This is part 5 of the nightstand series where I build the drawer boxes and install them with the slides. Enjoy!
Standard Disclaimer: Putting your soft, squishy fingers near powerful sharp spinning things is dangerous. I've been doing this for a while and I know what I'm doing but even I'm not invincible. I take a lot of safety precautions based on my level of experience and not all of them are shown on camera. Don't do anything you aren't comfortable with. If it makes you nervous you're probably doing it wrong. Don't do anything stupid. Reapply sunscreen often and floss before bed. Is anyone actually still reading this?

Very nice. I think helpers in the shop are great reminders of why we do what we do. Thanks for including them on the video. Can’t wait for the next episode. You’ve kept me intrigued for quite a while now.

Great involvement with the kids. You need to introduce them to the joys of sanding. Then soon, you can move to the enriching lawn mowing.

And will you be doing another shop tour or tool review on any new tools. I also love how involved you get your kids I wish my dad did that with me , but I found the hobby woodwork & diy by myself it’s good how you encourage them.

Great job dude! I will NEVER understand the logic of the " system.. I mean 18 5/16" instead of 464mm (or 46.4cm)

Marcus Östlin I agree with you 100%. It’s pretty stupid. I would gladly convert in a second but it’s what we’ve got. 😖🙄

keyeskennard there are lots of other people who have made similar versions and probably even have plans on the internet if you do a search. It’s not my original design. There’s more info about it on my Shop Tour video.

Us clueless woodworkers make nightstands and picture frames and we think we're hot stuff. Your kids make mammoths! You know how long science have trying to clone extinct animals?? Neither do I, but imagine a long while and they still haven't succeeded. I will never take any pride in my woodworking again :-)

Hazem Bata I know right?! It’s been difficult keeping them fed though and our air conditioning bill has skyrocketed.

This is a great build, but,...what are we building again?? Nightstands? End tables? Kinda lost track

Blake Weber I’m sorry, I didn’t read the title and I didn’t mean to troll you, my humor is lacking. I apologize

Hooper57 no worries! Sorry I thought you were being sarcastic but that’s not the case. I should be finishing these up soon, I just need to edit the last video.

Blake Weber I just want you to know that I not only respect your skills as a woodworker but I envy them as well. As a card carrying night owl I watch these vids Very late, or early, as time zones dictates. You were right to ream me out because of my lame attempt at “humor “ After re-reading my post I realized what a .....”douche” ...I sounded like. Again, my sincerest apologies. I very rarely comment and this is why! Damn! I gotta admire your come back though!! I pity the actual Troll who takes you on!!!

DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT... seriously I felt bad for snapping back at you but I was also up late responding and I had read a couple negative comments earlier about how I'm not building these things fast enough for some people lol. So It was a perfect storm. I apologize as well and thanks for the support.

What do you use to change your TS blade? Is that a piece of leather?
@weberwoodshop

Yep! Just a scrap of leather with a grommet to hang it with.

#GoodDadding Love your editing. You are also super patient. I too have limited time in the shop but I always feel like I have to hurry because of that. You seem to be able to keep it slow and careful. I guess that's why your stuff is gorgeous and mine is... not.

Random Question: when you use your Rigid Oscillating Belt Sander, does it build up static electricity on you? Mine does it a lot and I don’t know if that’s normal or not.
@weberwoodshop
@weberwoodshop 6 лет назад
Brandon White I’ve never heard of the sander itself building static but the dust collection hose absolutely will build static. Do you have a vac hose connected? That’s probably the source of the static.
@bwhite220
@bwhite220 6 лет назад
Blake Weber, yes sir, dust collection is hooked up to it. I’ll try without the dust collection to see if I get the same thing. Thanks, B!
