You guys are doing an awesome job! I wish I had known about all these before putting up any building in Ghana. I'm having a lot of water issues with my first project in Ghana. The second one, I may have issues because I don't think the builder may have used the right DPM. No DPC was used. What width of DPC do you use? Any recommendations for the dimensions of DPM and DPC? You guys will definitely get my next projects God willing. My other question is that: Is the foundation with the waterproof coating applied on Concrete OR Foundation blocks? Thanks.

Thank you ! Such kind words, we would be happy to help you in the future do get in touch on email or mobile for a chat in +233 257029792 I'm sorry to hear about your water issues. Is this causing rising dampness along the walls? We see this a lot. There are remedies available to address this, instead of using stone or tiling cladding, which is commonly done and does not resolve the underlying issue. There are suitable waterproofing products which we can recommend so do get it touch. Regarding the DPC, the width of the block determines the recommended measurements: 150mm for 6” blocks and 225mm for 8” blocks. The DPM comes in two sizes based on specifications: 300mu 4mm x 25mm and 500mu 4mm x 12.5mm. The bitumen waterproof coating was applied solely to the blockwork. However, waterproof additives were added to all concrete works in the foundation.

Thanks so much for the quick response to my questions. I guess the DPM specifications are: 300mu 4m x 25m and 500mu 4m x 12.5m? For the dampness solution, I want to reach out to Pora Ventures to see if they can visit my project and make recommendations to fix the problem. Hello, Thank you for the support. There are two specifications available depending on the ground conditions: 300mu (1200 gauge) and 500mu (2000 gauge). These are commonly stocked by most building materials suppliers in the UK.
