English subtitles are available. This is a complete build from start to finish of Tamiya's JS-3 tank. You get to see the construction, painting, and weathering. Enjoy.
You know, this video made me come to a realization that I hadn't thought of before, and thats that QDC's vids always manage to remind me that you don't need to buy a ton of aftermarket products to make a kit look beautiful! His builds just have that kinda home-made feel, while also looking absolutely stunningly well built! Best model kit RU-vidr I've seen because of this very reason!
Thanks. I guess that's my hallmark. :) I sometimes think that building model kits are over commercialized. There are so many accessories for model kits that people loose the joy of building things straight out of the box. I never gotten into having a lot of accessories per se. Don't get me wrong. I think some of the accessories out in the market are good but I use them to enhance my creativity. Take care :)
Within reason depending on kit and what stage of modeling you are now at i suppose! Came out nice enough for an old Tamyia kit I just never like the saws on them I always change mine out for a PE blade that's on any Russian armour though! This kit is more engineered than there newer Abrams tusk 2 kit the hull on that thing is Yuk! All in one suspension already fixed to the hull! Yeah easy time saver but that's not fun for me lol complicated the better the challenge!
I've just noticed why you're such a good builder, you have really steady hands. I can't do some of the smaller or more detailed kits because my hands are a little shaky :/
Thanks. I never thought of that before. I remembered long ago that a viewer had the same problem. He noticed that if he uses a computer keyboard palm rest pad to build his kits, his shakes are reduced. You might want to try it. Take care and have a wonderful day.
Beautiful finish! Love the surface detail including the rough cast texture and the weld marks. I am in the process of building this model and find the fit second to none. Thank you for the video.
Yep. I'm impressed! Not only by the amazing build, painting and weathering. I'm impressed by the kit itself. These beautiful textures on the turret give it a really nice touch. Greetings from germany :)
Thank you Qdc, you inspired me to build my own M4A3 Tamiya model kit. I recently bought a Tiger Tamiya model kit, I'll will work on it as soon as it gets here, thanks!!
Excellent build, I can't thank you enough for encouraging me to start building models nearly a year ago! It has become my favorite hobby and pastime. I only hope the best for you and your channdel qdc, rock on!
I have literally been waiting and counting the days for this video. So far, as with every video, I am pleased with the work and like the build. I can't wait for future work! 😃
Nice vid/build I was just in my hobby shop today and was going to buy this kit, but just below it was the new Tamiya M10 and there was only one of them so I got the M10. I might pick this one up next time
Another Wonderful Build. I appreciate and respect your Craftsmanship... Have you ever Considered building a Train Model Like the Revell Big Boy Locomotive or Others ?
Great video! I liked this video for the time and skill put into building this model, and i just like the IS-3. Its just such a cool looking tank! and i also have the tank in a great game called World Of Tanks! Lol. I would love to have this model in my room! Thanks for uploading this video!
You are welcome. I heard of WoT. It's a good game but I never had the chance to a play it. For my next tank will be the IS-3 enemy, the Conqueror. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UvV9lLbhT1E.html
Great finish! Can you go over some tips on how to paint the figure and how to use the airbrush and maybe some troubleshooting when clogging problems arise with the airbrush? Thanks! Very insightful video!
Nice video again. The only thing I'm wondering about is the pin wash before the main color. I think the effect is minimized if not completely erased by the layer of paint in the main color as is the chipping effect with white paint. Perhaps it is an idea to do the paint chipping with a slightly lighter color than the main color, filling the chips in with a little black paint afterwards, leaving a small amount of the lighter main color on the outsides of the chips. Also do the pin wash after the main color and a layer of glossy varnish. When you put the tile grout on with a salt shaker and on to yellow glue, I think the effect was more realistic than the way you did it this time.Nevertheless a very interesting project again, hope to see more of your work soon.
as always qdc this a great kit, the details of the turret are amazing! . maybe in the future can you make a video on all of the kits you have built and maybe showcase them? you don't need to but it would be cool, thanks :)
your figure painting is more impressive than you get credit for bud.....those old tamiya figures you have done for all those older kits and you actually make them better than they deserve to look lmao....good job as always....
if you haven't done it yet, you should make an effect where the tank gets hit and the shell goes into the armor but not all the way, so there is like a hole in the armor
I admire your work! would you please let me know your recipe for mud effect in this video. I couldn't really tell by listening because English is not my first language. Thanks!
