Burnout happens when we find ourselves completely overwhelmed by life. When we're in this state, any additional demands, perceived or otherwise, internal or external, can feel insurmountable. While I knew this intellectually, I only 'felt' it yesterday and am now focusing on creating space for my body to guide me out of this hole using the concept of 'distress tolerance' as my intellectual guide. #actuallyautistic #autistic #mentalhealth #bodylanguage #arttherapy #autismdiagnosis #burnout

Im 2 weeks into an understood burn out now. I have to supervise my recovery. I have to be my 'special interest' or I will lose hope. Getting better either is important to YOU or it isnt. Ive been there, too. I want, I need, to find a way to be happy and comfortable in MY world and with MYself. Sounds so obvious when we hear it. Its hard to do authentically. Thank you for sharing. I mean that.

Sorry to hear you are going through this too and I agree - focusing on ourselves is absolutely essential. Best of luck with your recovery also xx

When something is ajar such as when some realized the sun was not rising and falling, but rather the Earth was spinning while going around the sun. It took courage to recognize the difference. Galileo was placed under house arrest by the inquisition for the rest of his life; we are each a Galileo when seek to know ourselves.

Hi Artemis, I felt your comment about autism being a lifelong condition as if that was an epiphany wasn't helpful so I deleted it from my larger post. I am also tired of reading about you being 30 years older than me. That's lovely for you but it doesn't add any value to me. In the beginning, I felt your comments were deeply philosophical and well-considered but now I'm wondering if you are an A.I Bot. I appreciate we are all potentially autistic and socially 'awkward' but I'm just not loving the aloof nature of your interactions.

@@suddenlyautistic That I spent over 34 minutes listening to your comment and took the time and energy to respond to it and you delete it because you may disagree is not a discussion but dogma. Have you ever considered that comments are made for more than just you, but to the entire group of visitors to your web site. My remarks are an opinion and no more. Your removing them is no different than when Galileo was removed and placed under house arrest. As for your age, you are the one who mentioned your age at 49 numerous of times and I was making the point that the passage of time is not static but dynamic. That you think I might be a bot shows how paranoid you are and far from what is considered autism. Dialogue is what you should be making available and not censorship. Your attitude displays a deeper problem than autism or your listed psychological deficits. You can delete this comment, but you will not be able to delete who you are and what you do. I have removed myself from Suddenly Autistic notifications. 😕
