Hey man, I love watching your vids. You give simple, no-nonsense, but honest commentary. No of this “I don’t use this product cos it’s rubbish” excuse, you just say what you’re using and how. And your builds come out real smart!
Thanks. Some people post videos to show off and some just wants to contribute to the model kit community. I've been posting for over 10 years just trying to promote this hobby. I can still remember there were hardy any videos on RU-vid about this subject. Now there are so many with underlying agendas. I'm glad you like watching my video. Take care 😃
Lovely result, it is such an iconic vehicle! Now that i have heard of a few people who built this MiniArt kit and enjoyed it i might have a look at it myself now :)
10:10 The look on the guy's face: "Crikey! There's a Tiger tank right ahead!!" 😜 Great job on all of that super TINY photoetch! I have built the, much simpler, Tamiya Dingo and have been eyeballing this kit ever since. They even make a captured German version, with an Afrika Korps crew, for modelers who prefer German subjects. If anybody teases you about your hair length, just tell them that you're a pro surfer! 😁 Keep up the good work, and stay safe! ✌
Funny 🤣. This is a good kit and the figures included makes it an exceptional value. If you like the Tamiya Dingo, then you will enjoy building the Miniart's version. I've been teased so much about my hair. Once it's all over I can get that haircut. Take care. 😊
Lovely to see you build the dingo! My grandad worked with these during his national service during the 1950s along with many other British armoured fighting vehicles such as the centurion
i always looking your channel and i couldn't remember your channel name, so I dig out my watched videos history. Because I like your videos, the way you recording its so clear and asmr. The result is so great!
What can I say??? Another excellent build and a superb end result.. :) And above all you had fun.. and that is what modelling is all about!! Thank you for taking part in the 'Recon' Group Build.. :)
Hey man I'm excited for another great video! So happy to see how much the channel has grown, within a few minutes you get people immediately jumping to watch!
Great job QDC, looks like a very nice kit to build. Mini Art produce great subjects. Love the chipping method very convincing. Keep up the good work & dude you do need a haircut. All the best.
Hello and Good Afternoon! I have seen for some time now that you have Figures mastered, especially ones with great facial details like these. Keep it up, Doc!!!
Great work! That looks like a really nice little kit. I bought some Miniart British desert crew figures separately and I was quite impressed with them. The base tied it all together nicely, and I love how the Dingo fits down onto the base... makes it very believable.
Thanks! I'm beginning to find out that Miniart does make good products and I agree that the base does add some authenticity to the desert. Take care 😊.
Q...I've been a looong time subscriber and I gotta to say it's been a joy watching u grow as builder ....I really enjoy these vignettes u do they are really well done ....keep up the good work
Very nice work👍✌️ Great video too👍👍 Dingos were so small but very effective vehicles - even the Germans liked them. My father drove them during his time in The 7th Queen's Own Hussars (latterly The Queen's Own Hussars). The real things became very collectable as they were decomissioned, as they were easy to own and store.
@@qdc748a Hi, they weren't too expensive to start with, but like Jeeps they've shot up in price as they're easy to store in a smaller space/garage. Not sure of their current price/value as I'm not as involved in that world these days ✌️👍🤔
@@musoseven8218 Funny you said about Jeeps. I'm building a Tamiya WWII Jeep as a civilian car. That was my first introduction in driving WWII vehicles. Hopefully it will be finished by this or next month. 😀😀
@@qdc748a I'll look out for that👍✌️ Sounds like a nice project 👍😊😊 Sadly I've never driven a military vehicle - my dad has, lots, and he was paid for it👍✌️😄
Magnificent work yet again 😉👍. I'll forward this one on to a friend of mine. His great uncle served in the Australian Army fighting the Germans and Italians in Lybia... One of the famed 'Rats of Tobruk'. Love what you've done with this diorama 😻
qdc748a i have the old tamiya kit which im keeping for sentimental reasons. i thought the miniart one would have so many parts but after watching this video and your review, i perhaps would!!
Great model, love this vehicle as the Germans and Italians did too, in ww2. This was a great video. Your techniques in showing very clearly how it goes together in a warm friendly atmosphere that you generate with your voice in a slow, methodical and unpressured way. The music choice matches this subject perfectly as well. Please always add period music to your video subjects that sets it in its historical context giving more life to your dioramas, as well as historical context too. as you did so well here, and loved it even more !!!
Correct me if im wrong, this is the first time you made a model from miniart, one of the most detailed kits ever combine that with your modelling skills, the finished model looks neat and detailed. I recommend you to build the T-54-1 from miniart in 1/35 scale next if you can, its a bit challenging kit to build but the results looks nice.
Another excellent build👌👍qdc you picked the right kit, miniart kits are very detailed, it is comparable to meng models and takom models, i suggest you build another one from miniart again
Very nice build 👍 sorry for the question..... But your videos are very short in the last time.... Why? Maybe next time a small submarine!? Take care about you and your family. Best wishes from Vienna 👋
Hello, I try to make my video last from twenty to thirty minutes. It's rare I make my videos beyond thirty minutes. I learned that most of my viewers do not like videos lasting longer than twenty minutes. Submarine, I might build one this year but I am not sure. I wish you and your family safe from COVID-19. Take care. 😊
Hi QDC I love your videos! Ive been a subscriber to your channel for a while now and I recently got back into making models again. I do struggle with painting but I have found your videos a huge help in that area. You are a great modeler! Last, I have been meaning to ask you two questions: would you ever consider a "behind the scenes" video? And....what do you do with so many models and dioramas? Where do you display them? Thank you, Justin
Sorry if I took it out on you dear Collins. I believe the dingo Miniart is a model for experienced modelers like you not for intermediates. Miniart plastics are weak and difficult to assemble. Miniart makes beautiful subjects different from the others. There is no doubt about this. Hello
@@qdc748a I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question and your rely is helpful to me. I wish you all the best and I have loved watching your inspirational videos for along time.
