In this episode I have my first go at TIG welding on the full aluminium toy hauler build, starting with building the deck frame.
This was about 7 days worth of work cut down to a 20 minute clip. Enjoy!

This trailer will be a tandem axle 2500kg ATM full aluminium off-road toy hauler with a canopy & roof-top tent on the front and a 3 metre flat deck on the back for the buggy.

Awesome work mate. Inspiring! I’m planning a smaller version, 800 canopy, space for a 350 quad, n a 3.7 Quintrex on top. Not sure to go alloy or steel. I’m subscribed.👍🍻🎯

Might be worth going a steel chassis. Stronger and easier to fabricate. My trailer is big so I had to keep the weight down 👍🏼

Yeah slowly getting the hang of it mate 👍🏼 starting the chassis this weekend so I better hope I’ve got it half decent 😂

Man I know the tig welding is nice, but why not the mig since you had so many to do?

Hey mate, I tried running alloy MIG wire in my welder but just couldn't get it to run nice. I'm thinking of buying a double pulse MIG at the moment for future large projects.

@@Kenny_B I’d be interested to hear ur thoughts when u do. I do a lot of thin stuff, cruiser angels etc, so keen to know if the upgrade is worth it. They seem to be the ducks guts from what I’ve read 👍

Hi Kenny B. What tool and what disc attached to that tool are you using to debur and remove oxide layer?

Hey mate, it’s a Milwaukee M12 right angle die grinder with a 1/4” (6mm) gasket sander attachment. It takes little abrasive disks that screw on to the attachment. They’re about 1.5” diameter. Most tool shops have them 👍🏼
