People, listen to your gut, it will lead you in the right direction. Last year, a friend of mine was going through really hard times. She was effectively homeless. She had texted me to meet up and I said I would buy her dinner. I was sitting in my rental van where she wanted to meet me, and she kept badgering me to go somewhere else to get her. Almost relentlessly bugging me about it. I kept asking her why, she wouldn’t answer. I wouldn’t go and I ended up just heading home. A few weeks later I learned through a mutual friend that she was diagnosed with extreme schizophrenia a year prior and ended up getting arrested for stabbing somebody several times just a few days after her and I were supposed to meet. I live my life terrified it'll happen again, though therapy and meds help. But even with all the good in my life, I would have given it all away to increase the chances of them getting put in jail. It took years before my brain would let me stop blaming myself. I had to learn about the brain and how the language center of your brain literally turns off with traumatic events. IF I get S.A. again - I'll do what I can to catch them since I'm no longer a child. BUT living in Texas USA, I know that I'll probably end up killing myself after they do nothing to catch the offender. So I for sure will leave my dead body outside of the police station in whatever county the attack happens. Maybe the more that happens, the more they'll take those crimes seriously, but i doubt it. Can't have laws that might backfire on the lawmakers. Death is worse for those left behind. Torture is worse for those who have been through it.

It wasn't love to begin with. Abusers like her just use others as accessories and punching bags; they use people, rather than love them. I wonder what made her victim vulnerable to accepting abuse. Most people would walk out the minute it started. When people stay, the abuser feels more and more entitled to them over time, and they feel more "ripped off" and wronged, when they leave. You took their THING from them, when you leave. It's so dangerous to leave once they feel they own you, and abuse victims who stay don't understand that you can never, ever safely go back.

What I find ironic is how much the result of their plan diametrically opposed the intent. They wanted to destroy Brandy, to erase her from their lives and completely annihilate her existence. But in doing what they did, they immortalised her in the memory of everyone nearby and instead of destroying her, they made her into an ideal that no murder could destroy, and all this with their own lives as sacrifice. In a way, they were the architects of their own worst case scenarios.

Here is a brief description: Peter Falconio was a British tourist who disappeared in a remote part of the Stuart Highway near Barrow Creek in the Northern Territory of Australia on the evening of 14 July 2001, while travelling with his girlfriend Joanne Lees. My sister and I are the babies of the family and the only girls. That, coupled with a “near miss” situation as kids (prompting our move to the USA) our dad was/is especially paranoid about our safety-and some of the best advice he gave all of us kids, about “trusting our gut no matter what,” was… *”No matter what the situation is, if it REALLY doesn’t feel right-BAIL!! Because it’s better to have a moment of embarrassment, miss out on a potential job/housing/education/romantic opportunity, or to have people possibly think you’re weird and talk shit about you…than for you to be dead and miss out on EVERYTHING!!.”* I still heed that advice every day.❤️ I hate that it’s a necessity to learn these types of lessons and I wish we lived in a world where beautiful souls like Brandy could still be here and were always m safe. As many other have said, if you feel something is wrong then turn around and listen to your gut, but also another thing to keep in mind is to be aware of the other person's demeanor. If a person you knew were mad at you, or you knew they were dating someone who didn't like you, and suddenly they invite you over to meet up, then don't go. If you feel like you have to go, make sure you go meet them in a public place and make sure you have someone else with you. It's very suspicious to see someone who dislikes you a lot suddenly turn around and say they want to meet up and make it up to you. That's a huge red flag.
