I've had numerous people ask me about my solar powered fan hat, here is the link amzn.to/48NtFTq That is an affiliate link, I do earn a small commission but it doesn't cost you any extra. It works best with short hair or a bald head, if sweaty you feel a cool breeze across your scalp. It's a conversation piece for sure 😂
@@jp34604it's solar powered only, no battery. Works best with short hair or bald head to feel the breeze. Here is my affiliate link for the hat, it's not sponsored and I bought mine off of Amazon amzn.to/48NtFTq
Unconventional framing - not in my book, makes total sense. Strong - you betcha! A little extra cost - your peace of mind is priceless. Every time I watch you build I learn some new tips on working alone. I really liked the painting trick for the door - that was great!👍💜 👍💜 👍💜
Tip. When setting big posts in holes use a long scrap piece of 1x4 and u can walk the posts up into the hole and never have to lift it up. The 1x4 let's the post slide in the hole without taking dirt with it.
Nice build for sure , over do is what you do and I like it . Great job as always and saved some money and built stronger than the bought sheds for sure . 👍🏼 👍🏼👍🏼
You've got a lot more faith in those nails than I would have. I would have wanted everything glued and screwed, even some through bolts just to be safe, good luck though.
Here in PR when I build something using wood always we use the huracaine anchor and I dont use nails only screws eve when Maria hit us my House was build in wood and doesn't get any damage but anyway you have done an excellent job
Stout shed. On the floor just, many structures have been end nailed. If they won’t support any weight, why not mount the hangers, place the joists and save a bunch of 16b nails. Great idea on keeping bugs out. Will you put something to keep critters from getting underneath?
Because lumber has varying sizes. It's best to flush the Joist first, nail and then add the hanger. I'm planning on rocking all the way around, hopefully that keeps digging animals out.
Honestly this is what we did when framing houses. We’d mount the hangers on the ground then set the beams or sill’s then drop the joists in. The hangers flex enough to make it work.
Oh yes, I've learned that you can say "It doesn't have to be perfect" but I didn't believe you for a second! Of course everything has to be perfect or OCD kicks in🤣. That looks much stronger than someone's house or storm shelter and not ugly at all:)))
I'm going to he!! for thinking this, but I kinda sorta wanted to see you hit your thumb with the hammer and do the hand wave, kiss, "AH, OH, OH, SSHHHHH, AH..." dance while trying not to curse. 😂 Great build and video. Thank you!
I didn't see a need. I attached the purlins well and placed screws around 5 inches apart at the tins edge where lifting can occur. I also screwed the tin into the 6x6 posts.
We built a house in 1980 sided with T111 and it still looks great. We added a garage in 2003 with T111 and that stuff is in bad shape. Maintained with the same paint and in the same environment so I've experience good and bad results with the product. Just curious if you are concerned about armadillo digging under this shed.

From somebody that has mostly watched and learned building techniques and ideas, is there a reason that you waited until you had the floor joists installed before putting the hanger on? Are these floor joists (a few inches off the ground) different than hanging say rafters for a roof/second floor since there’s not support of the ground to rest them on the reason you waited? Thanks! Also, love the fan hat!
@@TKCL thanks! I remember building a shed for my parents with my grandpa when I was 15 years old and we didn’t put any additional supports under the floor joists. My parents just replaced the entire shed a couple years ago (so it stood for almost 20 years!) and put a concrete base in, rather than redo it in this similar manor. But not because the flooring gave way, but because the sides had began to leak and fail over time. Kind of cool to see how much construction has advanced over the last 20+ years since I built any thing of significance! Thanks for the clarification 😊
Sweet! Just click your heels 👠 😂 Don't forget to piggyback the LAN, add the orange conduit for the house to shop fiber run to terminate at the walk in closet corner to rendezvous with the ISP penetration point preparation work. To follow the çell antenna external earth ground wire path to the attic inside of a piece of externally mounted grey non-metallic flexible electrical conduit. And while you're at it, a junction box for a future optional grid tie and fiber run to the chopshop somewhere along the path across to the pool or big oak, burying a 3.5 or a 5 gallon gamma seal screw top bucket lid ought to do nicely for both on the cheap. Kill multiple / all birds with one trenching session / mess near the house, once and for all! Also maybe a triangular run to the 240 circuit and a water tap at the well head for flexibility? Last chance to work smarter not harder for all this subterranean infrastructure connectivity with your civil engineering hat on before you put your landscaping hat on, it's now or practically never at 10x the effort and expense! Imho. Congrats 👏
Around $1300, you can definitely build for less than I did due to the way I built. FYI I called a local company. A similar size less robust shed delivered was $2500.

Why not just build to standard wood sizes 8x8? Why cut off Foot each side?. I also assume the well house was not included in a master plan. Just hide it behind the fence. Love the many different direction the channel is headed. If you can't find content to suit you, your not looking LOL.
I could have done 7x8,but I hate irregular sizes like that. I did not go wider because I wanted the privacy fence to meet the corner of the shed and it couldn't be any wider due to the AC unit in the background being close to the fence. I want the fence and shed to be in line for the solar panel array that's going behind the fence.
