I dunno what’s worse - the fact that a DoD employee downloaded cheats for a video game on a company machine (assuming it’s not a personal machine if they were able to access some of those private portal pages) OR that a DoD employee let their kid have access to that machine….

Bungie really doing wonders for the entire gaming community with this, id say more and more cheat developers will be too afraid to even try.

Oh - I used to work with IT people at the VA hospitals - trust me, that's tame if even a DoD or military personnel downloaded that. Seriously tame compared to some of the things they would find.

DoD member here. What likely happened is that this machine the cheats were found on was a personal computer used by the parents and child. Someone, whether parent or kid, downloaded the cheats onto the computer. Then using a Common Access Card (CAC) Reader, which all DoD IDs use to access government websites like MHS Genesis, the parent logged on to view information on MHS Genesis. This information was then logged in the cheat program. Definitely no bueno. DoD cyber training says do not do stuff like this, so I really hope it's the kid.

They need to start going after the people using the cheats as well. It would be hilarious to see 9-year-old Timmy's parents slammed with a lawsuit, have their name dragged through the mud, and end up losing thousands of dollars cause their kid was a useless cheater... or some dumb-fuck college kid having to use his student loans and sell his car to pay for his crimes. Even if Bungie never won those lawsuits, the people would end up having to blow thousands on lawyer's fees and would be much less likely to cheat again. To be completely honest, I would go buy some overpriced cosmetics if I saw this shit happen.
