Should talk about different connectors SC LC & then MM - SM styles. Explain that with Fiber, its all measured in DB, the goal it to get the LEAST amount of loss. Good video willie.
Hey Willie, this is an awesome series. Great for folks who want to into this. I want to ask, from a security perspective, when using a PON, how do you make sure that customers can’t snoop on each others traffic since splitters are like hubs in that they copy through all strands?
In the next video when you get to connecting everything up and configuring it, could you use both the Ubiquiti equipment for the normal CPE's they sell, as well as the UFiber Instant plugged directly into a UDM-SE WAN port (the Instant is a CPE built into an SFP form factor), and use some off brand FS GPON and XGSPON ONU Sticks directly in a UDM SE WAN port? That way we can see how to configure regular end points, the official stick in other Unifi equipment, and what needs to be configured when going with 3rd party equipment at the premises. The GPON ONU Stick part is GPON-ONU-34-20BI, and the XGSPON ONU Stick part is XGS-ONU-25-20NI
