Building a Ryzen 5 3600 Gaming PC! 

If I had to criticise myself here I'd say maybe add a better motherboard if budget allows, install a front fan in the case and use 2 gpu connector cables not just the one 👍. P. S I've always said backplate and I'm sorry haha.

I just want to say that you're the only person i trust when building my PCs. I do watch other tech youtubers like gamer's nexus but they're not the best at reviewing budget oriented builds.

GREAT VIDEO - covers all the points ! Not prima donna tech tuber wait til embargo lifts show pieces with lots of editing and B-roll . RGHD actually went and bought parts & did a COMPLETE video. I subscribed -so refreshing, useful and good attention to detail. I am so sick of wading through snobby tech tubers, who buy nothing, pontificate on the proper color schemes of the mainboards , ram & cases that were comped by mfgs to find out if the game stutters or chugs at 60fps in the higher settings . These better than us tech tubers have stated repeatedly that they make more $$ off the videos than selling the parts when done soooo - every topic now becomes like 5 videos : 1-picking parts and listing , 2-unboxing, 3- building , 4-benching and 5-give away drawing video . This PC is alot like how WE build . I want a fast enough CPU to run the discounted video card and while im at it lets freshen up the PS . This is not a garbage board or build - it is a working solution - without a HUGE investment of time or $$ he can jump on the next item that catches his eye and move the mainboard , video or case out ..I suspect he will keep the PS it is top line . Or you can buy a b450 tomahawk which has a flashback button and it has one of the vrms

Damn the performance numbers are insane !!! especially for the price, i dont think i would call this a mid range pc its much more capable than that but it is in a mid range price.Also its funny you got the msi rx vega56 airboost, i just got that card 10days ago for only 240euros.(insane value gpu) The only minor thing u have to do because its limited out of the box its to go to wattman - custom profile instead of balance mode and then press AutoUndervolt,that should help a ton! (i have mine undervolted manually for best results to 1020mv on p7 state and i can reach 1550mhz under load also overclocked the hbm2 memory to 950mhz (got lucky my gpu came with samsung)and the performance is even better with temperatures in check. edit : i also just noticed your single core performance on cinebench its extremely low probably bios issues expect even better results in the future

Thanks for the nice tutorial. Have very similar parts laying here ready to build a backup PC, including a 3600 and the Versa H15 case. Plan on using two front and two top fans, but still am a bit concerned over how the thermals will turn out. At any rate, am sure having watched this will help make things proceed a bit quicker and easier.

Questions galore: - How noisy is the Air Boost? - Did you undervolt the said Vega 56? - Have you tried StoreMI on 2nd gen AM4 boards and up? - Have you tried GD GD900 Thermal Grease from AliExpress? - What is Dave eating?

Can you compare the 3600 to the 2600 and 1600?

It's nice to see you finally have a professional quality content creator PC. I would suggest putting two 120MM fans in the front panel of that case though.

Why not just get a 450 or x470 mobo? There are some great budget options out there that work out of the box with Ryzen 3000 CPUs

Using older mobos isn't recommended(first gen mobos had very hit or miss mem speeds stability) I would go b450 and up.

The new ryzen chips need more affordable motherboards! I don't want to mess about flashing the bios.

Great video and build. I hope you have good luck with the biostar motherboard, I've had horrible luck with their boards in the past.

Fantastic build I also got that msi Vega 56 card with 3 free AAA games for £250 brand new back in May fantastic performance and not as loud and hot as people say. It’s also ideal for that small case as it kicks the hot air out the back rather than blowing it around the case.

Building your PC under water is fine. Just dry it properly before switching it on.

are you going to make this your main system? the R5 3600 can beat the i5 9400F in both single and multi core performance.

Building your PC underwater shouldn't be a problem. Just put a water bottle on top of the case and you're good!

Wait , can't you just update the bios with the files on the USB ? Why do you you need to boot into windows ??

I have that case and I have to say the quality is shockingly poor and there is hardly any room for cable management, and mine came with a bent side panel

Actually what amazes me is that we still use those small connectors for the power button and leds - just as i remember doing it in 1993...amazing that there is no standard for those still in 2020!!

Btw it's an I/O shield.Not a back plate.The back plate are the plate behind the motherboard :D.I know a lot of techies revered to it as a back plate but it kinda erks me :P

Your single core in cb r15 is only 164 points, it should be closer to 190~200 points. So something is wrong with your setup.

I bought a 5700 XT, but It was pretty much a dud, so I had to RMA it.

I'm a bit surprised both by the choice of chipset and CPU, but the end result is interesting. It's really cool to see how well that brand spankin new CPU fits into a PC that's essentially made of 2017 hardware.

Just built a ryzen 5 3600x and gtx1080 build a month ago. It was my first build and I've been very happy with it. Got my 1080 gently used for 250 usd. Been very happy with PC gaming as a whole coming from xbox. The higher frame rates are great, but mods are what have made it worth it to me.

I like the video and the build :) Keep it up . The one thing i disagree on is to still use the "normal" 1 tb hard drive. I really think that nowadays ssds are so cheap that there is absolutly no reason to use this slow storage anymore, not even for data you use very frequently.

All of us probably know about PCs a lot and have building experience. Yet all of us still enjoy watching PCs beeing built.

Excellent performance & value with the 3600. I put one into my build w/32 gigs gskill flareX, Msi b-450, WD sn750 m.2 & a rx 580. Last X-mas I gifted myself a 6600xt for a sweet gpu upgrade. Games such as Doom, Calisto Protocol, Anno 1800, WoWs ect., are super fluid. If you want to keep an eye on things I recomend Core Temp & TechPowerUp gpu-Z to monitor your jazz.

The Thermaltake micro ATX case series is really good, would like to see a review of the H18 tempered glass version from you as it's a cheap but really good case.

Those parts that you removed from the backplate should actually be touching the top of the ports. That way they work as a grounding measure, to protect those ports from a static discharge.

I had a 2600 and just picked up the r7 3700x, and a PPT nodded VEGA56, all on a custom water loop. Scoring a 21,150 in firestrike, very nice.

I got a Ryzen 5 3500 with a gtx 1650 and this thing smashes, I'm not sure if it can compete with the 3600 because of the extra threads but this guy is an absolute god, I can play Cyberpunk at high no problem

this cpu cooler is a must, I love mine! i'll never replace it for nothing ^__^