Wonderful looking Dingo build :) MiniArt makes such impressively detailed models in 1:35. It might be interesting to see an in depth video on e.g. a T-55 or SU-122, as they appear insanely detailed to me. I am taking a break from building a Polish version T-55, since it’s a wonderful art-like product, but man(!) does every step have a lot of more tiny details. Doesn’t MiniArt wear you people out?
I haven't built many Miniart kits but the ones I have are super detailed. I hard their T-55 tank is their best but it's extremely tedious. I wish you good luck on building the Polish version T-55 tank. Take care 😊
What can i say, it looks fantastic. Love your builds qdc! Btw i have a question. What clippers do you use? I am still using a nail clippers which i built my first model with but i am looking for something more effective ;)
Thanks. For years I've been using surgical pliers that my brother gave me but now I use a more traditional sprue cutter. Here's a link to a product similar to mine. This may help you ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YvriQYJRri0.html 😊 Take care.
Your Dingo Miniart Collins is beautiful. I bought this model twice, that is, two models of the same Miniart dingo, threw them in the trash and couldn't castrate them. The problem was the suspensions that had to move that did not stay attached without the glue that I porovato nine times to attach them then I let them go impossible what do you recommend?
The suspension is delicate. I tried traditional plastic cement and it didn't hold together well. I tried superglue instead and found it worked well. If you use superglue, it may help you as well. Give it a try. 😊
I tried and tried to build the movable suspensions the round pieces that stick to the suspensions without using glue a total of nine times then I threw it in the bin I couldn't build it. Are the suspensions of the dingo difficult?
Wow the desert floor look so realistic also. What is that made from, just tile grout? The first sound track I was reminded of the movie "The Bridge Over the River Kwai".
Thanks. The material is a combination of plaster of Paris, stand, and cat litter. It was hard for me to figure out the material because I never done a desert ground so well. I had to look constantly at photos of Egypt to get it right. The song is called "Col Bogey". It's free on RU-vid. 😊
@@qdc748a I watched a lot of the Dakar rally race shown on RU-vid recently. I believe it was held in the Arabian Desert. I was surprised at the varying terrain from light blowing sand and dunes to very large rocks and everything in between
Dear Collins, is the Dingo from Miniart for intermediate and expert modelers or just experts? I would like to understand are Miniart models for experienced modelers in general? I would like your opinion. Thanks
I didn't build a lot of Miniart Models so I can't answer that question but the kits I have built from them are delicate and require some experience to build. If you are a beginner, I would not recommend this kit. Maybe someone else who reads this post can better answer this question.
I like building the American Revell kits when I first re-entered into the hobby about ten years ago. Many of the older Revell kits I built as an adult were kits I never built when I was a kid. It was fun. Unfortunately, American Revell didn't produce any new kits that sparked my interests. However, Revell of Germany makes newer kits that are good and interesting to me. I don't remember building a Revell of Germany kits. I should. Anyway, I hope this answers your question. Take care. 😊
@@qdc748a I see, Yes Revell is an old German model kit Company. They were founded in 1943! I am from Spain and I can say that we got specialized shops here (it applies to all of the EU, I am sure) that are very large and offer everything (among others) that Revell produces. I didn't know that Revell USA doesn't have the same offers like here but ordering online is always a solution (if the delivery costs are not horrendous, as they often are from EU to USA and vice versa :-/. I give you an idea for a model you can build one day for your channel: "The Spanish Galleon" from Revell, Scale: 1:96. Google it. It is beautiful model, over 72cm long and almost 64cm high! It's challenging enough for Pros too, I guess (I am amateur and it wasn't easy for me, took many hours to finish it) Perhaps you can get the kit one day, they are not so easy to find but also not super rare. Ebay is a good place to find one or mail me, I can send it to you from Spain.
Ah man, you should have made a diorama with a well, a few palm trees, a camel and a few men in robes talking to the soldiers only to discover they are Germans and all of a sudden, they come under fire and there's explosions', body parts everywhere, men crying for there mama! help me, help me and yet, nothing. all are dead. But one british soldier and one German soldier. As they lie next to the vehicle, both know, there time is up. So they swap cigarettes', lite them up and the end. Sorry, got caught up in the moment... Nice build...
Yes, this is a small car! That little door was intended to be an emergency exit. Normally, you would climb in and out of the Dingo but in case of enemy fire, you would use the emergency door or obvious reasons. Thanks for watching my video. 😊
Bonjour mon ami 👍Hi friend Very beautiful diorama with kit miniart 👍great update 👍I enjoy watching your video 😎congrats You are looking my job on my channel 🤔Thank you very much good morning of France 👍🇫🇷

@@qdc748a it's not that I didn't liit's ke your work but I find it very far from the standards that you've displayed I'm very surprised I hope everything is going well for you. please don't see in my message a severe criticism of your work.
@@jeandeflisque3045 The more I think about it, I think you might confuse me with someone else because I have never made good model kits. I am just an average model kit builder. You must have joined my RU-vid channel by mistake. Sorry. 😊
