So you're tired of losing arrows? Look no further. I built an archery back stop just under $200. In this video you will see the supplies you need and how effective this back stop is.

You're choice in background music is what engaged me....and then you're carpentry prowess.....kudos.

Really cool idea . I’ve been looking for something to put behind the target for the long range shots.

great video I copy your back stop and it came out nice just like yours. I watch a lot of videos for back stops, and I thought yours was the best on using the horse stable mat. It's sturdy and strong thanks again for sharing a great project,

Spray a little water with dish soap around the arrows after they hit the mat to pull them out a little easier.

Having access to FREE 2"x4"s I think I will try to simulate your backstop and I will let you know how that goes. Thanks for the great video and nice shooting BTW.

What if you wanted a static backstop that you can mount targets on? This one is made to be loose on the sides/bottom. Also I use cedar shafts not carbon fiber...so I’d want something the arrows didn’t stick to like this...

Animalpak for life.

I built according the to your measurements Issues: gap at the bottom, I found just pulling arrows back out with field tip is fine and easier. But that being said it works great unless you miss low

Yea this was my first build and I have targets that sit on the ground so they cover the gap at the bottom. Thanks for watching my video though.

Gonna do the same with PVC Piping for the frame

What is your draw weight? How far should I place this from the wall to ensure I don't hit the concrete block in my garage? I can only get about 20 yards and shoot anywhere from 55-70 lbs. Will this be good for that?
@meant_for_more
@meant_for_more 3 года назад
superhero6785 I’m shooting at 65lbs and I don’t miss at 20yds to where I hit the rubber stop but I have done it just to test it and my arrows maybe came out 3in at most so just make sure you have maybe two feet between the wall and the backstop to be safe. Thanks for the question, happy shooting 💪🏽🏹

Did I miss how you connected it to the top?

The rest of the frame is 4x4s but the top is (2) 2x4s with the mat pinched between, and bolts holding it all together.

Good idea. 4x4 may be little overkill though

Yea it is a bit heavy but it’s great if you are gonna set it somewhere and leave it
@TooTallOutdoors

does it mess up your arrows when they get shot into the back stop?
@meant_for_more
@meant_for_more 2 года назад
No it doesn’t just gotta hold your arrows good when you pull them out but I hardly hit the backstop with all my targets I have now

That’s great for compound bows but my 380 ft./s crossbow would fly right through that rubber I think

Maybe at close range 🤷🏻‍♂️ thanks for watching my video though

Just double it up, the bolts definitely wouldn't get through 2 layers, especially if spaced a few inches apart.

But no mention about the most important part. The rubber backstop. What is it? Don't you think it would have been good to mention what you used?

That lumber is most definitely pressure treated. It’s super green.

He did. It's a 3/4" barn stall mat.
