Most likely you were watching a different race. Mo give himself too much to do but it was perhaps one of his better races to have almost reeled in the Boss!
I've seen this video dozens of times now, and yet I still get excited watching the men's finish, as if somehow it will end up differently. This has to be one of the most exciting finishes of any road race; it's a shame this race isn't getting more recognition.
I love the fact that this era we are living in offers us the opportunity to watch the very best in the world perform at top level. These athletes/human beings motivates me like nothing else. Thank you youtube and technology.
Truly amazing race...the grit from Farah not giving up, and the amazing relaxed speed of Bekele, smiling to himself while he crushes the last mile...this is the best road racing has to offer.
@@ericmaldonado-avendano705 I wouldn’t say top two. Farah was a double Olympic champion but only had I believe 2 world records. Haile Would have had a field day with him in his prime. 27 world records. Just saying that yeah Mo-farah is definitely one of the fastest but because someone recently broke the 5k time and 10k track world records. Farahs 5k is ranked 41th place. While Bekele is 2nd and Haile is 3rd place. Mo-Farah 10k time is ranked 18th place. While Bekele is 2nd and Haile is 3rd fastest of all time. Mo-Farah is a top of all time but I definitely wouldn’t classify him top 5.
I came back to watch this again after i heard Kenenisa Bekele is running in the 2019 Berlin Marathon! Amazing, I didn't think he would still be competing after all the injuries.
Good run down by Mo but you could tell at the end that Bekele was actually just relaxing until he saw that he had to run harder and he just started smiling because he knew he could just take off whenever he wanted. He is the king. Mo had a great track career but he will never be as great as Bekele. And Haile put in a good run for being so much older than these guys. What a field. And the women's race had Defar and Dibaba behind Jeptoo. Pretty start studded event.
I am so proud of the 2 of my heroes....Big respect to Haile he was old that time and always love kenenisa Bekele just who is created to be the king of long distance running
In order to win marathon i have to stop watching these videos...but these are motivation for me...i shall waste my 10min on every day....we need motivation too!
3 years ago bekele demolished all competition in everything, so bekele. he's slowly beginning to return to form after 2 years of on and off injuries, and when he's on top form he's untouchable.
the handing over of the old man to his young Ethiopian compatriot ... the attack on Bekele at just the right time ... the rain ... hunting down to the line ... this race is legendary ..
A team effort - Haile takes the sting out of Farah with a 4.21 mile while Bekele rests for 30min. Then Bekele breaks on a downhill where he excels - no braking in his style. As Bekele surges, Haile slows Mo and then steps aside to remove wind shelter for Farah. In the last 400, Bekele just accelerates to the same pace and as Farah gets to his shoulder, he kicks again for a comfortable perfect win. Mo's close on Kenenisa is amazing, but the true test is the World XC, Bekele 5 x in a row, Mo = 0
amazing how they sprinted so hard but recovered instantly today 26 sept 2016 kb WON BERLIN marathon 3 seconds off wr 2:03:03 to become the third-fastest of all time over 26.2.
Mo wad a great athlete but Kenenisa was on a different level. Had it not been for injuries that prevented him to compete at his best , he would have won more titles.
At this race Haile Gebrselassie showed that he is better than Bekele and Mo Farah, because he was 10 years older than them and the finishing time for the first three runners is really very close.
