Everything is looking as square and as true as you can get it so far.... Keep up the good work, Phillip... She’s getting there... Sure hate that a lot of the original parts were scrapped,, makes it costly and time consuming trying to find replacements.... Looking forward to seeing you starting on the floors...

Lookin great Phil. The job you have done to get the body level and plumb is crazy impressive! I’ve never seen something not be at least .1 off somewhere. Keep up the great work.

I just feel like if I don't have everything level and square that fabricating and welding pieces in will result in things being off in the end. Kind of like building a house on a out of square foundation. Everything has to be off from that point on to fit.

You are doing a great job I always look forward to your videos every week thanks for sharing your journey.I bought my 30-31 5 window that was taken apart many years ago and put on a pallet piece by piece and missing a few pieces I finally found some b posts I’m going to get maybe this week. I’m building a 327 with a 5 speed and a 9 inch with 350 gears like just about everyone else and full fender that’s what I feel in love with back in 1972 I just retired so it’s time to get started.

Sounds like you have some work ahead of you. It will be a fun and rewarding project. Congrats on retirement!. I work all day, then go home at night and work on my cars. I wish I had more time to devote to it. Thanks for sharing. All the best to you with your project! Thanks for watching and commenting!

I will have to go back to the beginning of this build and follow along -- I have a '28 Roadster that needs parts made or purchase as I see you have already done. So --- you have a new Subscriber ---- Thank You --- Rodney

For any of you that may not know, those slotted openings allow for alignment adjustments as you tighten down the bolt or screw.
@phillipshotrodgarage
@phillipshotrodgarage Год назад
Correct, I failed to mention that they were for adjustment. The slotted holes were really only of any use during the initial installation at the factory. When they got them in place, then installed the rivet, they were locked down permanently where they were. I assume that Ford didn't want to take the time to fit the braces to the car as I did, so stamping them with the adjustments would have made them more universal, and faster to install on the assembly line. So, for me, I really didn't need the adjustability. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Looks good! Those will sure stiff the body. Is your plan to fabricate whole floor pans from seat to back, or just the trunk panels?
@phillipshotrodgarage
@phillipshotrodgarage Год назад
I plan to fabricate the pans in sections between the crossmembers. I will fabricate all of them myself, and wont be using any of the original ones. I hope I correctly understood what you were asking.
@1fknhpycmpr355
@1fknhpycmpr355 Год назад
@@phillipshotrodgarage Yeah, thats what i figured out that you'll make the panels in sections. Just wondering is there a need for tunnel or a hump for the driveshaft?
@phillipshotrodgarage
@phillipshotrodgarage Год назад
I don't think I will need a tunnel. I should only need a hump over the transmission. I wont be able to complete the front floor pan section until I get the engine and transmission set in place.
@1fknhpycmpr355
@1fknhpycmpr355 Год назад
@@phillipshotrodgarage Allrite. Yeah, its an impossible to task to make those front panels without engine and tranny mocked on the frame. Looking forward to see the next video!

Where did you find the new aftermarket body braces?
@phillipshotrodgarage
@phillipshotrodgarage Год назад
I bought them from Howell’s sheetmetal. I picked them up from them at a swap meet they were at. I’m not sure if they are shipping out parts now or not, I’ve heard conflicting stories.
