 celestion cab), because of this review and it replace my Hot Rod Deluxe. I use it all the time, on stage, at home (my neighbours must hate me) or in studio. Great amp, thanks for this video !

I've always liked this amp. Great amp regardless of price, but the fact that it is affordable too makes it a little sweeter... Just plug your LP in and rock away... Awesome review TK, cheers brother.

After reading all the comments I have to say, if you listen to this review with studio monitors it is pretty accurate. It is a very good amp. An excellent value for the money spent.

I bought a V55 Combo and the amp itself is probably one of the best deals there is for a tube amp. The speaker was awful however. I tried several different speakers and the best, to me anyway, was an Eminence Delta A. The amp I demo'd sounded ok, but the speaker in mine was real harsh, especially on the gain channel. However I love this guy now !!

I almost got this amp... But Great vid! Just something I would like to see- Most people buying this amp would be playing classic rock and be playing LP's, Teles, strats, SG's, guitars with p-90's and etc. It would be cool if you did these amp demos on guitars like those. Nice vid!

Yup. I've got the head (about 3 weeks ago) going into a 2-12. It sounds great. I'm sure the snobs are out there, don't care. This is a great tube amp.

Thank God someobody finally understands how to make a proper amp demo...by turning off the talk mic so we don't hear the acoustic sound of pick-strike on the strings and too much room.

Ok, so when you change to OD, the sertings on your bass , gain, mids etc. Remain the same? I just bought the head version with the 212 turbosound cab, got it for 1/3 rd the cost, so where do i set my triode-pentode switch, my 4,8,16 ohms on head, and what input on cab, the left 8 ohms stereo, or 16 ohms mono, and if i wanna run an additional cab,,which i will whats the configuration for that

i had the best amply from head to combo in my life. i bought jcm 800, 1959 slp, yjm 100, jcm 2000, mesa boogie rectifier and f 50, randall, peavey, hughs, laney gh50 etcetc.. but bugera v 55 is the best amply that is the best I've ever had.. really incredible.. im find my sound only now..

Just installed a set of jj tubes in mine ordered the SRV set from eurotubes changed the amp so much it was ok now it's pretty good speaker swap next.

Nice demo, nice amp. I have the V55 HD head. Love it. To your ears, does the Pentode/Triode switch have much effect on tone?? It seems to reduce the power but can't decide if it has a great effect on the over all sound.

Just for info: now this has been followed by the V55 Infinium that promises an automatic biasing and optimization on the tubes to make them lasting a lot longer (I can't remember which set, maybe preampli) and they have a Turbosound loudspeaker. I have read somewhere that only V1 tube swapping matters, since it is the one taking care of the preampli section. I have not yet tried mine, bought a little days ago, with stock tubes. It still needs the loudspeaker to be correctly loosened. If somebody has something to suggest, he is really appreciated.

how well does the clean channel stay clean as the volume is turned up? And am I right in thinking that a 55 watt head (I'm looking at getting the V55HD) through a 4x10 or 4x12 is loud enough for gigs?

It should get over a drummer for sure. My V22 does and even stays clean. Fender bassman stay clean at high volume and are only 50 watts

I have the V55HD with the matching 212 cabinet. The guy I bought it from replaced the tolex with a dark burgundy and did an AWESOME job! It looks amazing with the cream front panel...

yo ttk! do you think you could do a vid of this amp or the head if you have one with the master all the way up and use the channel volume to control the volume? ive been hearing that it helps and i always turn to you for good tone, and if you could play some drop tuned heavy technical stuff id love you forever ( more than i already do) thanks!

Hey very nice review, I am looking to pickup an amp and don't have a ton of cash laying around. I stumbled on to this amp and love the clean tones! My question, how well would it work with a Boss GT-8 board? For most of what I'll be playing I want the sound of "blues" to early "rock-n-roll", that being said I have some songs that require a little more distortion, sustain, etc. (thus the GT-8) Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi there, I have a question Mr. Tone King. I bought this amp few days ago and it's awesome but there's one thing that I don't like, when I'm playing, in the background there's sound like somebody is shaking a blown out lightbulb - only much louder. Is that normal or .. ? (and sorry about my bad english) Thanks : )

Hey TK ,I have a Bugera V55 head I run through 2 4-10 Marshall cabs and I love this thing. Except for shitty stock tubes this is a great sounding rig. After some good tubes and a re-bias it sounds awesome. It excepts pedals very well , I mod Boss and Ibanez pedals and they sound superb through this amp on the clean channel. Mike

@adairrpb The 4 cable method applies to mfx units that basically allows you to use your amps pre-amp and have effects before and after the pre-amp. Ie. you can assign DS/OD before the preamp and delay after pre-amp etc. This is very important in order to obtain the ultimate tone out of FX gear. eg, you wouldn't want your delay before the preamp or you would get distorted delay see. It basically allows you to move effects anywhere in the chain that you wish.

@adairrpb That is up to you, there are advantages and disadvantages when it comes to combos and heads. I have the combo version, it suits me well for what I need. If your into metal maybe a 333xl or a 6262 are more apropriate for you, ie if your planing on using your amps channels for most of your stuff. If on the other hand you are wanting to fronend your amp with pedals etc then either V55/V55HD will suit you perfectly. Keep in mind that a tube amp will outgun most solid state amps.

The high channel is not really bad at all. The problem is the amp settings he used and the recording device. Take a look at the mids, he's got them cranked, and then adds even more. To get a better high gain, more hard rock or metal tone, most amps need to roll the mids back below the 12 o'clock point to accentuate the crunch. Also, you can hear the recording device cutting the input signal as it's pretty loud. It sounds like he's going straight into a video camera mic in with auto gain. NO.

I love your reviews, you are nothing if not comprehensive. I don't need a Joe Bonamassa tutorial, I want to hear T-O-N-E!!!!! - Screw the detractors, your not cutting an album for Christ's sake. I just want to hear the stuff getting run through their proverbial paces, and this I feel you do very well. Bugera should love you too, as I am just about to buy one of those bad boys off of Ebay....Color me SUBSCRIBED

I have the V55 head version of this amp & the gain channel sounds great -but only if the master is up past 6. Chunky as hell with a 4X12. Has a very 70s heavy rock sound. And it is LOUD.

I just purchased the V55 within the last 3 weeks. It started with a sweet warm tone but has now began 2 sound distorted/muted at very low volumes while on the clean setting. A loud buzzing noise has started without any instrument hookup. In addition, the gain setting now sounds muddy. I'm not sure what happened. I'm waiting 4 return paperwork 2 either exchange or refund. Has any1 else experienced these issues?
