After using many bike trailers over the years, I am convinced that the Burley Bee bike trailer is the best bang-for-buck trailer on the market for just around $300.
This video is a short review of the best bike trailer for the money: the Burley Bee.

I've been using our Burley trailer for 10 years now. It's one of the best purchases I've made.

Is there any ways to convert it into a Stroller? As far as I understand you can't adapt any accessories like a Front Wheel or a Tow Bar. Any help is welcome!

The schwinn joyrider is up to 489.99 now. I definition would have bought for 350 dollars but now I'm reconsidering.

Second the Schwinn Joy Rider love... We took ours on the first ride today and it was excellent, much smoother than my old Allen steel trailer and my son loved it.

So glad to hear that! Did you find that the added weight was a significant factor for you? Or did you not really notice? I imagine the Joyrider is a bit heavier than the Allen.

Your videos helped me buy this model, thank you! Might be a dumb question but how do you lock/make sure it won't be stolen when you leave it on the parking lot?
@BikeGrowRich
@BikeGrowRich 2 года назад
If you don't have a bike lock, take one wheel off! And place it in the trailer. Chances are slim that someone would still steal i

I bought the Burley Bee for my Bad Boy 1 (which has disc brakes) before watching this video ... Does the attachment that you mentioned come with the Burley Bee or do I need to order it separately?
@BikeGrowRich
@BikeGrowRich 2 года назад
Hey Tex, the Burley Bee does not come with the attachment. I have another video here that explains where to get the right adapter for your disc brakes.

Can you fit a 46-inch tall kid in the Burley Bee?

Can you take the seats out and have it all open? Thinking of getting one for our dog.

Hi Zak, if you are looking for a dog-specific bike trailer, I review a few solid options here: www.biketrailerplanet.com/can-dog-ride-bike-trailer/ I have not seen a bike trailer that can completely remove the seats.

Thanks for this review. I wished I had watched it before buying The Bee and had looked more closely at the Schwinn Joy Rider. I have a disc brake bike with a thru axel and did end up spending the money to make it work.

Thanks Steve, I feel you with the disc brakes. The industry is catching up little by little. I just hope to help people like you and I make the best decision a for our fams :)

Also, Schwinn recently upped the price of the Joyrider, which is something to consider (maybe you dodged that bullet). I still think it's well worth the money.

What did you have to do to make the burley work with a disc brake bike? I was just about to order the burley and a trek fx2 which has disc brakes
@BroncoPH
@BroncoPH 3 года назад
@@joinmyhitlistx8099 The key is the type of rear axel you have, thru axel or quick release. If you have a thru axel (common on most new bikes w/ disc brakes) you'll need the adapter. If you have a quick release you may be ok with the standard Burley hardware. I took a quick look at FX2 (nice looking bike) and I can't really tell from Trek's website. Might be worth calling the bike shop and confirming. If you do need the adapter, I purchased mine through Amazon. Burley gives a lot of details in their listing: www.amazon.com/Burley-Design-960122-Thru-Axle/dp/B01MXSXD7S/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3FDTAOPXESNYH&dchild=1&keywords=burley+bee+thru+axle+adapter&qid=1617889035&sprefix=burley+bee+th%2Caps%2C188&sr=8-1

Thank you for this videos, they are very helpful. I really like the Schwinn, I have a 2 year old, maybe in the future having another one 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m in between these two trailers, I don’t know which one to choose. The reason that I like the schwinn is because of the seats, they look so comfortable. What I don’t like is the price haha , the weight, the size Right know I have an Instep and I’m so hating it, I don’t think my boy is comfortable at all, the other day I went for a ride and it folded itself while riding, thank God I was going really slow, also my boy complains a lot, I ride around 12 miles 5 days a week. I don’t even want to mention the wheels 😠 the way that I take is full of holes and bumps it feels horrible On the other hand I don’t like the burley being too complicated to attach it.

Hey there, it's great hearing from you and thanks for explaining. Based on what you shared, my simple answer would be: If you want a stroller-convertible trailer, get the Schwinn Joyrider. If you don't mind not having a stroller. then the Burley Bee is the best option. In terms of price ranges, those two options are the best bang-for-buck trailers you will find. I feel you regarding the price, and I really do believe the Joyrider is a good investment. We use it almost daily as a stroller and trailer, and my kids are just about 7 and 5 years old.

Thanks for the review. With the Burley Bee, the trailer doesn't provide a good support for my 2yr old. She just sinks in and doesn't enjoy the ride.

For the Money? You mean that there are Other bicycle trailers out there at Higher Price that don't match up to this trailer? That's what you are saying. Name those higher priced trailers, and explain why they fall short of your standards. If you can inform the world of the BEST trailer, then the world needs to hear all the details of your discovery., including where the higher priced trailers fail.

OP is being super gracious here. Bike trailers aren't some kind of hyper competitive market where you have tens of options at all price points from $100 - $1,000. You do, however, have a collection of bargain models at or below $200, a couple mid-level models between $200 and $400 (The Bee), and then a +$400 set of models that shockingly don't also come with an espresso machine. Do yourself a favor and look up the Thule Chariot (which he literally reviewed) and see if feature for feature you don't suddenly see The Bee as a decent option. This was a fantastic review that I thought did a great job of highlighting not why you might want to buy the Bee over the $1,000 Thule (presumably because you don't also have a Lamborghini) but more importantly why the $300 investment is worth it compared to a cheaper model with features like plastic wheels.

@@BroncoPH The Burley Bee single seater is going for around $248 on Amazon, 8/28/21 I just took my son for a two hour ride in one rental unit and he loved it. So smooth even on a bumpy trail, that he fell asleep.
