Yea, I think any woman that willingly hooks up with a man with a big ass swastika tattoo isn’t as much of a wallflower as her family may have thought. I genuinely believe she was as sick and sadistic as Ben and just as culpable. She needs to be happy she wasn’t sentenced to death and move on 😒

This couple was definitely twisted. I heard of this case before. The wife was really clingy and pretty much forced him to quit the seals. He ended up cheating on her and then threatened to kill his girlfriend and her kids because the wife found out. I could see the wife instigating it because I think with him, she just totally went crazy. She had crazy/neurotic traits her whole life but when she got with him, she didn’t find the need to suppress those traits or ideas anymore. He was already into demonic/evil stuff so he was with it. I think they encouraged/hyped each other up. They should both get life in prison.

Unless he was feeding her dopamine highs and causing huge crashes at the same time. As someone who has to remain single the rest of her life because of this very reason, I can understand it. I'm not in any way giving her an excuse. She's just as guilty as him. But I did want to point out that men will cause highs and lows in some womens brain chemistry and it can f*ck them up big time. It's like a drug. Not everyone experiences this. But the ones who do normally don't know and don't understand themselves what's going on. She is guilty as f*ck but this might have contributed to a lot that this couple did.

Hey Zara you are one of my favorite true crime channels. I think I’ve written to you before…I have a lesser known case of true crime in my neighborhood in Houston, Tx. I went to elementary school with a kid Bob Coulson “Robert”. He was a couple of years older but I knew who he was. Fast forward to the late 80’s or early part of the 90’s he killed his entire family for the insurance money. He suffocated them, tied them up and set the house on fire to try to cover his tracks but it didn’t work. One thing that I find interesting is that there were 3 Coulson children and all were adopted. Bob and his older sister were full siblings but the youngest daughter was adopted separately. She had recently had a baby that she had given up for adoption. Allegedly he waited for her to give birth and give the baby away before he killed them all. Idk if this is true…but because that baby had not been legally adopted yet that she would get half the inheritance before they found Robert guilty of all of it! I still wonder if that little baby inherited that life insurance policy. Obviously I don’t know all the details and would love for you to cover this case cause I’ve never seen it covered and I think you will do it justice. If you need anymore information from me please contact me if you need too. The house was eventually demolished and a new house built. I always wonder if the people that brought that property knew what happened there! I love watching your channel!!♥️♥️

Erica may have been easily influenced, but she was in her 20s. She wanted to be influenced. I was an actively using drug addict for 10 years and I’d never do any of this. Yes, after bars (a-bars) use to be super popular in the 2000s and 2010s in America. Everyone would just get the random address and show up. I’ve definitely ended up in some strange bathrooms after 2am lol. & for the coworkers reporting people missing…that’s a blessing they care that much. A lot of people don’t live near their families, don’t speak every day, know their routines - coworkers will have you being best friends with Jack who is 68 and celebrating his 45th wedding anniversary next week 🤣 I know I’m not close with my family. If I went missing, my mom would be the last to know.

I just had to drop in and comment on the mingling while on vacation thing . . . I usually keep these personal comments to myself. Since being an adult and looking back on these insane situations I got myself in as a youth in the 90s, which every day still surprises me I survived. Roughly almost 2 decades now I have that same mindset. Honestly, there have been a few moments where I let my guard down for one reason or another then to realize I've made a poor choice against my better judgement. ie: about 5 years ago my (world traveler) sister and I went on a Bahamas cruise before her wedding. Being that I never travel outside of the country unless it's with her, I tend to follow her lead (as a little sister would). After befriending a resort employee that could keep a little hippy trippy. I guess that for some reason put some trust in my sis who allowed this stranger to take us far from the resort through a village out to a secluded beach it wasn't until we made it back that I freaked out on her for going along. When she asked why I went I told her it was obviously "because I won't let you die alone and I have no idea where"... Never be surprised with oneself😘

This is the first time I’ve heard of this case. First, I would never go to someone’s house that I didn’t know. Second, I think he did way more harm than she did, but they are definitely twisted!

