After the positive feedback of my previous video looking at building the best watch collection for $1,000, I wanted to continue this series looking at 7 different options one can take when building a collection for this budget amount. Given the number of watches in these ranges there is no way that I will be able to cover all potential watches in the range, so leave comments below about what watch(es) you would buy with $2,000 to spend.

The Duo is Perfect. A dress watch that’s casual enough for daily wear. A sports watch that can be dressed up enough for business casual. $850/each is healthy enough for some great well built long lasting watched. Make sure they’ve both got the same lug width. And then 5-6 Quick change straps to suit ANY situation. Edit: The sports watch: Christopher Ward Trident Pro 600 A very classy Diver. Easily can be dressed up. Easily purchasable on discounts for well within the budget. Hamilton jazzmaster ViewMatic Auto Again, grab it from Discounter. Solid watch. Classy AF for a dress watch but easily dressed down for casual life with a calf skin strap.

probably time for an update: my under 2k watch collection End of 2022 1) Daily Beater: gshock smart watch- $200 2) Daily driver: Tissot PRX- $600 3) Dress Diver: Seiko King Turtle Manta- $350 4) Chronograph- Bulova Lunar Pilot- $350 5) Dress watch: Orient Bambino- $150 Total: $1650- so 350 leftover Could swap out for a more expensive dress watch, but I really love the bambino… The watch I’d love to add to my mid tier collection is a summer driver. A robust, but thin watch that can handle everything a vacation would throw at you and has a bright beautiful dial.

I paid a little more than 2000 Dollars for my collection and have managed to cover quite some different aspects. I have a Seiko Alpinist Reinterpretation (subtle green dial) as fieldwatch option. (Got a good deal on it and paid almost 200 dollars under retail about 550$) A vintage King Seiko 5626 as dresswatch. (50 years old and runs between +0 and +1 second per day. Absolutely insane movement. Also the finishing beats everything from switzerland from that period of time) (Paid 400 Dollars when they were a little less expensive than now. Every deal under 1000 dollars is still a bargain for those luxury-pieces) A Citizen Promaster as beater/diver(i don't really dive but i like a watch i could wear while swimming. Cost me about 160 Dollars) A Vintage swiss Chronograph with diving Bezel as everyday-watch (From the brand Pierce that fell victim to the Quartz-Crisis but they were the first ones that made Chronographs waterproof. Got a not-working one my father wore in his youth. Brought it to a talented watch-dealer that restored it nicely. Paid around 900$ for that service. Worth every penny. I never thought how useful a Chronograph with diving-bezel is for everyday-use. Everyone should look for something like that for real) And a Casio CFX-200 as digital calculator-watch. It is by far the King among all calculator-watches because it is a scientific-calculator. (Very expensive in good condition but absolutely worth it). I bought it from some guy who didn't really knew how much these pieces are worth and gave him 100 bucks because it was in very good condition. Saved me around 900 dollars because these are very rare collector-pieces. I'm an engineer so a normal calculator-watch is absolutely wasted on me, because i don't need a calculator-watch for simple arithmetic operations. the trigonometric and exp-functions on the CFX-200 are quite useful for me because i am an electrical engineer.

Hi Teddy! Loved the video and per your suggestion I would like to add my two cents. I am the kind of extremes type guy, by which I mean I like my very presentable dress watch to wear in the office, but I also like my adventure / diving watch to be hard as nails. So my two options: dress watch - Junghans Max Bill date automatic for USD 1.200 or there about; and Seiko King Turtle SRPE05, to which would add a bracelet to bring the price up to USD 800. That makes it USD 2.000 on the dot and also makes me a very happy persona (as you say). All the best!

I'm a relative noob so I'd like to know more about the watches you recommend that make them worthwhile. Some brand have a special feature, such as IWC's fast moving hands when changing time. Teddy, these “perfect x watch collection” videos are amazing, thank you for these. I get a great introduction to models and even makers I’d never heard of. Do you have a recommendation for a modern automatic watch that would be an homage to an Explorer or Air King, other than an actual Rolex? Something in the 34-36mm size? Tons of options at 40mm, but I’m starting to really appreciate more traditional sized watches, and I just can’t find anything, other than going vintage, or just to Rolex themselves, which can be mildly obnoxious.

Hey Teddy, you are the first reviewer I’ve seen to mention the Seiko SRPB39 “Zen Garden”. This is one of my favorite watches - another being the SRPB41 which is a stunning midnight blue version. The dials are very impressively done, as are the high polished indices with a frost-like texture on top. The handsets are elegant with polished hour and minute hands and a blue second hand (on the white dial 39) and the 3 bright white hands on the blue one (41). Plus domed sapphire crystals, butterfly clasps, gilt rotors, and beautifully high-polished cases make these 2 watches favorites of mine. The use of the 4R movement is a little bit of a let-down perhaps, but is consistent with the new and more expensive Alpinist models.

For anyone who thinks the Seiko SRPD39J1 might be abit too big, I encourage you to check out the SRPD97J1 (White Dial) or SRPD99J1 (Black Dial). Spec-wise, they're the same if I recall correctly, and they come at roughly the same price point. They are 38mm delivering this great snowy dial in a smaller case than the SRPD39J1. I love them, I think the're great!

Great video! Would love to see you review the Longines Conquest 39mm. As you said, looks like an underrated watch, and I’m seriously considering it. Thanks!

For the "One Watch Collector" I would go with a Longines. My favorite at around $2000 would be the Heritage Military 1938

Why no Junghans Max Bill? It's a perfect dress watch and it's the original instead of a Nomos lookalike like the Stowa you suggested.

You are wrong . Stowa is the original. Long before Nomos existed, Stowa produced watches with the bauhaus design. Nomos copied Stowa. Make some research.

Went with the damasko DA46 for one watch, may get some sort of affordable dress watch to complement (that seiko looked nice)

Great video, one of the Christopher Ward GMTs would be great as a one watch. COSC movement, 3 time zones, and many are ISO cert.

Glad to see Christopher Ward getting a little love here. Hardly ever see anyone mention Raymond Weil, though. Would be interested in seeing you review an RW1212.

For that price I love my Christopher Ward Moon Glow or my Baume and Mercier Baumatic. Both can be dressed up or worn casual. Teddy you always kill it with your choices. Excellent for someone building a multi watch collection at that price point.
