BUILDING THE ULTIMATE BMW M2 RACE CAR IN USA! PROGRESS UPDATE EPISODE 5

Follow our 5 week journey as we (German Auto Werks) were tasked with building the ultimate BMW M2 track car! We flew over from London, UK to Arizona, USA to carry out some serious work on this car!
In this episode we get the car back from KG's Classics where they finished off the welding and painted the entire interior and roll cage in BMW Sunset Orange! We also complete the wiring loom strip, re-tape it and get it fitted back in the car. The dash gets modified and fitted for the final time and we make some new modifications to the front end of the car along with starting the plumbing of the Sparco fire suppression system!

Thanks for the support! When it comes to costing these jobs, it all depends on the items used! So it can vary between $50k to $150k depending on specs

Hey! The idea behind this build is that it is a car capable of competing in the Apex Motor Raceway GT4 series (which it will be), as well as road use, so we have left a few creature comforts in place for that reason! As we explained, we have made the dash bar removable, meaning that we can access/ remove or service the heater box if we ever want to (or if we want to drop more weight for future events). Hope this clears things up! 👍

FEM, Front Electronics Module is the main body controller for these F series cars, it also has a integrated gateway module that essentially all bus networks pass through and can communicate on

It was a consideration, however at this stage the customer decided to keep it standard. We have talked about a ‘light weight pack, with carbon doors, boot lid, and bonnet that can be added on for races to reduce the weight.