The cleaning chemicals analogy 💀 As far as your question about if you would say yes or no, I would personally say no but I also don't really go anywhere lol. I think it's easy to look at it in hindsight but I think there are a few factors in the situation that they would have said yes. I think one would have been that since they hung out with these guys the majority of the night they kind of had a sense of who they thought they were and thought they were pretty cool so they didn't see the harm and probably going over for a few hours and having a few drinks where it's a little less rowdy. The second thing is I'm sure they had a few drinks in them I'm not sure how to what their alcohol tolerance is but once you have consumed alcohol and stuff we all know that your lack of judgment goes down so that probably played a factor into it as well. The third thing that I think really probably solidified is that they are a couple and then that was another couple that went there with them. It's kind of like Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka. They are this average looking couple that seems super normal and a lot of people don't expect for a couple to be dangerous like that especially when there's more than one person. I feel like it was probably a safety in numbers type of thing because you don't really expect to get attacked or murdered or something when you're around other people you kind of more expect that to happen when you are alone. Plus I don't really know how these guys were what their life experiences are and all that kind of stuff personally but I think that those factors really helped in these people agreeing to go back to their penthouse with them. I know in college I didn't go like out partying crazy or whatever but sometimes I didn't really feel like going anywhere but I would go to my friend's friend's dorm when it was more of us together. If it was like my friend and I and two three other people and we would go. If it was maybe just me and another person I would be a little bit more hesitant especially if I don't really know this person and I haven't met them at least but I really think that people have that safety in numbers mindset which is true most of the time but that's not always the case unfortunately.

Sometimes we think we know our family members or, perhaps we chose not to see that our loved ones have a much darker side than what we would want a then to be. The fact that she was with someone with such tattoo, which clearly indicates what type of person she is and maybe he awaken a darker side of her that she probably hadn’t thought of or maybe she just felt free with him because now she can truly express her true self.

i think what you were trying to describe at the 12 minute mark was the idea of someone who is "chasing the high" A person eventually builds up a tolerance to the things that give them a rush so they start to need more and more of it in order to feel that same rush that they used to get, but they can never seem to get that same feeling so they continue doing more and more of whatever their "thing" is just hoping one day it will feel as good as it used to feel.

My work would def notice myself and my husband missing before my family. haha My family is pretty sparce and we go months without talking. Also I would never go with strangers, but I doubt my husband and I would even go to a place like that anymore. I doubt we would have when we were younger too. We mostly go to dinner/coffee/movies and occasional theme park. When we go places, we go to be alone. haha

She killed her partner & cooked him up (meat & 3 veg style) intending to feed him to his kids. She even fed some of him to the dog. She skinned him fully & hung his skin on a hook. So tragic that Erica was on the way to having a bright future and successful life when she met Ben. And it's also sad that when they first met and Ben tried to tell Erica to not get involved with him because he would be gone alot with the Rangers that she did not listen. I don't know what Ben really was about before meeting Erica so I am guessing he was just the typical kid of the 90s/early 2000s and when he met Erica they both just sparked this darkness inside both of them. They certainly did not bring out the best of either one of them. I feel bad for Erica's family. What a horror they found their daughter to be caught up in and that she turned into this totally different person. They must really have hurt to see what had become of her. I do think both were equally as guilty as the other in all the crimes. I don't think either one was the lead. They both got off on doing these things and both were in agreement.

Hey Zara! Well aren't you special! A T- Rex ! I've just gotten my grandson off to school. First grade. Sadly, no T-Rex. Well, I remember reading this book years ago. What a horrible couple. The first time I saw a swastika tattoo on the guys ' chest,I would have done a legger. Incidentally, It's not all that rare for a son to begin to change after meeting a certain woman. My son and I were so close. I have three girls, but he and l were like best friends. Then he met the girl who he eventually married. She was weird, her family was weird but they were nice. She was the youngest child and extremely spoiled and obsessed with my son. Without boring you with all the details, eventually we went out separate ways. I can't tell you how much this hurts , but it can't be helped.

Maybe Erika should’ve took that picture that Ben wanted her to bet you he would’ve got life also… Kind of scary to think he’s gonna be out in a few years but honestly, I think Erika was the instigator.. Or they’re like Carla and Paul Bernardo. They were both not completely nuts until they met each other and brought out the Yvonne, both of them like equally seeing them pictures where, in the dead couples stuff they clearly neither of them was in fear of the other, so they were both equal, but I don’t know I still think Erika was a little more twisted in my opinion.

In the US if the police have probable cause to believe someone is being either held somewhere or are a missing person then they can search the condo.. Also in another TV show it was believed that the reason the couple came back to the apartment was because they were told there would be drugs, I am not sure what but it could have been as innocent as we have some great weed do you all want some. But we will never know for sure since they are the only ones that know the truth.

While ues she is just as guilty as him but i did want to point out the brain chemistry that could have been involved. If she had any form of adhd or similar illnesses she could have been vulnerable to highs and lows caused by him and would go crazy and do whatever he wanted her to. As a woman who has adhd and has finally learned that men do this its scary and almost unbelievable the control a person can have over you when your brain doesn't work at 100 percent. It will drive you crazy and make you do things you normally wouldnt. In no way am i giving her an excuse. But i can see how some one who is described as an innocent wall flower turning into the devil can happen. Theres always more to the story.

OMG I HAVE AN AWESOME WRONG HOUSE STORY I was going to a Christmas party to meet a guy and I knew no one there and when I pulled up the the neighborhood someone else had just pulled up so I flooded them to the house but apparently a neighbor was also having a Christmas party….
