To be fair Jaune stopped chasing Weiss in volume 2 after the dance and he started bonding with Pyrrha and Weiss while still considering him a friend probably knew him and Pyrrha were a thing, after that they never really touched on them possibly being a couple until now. Honestly I was hoping for Ruby and Jaune after volume 4
"How do we take the next step" is 100% a meta commentary on where BB are at. Both too afraid of going near the "friends/romance line" and all the risk involved with it that they needed the Ever After to give a little nudge to them. Another one that is a bit hidden behind the comedy, is Weiss's falling that shows the audience there is no danger in BB's bridge part; all about them coming out with their feelings. As someone that has been following the show for 10 yeas, is LGBT+, and seeing the growing relationship between Bees since mostly v2 (though I can go back to the UST + smirk in the forest and Blake's choosing to partner w/ Yang as confirmed by Arryn); their entire scene is absolutely gorgeous and everything I could've ever wanted. The animation, the music, the VA's, the feelings expressed, and the subtle details put into it. I've seen it so many times now via reactions and still gets my eyes watery. Their story is everything I could've ever wanted in a general romance, but especially an LGBT+ one. Them going through the process of figuring themselves out, going through major events that fire-forged their bond, understanding each other, gayngst while separated, coming back together, taking down Blake's abusive ex, moving into clearly fallen for each other with flirting but awkward and unsure about it, and then to canon girlfriends now. Also I can't say enough how much I love the two pointing out things about the other that they love and being what each needs to hear, especially from the one that means the world to them. Yang pushing against Adam's garbage about Blake giving up on people and being a coward by saying no that she doesn't give up on people and she fights for what she believes in. Both being true cause an abuse survivor doesn't owe her abuser her life for a principle/technicality and Blake is still trying to figure out things in regards to the faunus cause she doesn't have the answer. Yang on the other hand with her self-value being incredibly low getting told how great (or extraordinary) a person she is and that she lightens Blake's world. Blake not pressuring Yang but offering a gentle leading her into saying her feelings and Yang's falling monologue. Its just ugh so good. I can't wait for the v9 OST for really all the songs, but especially Worthy (aka Bmblb pt. 2 as stated by Casey). I also absolutely love Yang's dorky disaster flirting that has been a recurring thing since like v1 xD Not to mention her "oh shit this is serious" reaction once Blake is putting her feelings out there, like a deer caught in headlights xD Also Blake having her leg raised and the fact that you can literally hear the lip suction break, when the two notice everyone looking at them xD Oh and I think the reason they haven't said their feelings is because of their own self-doubts that weren't helped by Harriet and Elm in v7 mocking the idea of something more between teammates; also pretty much confirmed on Yang's end via All That Matters cause that song is straight up doubt-city. Love the reaction xD
Thank you so much for this incredible comment! I couldn't agree more. Their relationship has been beautifully developed through the seasons. I may have joked about them taking a long time to get together, but actually I think the pacing was perfect. They both had their own personal character arcs to go through, as well as the different stages in their relationship. This scene was gorgeous, and dare I say, perfect. I couldn't imagine the CRWBY making a better confession scene for these two. Thanks for watching! 😄

I've just been arguing with certain types that refuse to acknowledge anything ever between them and ignoring canon and facts, because they can't stand Bees; so in a praising them in essay form manner. People that took issue with Yang saying Blake never gives up, cause she didn't y'know die for Adam cause that's totally a sane mindset and human response towards an abuse survivor character or message to send irl survivors -.- But anyway not going to bring that garbage here ^^ Them having their individual character arcs is especially so good cause of it being highlighted by Renora not doing that beforehand. So now Nora is is having her journey to find that now; while Bees already did it. Nora also tried to rush things, while BB have taken their time and naturally progressed to girlfriend status. I love Renora and their convo in v8 was such a breath of maturity in romance in media, cause usually a female just being a love interest would be treated as perfectly fine. Instead of going "wait no, she deserves to be her own character too". I can't wait to see those two come back together too whenever it happens. Exactly, which is so baffling when seeing people saying its disappointing. Like how? How could anything be better than the love letter to the ship that was on display? But there's just some people even among LGBT+ that will never be satisfied. ofc I'm always glad to run cross positive RWBY vids.
Weiss with daddy issues and Ruby(and Yang) with mommy issues :D Jaune gave up chasing Weiss after the dance in the early volumes :) I don't know if you noticed it, when Weiss saw Atlas falling the music changed to the end of Volume 8, when the same scene played out. When Jaune looked to the sky the first 2 blue falling stars were Alyx and Lewis (how interesting Lewis Carol wrote the Alice in Wonderland books ;) The same blue stars are in the intro too at some point, I think.
I didn't clock the music change when Weiss saw Atlas; thanks for pointing that out! I did figure out that the two stars were Alyx and Lewis - it's so cool that they made a reference to the author there, and make me wonder if the brother made it out after all.

@@Dare_to_Nerd of our 8 heroes, Weiss matches my personality and temperament also, while Ruby is my favorite. Of course I disliked Weiss in volume 1. And Weiss isn't icy now, but her disregard for partner's pain cuts deeply.
