@@iikraze6007 its a TINY TINY risk. And it will only change if you mess with the screws on the riser PCB. So if you havent touched the screws since initial installation, there is no more risk than before since the fire is caused by the screw hitting a specific angle with a specific rotation. But still, fire is a VERY bad fail state, even if 5 out of a million actually catch fire.

videos like this really help me to appreciate the amazing job they did designing and manufacturing my series X. its running everything i’ve thrown at it with zero trouble, all at 4k 60fps, dead silent, and for only $529 out of my pocket. i love pc gaming and the whole concept of building a gaming pc has always been interesting to me, but i dont have the time or knowledge to buy and assemble one properly, and i just feel more comfortable with a console. for that reason i love that microsoft has put near pc power into this little black monolith in my living room so i can play some of these massive new games from the comfort of my couch.

That PC is in the ball park of about 2000$ more like, the previous generations fastest CPU for gaming and the previous generations higher end midrange gpu, with an extremely expensive nvme drive and high ended itx motherboard, not to mention that case alone with the cooler and psu is 350.

It looks a little trickier than a normal build, but having all the cables prerouted and the perfect length makes it look like a fun build. Wouldn't mind a mesh variant to increase airflow, especially as this case has been shown to not be the fest for the FE versions of the new Nvidia cards. I wonder how it will function with the new AMD cards?

the thing about this is that all the wires and everything is right where they should be like you go "pop that cable in, that one, that one annnnd that one" but for a normal system you have to cable manage and recognise all the cables and everything but both are easy

The oversized cases are actually regular size cases for a long time. The small form factor pc cases only started being popular since last year. The difference in this NZXT case is that, due to the limited size you will be only able to fit in certain size and numbers of computer parts. While 2/3 of the case’s price went to the on-case PSU and CPU cooler so this also limited the customisability of a pc for the builders That being said, as a NZXT fan this case like their other cases does look slick as always, though I hope they could have also used transparent material on the graphics card size case panel for additional visual improvements

It's a decent enough case, I've just built two for the kids (revised version with plastic screws). What was shoddy was initial NZXT response to GPU riser issue called our by Steve @ GN; that pressure has finally turned into a full recall. If you're a half-competent DIY builder (vs a BLD prebuilt customer with no tech knowledge), NZXT will send out a new design PCIE 3.0 riser AND plastic screw set, rather than having to return it. Thus far, I was impressed with simplicity of build, pre-managed cables made it all very easy (the kids basically built them with my supervision). Thermals are good on a Ryzen 3600 with a 1660 Super, but note that you can mod them to add extra fans internally on rear to help with exhaust on hotter graphics cards (which I'll probably do at some point). The bottom IO is a bit annoying but neat at least and you can always add a USB hub for extra accessible ports (it only has a single USB C and USB 3.0 on the top). In summary it's a nice case, just a shame NZXT didn't take riser issue seriously enough at first as they've alienated a fair few users with their initial response...

Is there any thermal test data available for this configuration? It seems to me that the GPU could eventually heat up quite significantly as there are no case fans visible in this video.

@@jonniezodiac The CPU is equivalent to a 3700X in the Series X and the GPU is a 5700 XT (if you're building it now) or a 5800 XT (if you're waiting for ray tracing).

I built this case using a using an asus x570i gaming motherboard, ryzen 9 3900x, sapphire pulse 5700xt... the display would not work... After research and troubleshooting the issue was with the included gen 3 riser cable... the fix was just set the pcie to gen 3 in bios until test gen 4 riser cables are available... it works now

That moment with the bad cable. Reminded me of what happened in my build a few weeks ago. I'd had issues posting, thought I'd solved them, but then all of a sudden I tried to boot up and it was just dead, I was trying everything and I couldn't get a signal to the monitor. My dumb ass then discovered that during troubleshooting I'd turned the monitor off.. it was still off. 🤦‍♂️

As someone who built a Phanteks Evolve Shift (glass panel), with a 2080Ti inside, there are several moments where you just have to stare at the case to figure out how to get the pieces in, and in what order to start with. That said, some of the gaps are paper-tight once cables are tied in, or even tighter. And it goes well above 50'c/90'f, as it needs to expel 200w or more of heat, even with a 140mm CPU radiator The other advantage of the Evolve Shift is it fits 140mm Corsair LL-RGB fans, which are mediocre for heat/performance, but you can illuminate the room with the front panel off for airflow.

But in order to do a proper highlights video they would have to go through all of their footage including stuff that wasn't released, and surely there's no way they are keeping all raw footage of a 5-vid-a-week release schedule! I’ve been building PCs for years and this case has caught my attention because of the ease of building and pre managed cables. The thermals are better than a lot of ATX cases too! All with a single 140mm fan no less. Super clean chassis too, love the sharp angles and the small desk footprint.

compact pcs are really more complicated to begin with, I think nzxt just made it relatively simpler to fit components since this case is more like a template. but yeah, for a first time builder this is still quite daunting

@@solefreak2 hard to give a definitive answer to this cause it all depends on you, and your patience. Personally, I bought my console only for the exclusive, Horizon Zero Dawn, and recently it was released to pc. If there's a console exclusive game that you can't wait to play, you really don't have other options. Other than that, pc is the way to go especially if you're gonna do stuff other than gaming. You can build on a bigger case which makes things a little less complicated for a first time builder.

It is not a good feeling but there is ways to figure out what your problem is. Dont worry you will realize it isnt as difficult or scary as you think until you run into a problem you dont know about and your heart drops but usually its a simple user error with an easy solution.

The ease of the build was one of the deciding factors in my purchase of this case. The last time I built a computer we were worrying about Y2K so I was really amazed at the ease of the build. With a Ryzen 5 5600x and a 2070 card the power to size ratio was crazy.

Although this case looks to be setup for easy install, which don’t get me wrong it is easy, but it’s a lot harder straight off the bat to build small form factor machines. Also the amount of times I’ve thought a computer was stuffed and it was just the DP cable nooooot quite being home!
