My attempt to build a case for a 1U HP Proliant SE316M1 server resulted in a nice wooden coffin. As you can clearly see, the desktop server case we built looks much more like something you would send your server off in than it does a aesthetically pleasing computer case.
In this episode of AACAT, we are going to finish up the wooden server case build and run some tests.

I think you should take out the components from the actual case and build another one, like DIYPerks does. That way you could reduce the noise and give it the shape you want.

Thank you for this video. It lets me know that I’m not the only one who is truly inadequate at making DIY projects that look good. The worst part is that you put a lot of effort into something and the result is so bad that you should have done nothing at all.

Personally I think it looks good. I mean yea it COULD look better with some smoothing out and other detailing, but to be blunt? Be proud of what you have made here.

Looks to me that you gave a complete computer an outer chassis around the chassis instead of having the internals directly inside of the built chassis that might help with a few things such as the thermals and room for improvements of the computer to keep running. Would recommend large fans for noise reduction.

HP is very picky about what hardware us used. You cant use any fans other than HP 1U fans, or it will complain and run fans at 100% and sometimes refuse to boot

Don't make a wooden case to put on your desktop to put the existing case in. Make the wooden case an actual stand alone desk to put the existing case in. And it's pronounced U Ni Gine, not UnEngine.

Ahhh, someone else also suggested that. I like that idea! Oh man, I even looked the pronunciation up on the internet to make sure I got it right. Guess the site I found had it wrong.

@@AAComputersandTechnology I went to that site and it did not say Un Engine. It said Un I Gine but with the short U like run instead of the long U as in you.
