Bungalow City Firehouse 23 construction advances into summer 

With its roofing and brick façade now in place, construction of Bungalow City Firehouse 23 is advancing toward an expected opening in early 2025. The station, at 5619 Nine Mile Road, will serve Highland Springs and other areas of eastern Henrico County.
Drone video from June shows the 14,119-square-foot firehouse on its 5-acre site at Nine Mile and Westover Road. The station and Staples Mill Firehouse 20, which opened in January 2023, were funded through Henrico's voter-approved 2016 bond referendum.
Firehouse 23 will feature three drive-thru apparatus bays as well as individual bunk rooms and space for training and administrative functions.
