DIY project of building my own automatic watch using parts I got from eBay and AliExpress. This video shows the assembly process of the new watch.
This custom watch is based on the unknown AliExpress brand called Longteng Century. The model on the case back is LT51808G. The design is of a classic dress watch, a little boring for my taste. So I bought it for modding, paid 119 USD. It is on the smaller side with external diameter of 38.5mm. Thickness is 10.4mm, strap size is 20mm. The head weight is 51 grams. The strong point is the high beat 28800 reliable ST2130 movement, fully compatible with ETA 2824-2.
The dial was sent from a Cairo based eBay store. I know nothing about its origin. There is no brand, it just says Quartz above the 6 and Swiss Made at the bottom. The printing is good and it’s beautiful with the circular brushing. It has some elements from the Vario Empire dial, but this is much older than the Vario. There are retro elements, similar to watches from the 50's.
