About the blood stain on the bed: forensic labs can tell the difference between "normal" blood and menstrual blood. There's a test for that.

The police really dropped the ball, intentionally!!! It’s frustrating to hear the details on them not collecting any evidence 🤦🏾‍♀️! If they would’ve did an autopsy on her, a rape kit, informed her loved ones properly, as well as did the basic investigative steps…things would have been different. Thank you for sharing this case, and for helping spread the word! 👏🏾🙏🏾🫶🏾

I'm on a dating app and NO, I would definitely not invite a guy to my home or go to his home right off the bat. I wouldn't tell him my address or phone number either. I think women need to be more careful on these dating apps. There's been quite a few men that want to meet up immediately after you 'match' on the site, and I always say " I'm the take it slow type of woman and if you have a problem with that I'm not your girl" We women need to be super careful and safe.

I would NEVER use my fingerprint to lock my phone. Probably because of my obsession with true crime. I'll explain: a person that uses their fingerprint as their lock/unlock procedure on their phone can be easily used by someone else. For example, let's say you are dating a new guy and he seems to be a little insecure, he could access your phone while your sleeping at night. Or if someone harms you, as in murders you, he/she can access your phone after they've killed you and send fake text messages to family and/or friends making your family and/or friends believe that you are alive and well. Yes, I've given this a lot of thought and that's why there's no way in hell I'd use my fingerprint as the security feature on my phone.

I'm just going to give my opinion on sugar daddy/baby relationships because I have been involved in that lifestyle b4. In my experience it takes way more than 3 days to develop a true sugar daddy/baby engagement. There needs to be terms, boundaries, and even financials set in writing. So that nothing is left unsaid and there is no confusion about things like sex, dinners, vacations, allowances etc. I'm just not sold on that idea.

Me and my boyfriend were called up one night by his old roommates girlfriend saying that she thought he was dead and she needed help. We live just right down the street, so we rushed over. I gave him CPR while my boyfriend called 911. When the first responders got there they immediately told me to stop, that he was dead, and that we could go home. They didn’t ask us any questions or anything. I found it so so strange.

Did the coroner do a hair strand test on Lauren? Because a hair strand test can detect if Lsuren was a habitual drug user. Why wouldn't that be done automatically? Because if there is no previous drug use that shows up on the hair strand test then it would prove that most likely the 'new boyfriend' slipped the drugs to her.

17:12 in… did you literally just say they told this mother to stop calling and hung up on her!?!? WTF type of law-enforcement do they have in that area!!? It really makes me sick when we have people pass away under strange circumstances and officers do not want to do their jobs. I am literally going through this right now my niece was found May 27 deceased in her apartment in front of her mother who just found her daughter the sergeant Pat his detective on the back and said “this will be an easy one for you to put to bed just a little bit of paperwork just an obvious suicide.“ 😳😳😡 like what did you just say and in front of a grieving mother who just found her 26 year old daughter the same detective has taken two vacations since May 27 and has given our family nothing but the runaround they did not even question neighbors as to if they heard anything until four weeks later at the demands of our family. We even have an officer who is employed by the same sheriffs office that is handling this case who had to file a complaint against one of her fellow officers for failure to investigate. This story hits so close to home this happens it happens all the time and it’s disgusting 😞

The Police actually did this, and everyone was shocked with that. Sadly, this happened to 2 black woman the same day and they had to be taken away from the case. People who know them said that mathew were related to the Police throught marriage. This is what the family lawyer think.

Promethazine (phenergan) is an antiemetic (for nausea) and it's potent! Hydroxyzine is used for anxiety when the doctor doesn't want to prescribe a benzodiazepine. I know it's been a few months but... I'm a newbie. Happy newbie. So glad I found you!

Over time, DNA molecules fall apart which results in very short fragments with an accumulation of the so called "miscoding lesions". This kind of DNA is very challenging to analyse and I believe that DNA profiling methods commonly used in the forensics now are not good enough to deal with such type of material. However, there are other methods and new sequencing technologies that allow us to deal with the DNA damage that occurs over time. These methods are now widely used in the field of archaeogenetics. For some reason, these have not yet been applied in the forensics. Probably because they are more expensive and time consuming.

I've been in a similar situation where I woke up and my bf passed away the cops didn't do any kind of search or question me beyond asking what initially happened. If there's no apparent signs of a struggle they aren't going to take anyone in or treat it as a crime scene. They do have tech teams specifically for getting into a deceased phone and contacting the family. Honestly though her behavior sounds drug related the going in the bathroom and getting something from her brother then going back in the bathroom. I don't understand why the cops took her money though. Also when my bf died it was drug related there was absolutely no investigation into where they came from or anything was just ruled an accident. I think unless it's obvious that a struggle went on cases aren't actually looked into.

If it's a drug related death it's an easy box to check for them. When my father died I was shocked they didn't ask any questions just bc he was an addict... he didn't even OD, but did have drugs in his system, as most addicts do... but I realized when they can SAY its an OD they move on quicker than me after leaving my EX, seriously despicable. Being in recovery myself and sober for YEARS I've thought several times it would be real easy to get rid of me all ud have to do is make sure there's drugs in my system and they'd just write me off as a relapsed OD... frickin sad

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s very true - if someone dies and drugs/alcohol are suspected then they’ll definitely ask questions to whoever found the person but that’s as far as it goes. I wonder if her death would’ve been investigated a bit if her family had found her. They would’ve made a ruckus and alerted the police that her death required an investigation, in their opinions anyway.

My moms death was ruled an accident even though it was so apparent that she was absolutely fine until her ex husband comes home from a trip and suddenly she’s dead the next day. They said she had a “gastrointestinal bleed” even though the toxicology report and death certificate didn’t show any of that. I’m still mad but I know my mom wouldn’t want me to fight it anymore.

Sadly they can’t arrest / detain him simply because he was there when she died IF there was no outward signs of defensive wounds, trauma, a struggle etc. They just can’t. It’s not legal. He could Sue the shit out of them if they did. I don’t know how it is in Australia but they have to have massive probable cause to arrest him and the scene you described didn’t have any. ONCE the autopsy is done then yes they may be able to when they know WHY and HOW she died. There’s so much in this case that is fucked. I agree. But not just immediately arresting him because he’s there, can’t do it in all cases. As for nails, as a nail tech, in big cities, you sure can get them fancy nails for $40 if you have the hookup. Now is that standard price for her boujee nails, not really. But if you know someone or your friend does them, it’s possible. As for drugs, you said, you just don’t take drugs like that. You don’t freely take drugs. Etc. I know LOTS OF PEOPLE who take those things. Fentanyl isn’t heroine. It’s an opioid used for hard core pain management like end stage cancer. It’s now laced into things like heroine killing people. As for the antihistamine, if you take a TON of it, it gets you high. Hydroxizine taken in large doses can get you high like a Xanax. Many many many young people freely mix this stuff together all the time. I am NOT saying Lauren did this. I don’t know what she did. But I am saying that it’s not strange or uncommon at ALL for a mix of drugs like that to be in someone’s system. Adding alcohol can intensify the sedated effect. These are all downers and make you drowsy and relaxed. And to do it on a date, again I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility to think that someone would do these things on dates. Ill repeat I’m not saying she did any of those things. She very well may have been drugged. I don’t know. And it doesn’t matter HOW she died, whether she took the drugs herself or not, the fact that her family wasn’t notified is fucked. Their handling of the crime was terribleeeeee. Hands down. Awful. I feel for her deeply. Regardless of who did what when to lead to this, she’s gone and that’s the tragedy. I hope that even though the police dropped every single ball I pray that they can figure out what actually happened to Lauren.

Police definitely did NOT do their job. There are many scenarios where the drugs could come into play. As for the family denial of drugs, many times this can be hidden until or unless it gets bad enough. That doesn’t mean this was true in her case. It would have very easy to know with proper examination and testing. Also, any evidence that was present became useless as soon as police failed to secure and process the scene. Bottom line, a young healthy 23 year old woman doesn’t just die so that the police decided Matthew seemed like a nice guy and did nothing is beyond absurd. God bless Lauren and her family. 🙏🏻💕

There was a preacher who was also in the Air Force reserves. He was living a double life, engaged to multiple women. One night, he called 911, telling the operator that his fiancé had shot herself. Due to circumstances, he was put on trial for her murder. Unbelievable things about him were uncovered. His name is William Pounds. I knew him from military training we both attended. I would like to hear your take on this case.

Oh my heart is so broken right now… usually in these cases the cops are just being stupid when it comes to how to take care of a crime scene… these officers literally saw a beautiful, young, HEALTHY woman die an obviously sketchy death & thought “she’s not important enough to even look into her death”. ALL of the officers should 100% be fired. Whole department. Bye.

Hydroxyzine is a antihistamine but they prescribe it to people for anxiety over here because it's non addictive like other stronger anti anxiety meds. And I know loads of people who will take it regardless of whether they plan to drink or not. So if she had anxiety and didn't want to tell others she was being seen and prescribed for it. That could explain that being found in her system.

Damn that’s a good price! I get a gel pedicure for $55 (that’s actually good quality and well done) but I have to also pay $10 removal so $65 total and that’s a really good price here. It’s European pedicure too. Normally those are $100+!!! Australia is ridiculous. McDonald’s meals can be $18 haha

I heard this case from another true crime RU-vidr recently. It’s absolutely disgusting. I cannot believe this is happening right now. This sounds like something that may have happened several decades ago, with how the police have handled the case. And how is there no protocol for notifying a family? I don’t believe that for a second. They’re just lying.

One thing I've noticed about true crime is the economic status of the victim plays a HUGE part in whether a case gets any attention or not. And many youtubers who have built their platforms on true crime perpetuate the "white bias" so often lamented on here. Not you, thankfully. Wealth also plays a major role in the punishment received by perpetrators too. I'm also an older person, and my advice is to stay away from dating apps, it is like Russian Roulette. Sometimes the speed of social media is quicker than the police. A neighbour died early last year here in Aus, and it was by sheer good luck the NZ police got to his poor parents before it was broadcast on social media. Like everything, it's a double edged sword.

A lot of people mix medications like this. Not unheard of to use and drink, but I still think your point that this should have raised suspicions of drugging is a good one. Also, I think you meant “women of color.” Calling people “colored,” is racist, but I don’t think you meant it.

7:59 I’m assuming he’s trying to spin a story that she was on drugs and the “brother” was actually a plug and she went to the bathroom to get high, OD’d, he assumed she was sleep and he woke up and she was dead.
