I never thought we were going to get an awakened Horus, and if we did, I figured it would be one of the final bosses of the series. Yet here we are... This is going to be incredible. Can't wait to see Brin and Gildun too!
@@theinspiredgamer1949 actually given the new threat, I picture Aloy potentially using the faro machines (modified to not destroy the planet) in her army rather than that of the enemy.
I doubt this horus will be fully operational. The things been sitting exposed to the elements since gaia deactivated it. I know its got a self-repair function, but that much time and corrosion would take time to fix itself.
I will be up for some really volcanic hellscapes, like zero vegetation, brand new land-masses popped up, maybe a tech bunker that’s half consumed, like running around on Fagradalsfjall in Iceland…
When we last met Gildun, I believe he was trying to get at a mirror. A mirror, of course, is a piece of glass with a silver backing. Perhaps he went to the Burning Shores seeking rumors of a "silver screen?"
On talanas quest line when u go to that dam he has scroll he left there where he mentions how he met aloy in the frozen wilds and hopes she was there to help him again, then at the end of the scroll he said that he's off to the burning shore. Guerilla already foreshadowed in the base game that u will be seeing him in the dlc.. The scroll is called "a dam shame".
It's a shame we can't get a hold of CYRAN! She controls volcanic activity, she could have some insight also I miss her and I want her to beable to communicate with GAIA!
Aloy need to go back there anyway as she is in need of every possible help she can get, getting Cyan and Gaia to talk would be a major boo. And maybe Cyan can help Gaia know more about hephaestus.
Looking forward to the Horus and the Hollywood exploration. Personally hoping there's an Easter Egg involving Animaniacs (maybe Aloy can check their water tower and find a datapoint LOL).
fun bit of info: Grateful Dead sone, Estimated Prophet has a lyric that goes... "California, preaching on the Burning Shore" the "idea" of a Burning Shore is a theme in the lore of California in general.
That Quen on the Sunwing with Aloy in the game art is wearing a Diviner Focus: if it’s not Alva (who’s currently my best guess), then that means the Quen have sent over another fleet from their homeland.
I hope this DLC will give us more lore on the Quen. I’m very intrigued by their tribe and curious to know how much knowledge they learned from their Focuses. Also this is the first tribe we encounter that is NOT descended from the Nora. They come from a different cradle facility across the ocean, so I’m very curious to know how big their civilization is and how far does it expand to.
I think Hephaestus awakens/controls the Horus. Probably the DLC will again focus on capturing him and him trying desperately to avoid it. Now armed with the knowledge from the Apollo database and Zeniths, maybe he also tries to awaken and control other Faro machines to make our DLC experience miserable.
The zenith ship still has the apollo database hephaestus just had the time of it's life in the very fast 3d printers of the zeniths and presumably has the spectre/prime blueprints.
@@ktmmatt7243 Shadow Carja lost Hades, they can't activate Horus now, it's more likely Hephaestus who is doing it because it's Pissed and hiding from Aloy.
So if we’re fighting a Horus as a boss in this dlc just imagine what they’ve got cooked up in the third and final game perhaps even a Zenith version of a Horus like how the Spectres are basically much more advanced versions of the Scarab or something else entirely.
I wonder if the awakening of the Horus might some how be connected to the signal Aloy's sent to activate the EMP weapons of Horus titans at the end of the Forbidden West game.
I doubt it. Those EMP weapons are just power cells that detonate when they’re dropped. I think it would take more than just one signal to wake a Horus up. My money is on the Quen poking around things they shouldn’t
Yesterday HFW might've not won anything but we as a community gained a LOT. I wonder if Burning Shores will be about unraveling the mystery of Elysium or we will go after our other lost subordinate functions.

I’m so excited, LA is my favorite setting for video games, and now its in one of my favorite games! Thank you RSQ for being here, with us, to hype and analyze all this, in mass media horizon always overshadowed and underestimated, but because places like this channel I’m know I’m not a psycho, not alone, and there’s a lot of people who love horizon universe like me ❤️
I honestly have been looking forward to this for one reason and one reason alone. Brin. He is without question my favorite character from the 1st game. As long as he makes an appearance AND has more blood visions to tell, I will be a very happy gamer :)
The most exciting thing about seeing this DLC trailer was knowing I'd see an update from your channel about it!! Loved the analyses. I had totally forgotten Gildun mentioned the Burning Shores and that makes me SO excited because he was definitely a favorite. I was really sad Horizon got snubbed at the Game Awards (no hate for the winners though) but this announcement helped soften the blow a little. I can't WAIT.
I was saddened that HFW didn't win either.. However, I knew GoWR and ER would sweep the major awards (due to the constant praise since their release). Though I'm pleased that Stray won, so that made me happy.
Sona has some real beef with the wider world. Daughter killed by rogue Carja, son killed by rogue Space Humans, both happened because Nemesis went full Terminator.
I can see Sona's grandchild being brought to her to keep safe. I don't think Sona will ever leave her home again though. Sona was one of the only real fighters left alive after zero dawn. I will be really disappointed if there isn't a way Sona is told about everything.
There's a cool little detail in a scroll named "a dam shame" at the dam that your were lead to on talanas side quest, where Gildun, from the frozen wilds dlc, talks about how he met u and that he's off to the burning shore. No doubt Foreshadowing a future quest.

@@mrpopo5097 It's not that he's important it is that he's an interesting character. He's not what you would call a good guy but he seems to have reformed after his encounters with Aloy and I think that is powerful.
Thank you guys so much for this! It's been a while, I have some catching up to do in the videos... So nice to watch you guys again! Love your videos as usual.
"The Good Horus" Theory... (+Capturing/Replacing Hephaestus) The Horus does, after all, have the ability to "mass-produce machines". It'd be pretty ironic if the machines responsible for life's annihilation were, in the end, also responsible for its salvation. A Horus would probably be good in a fight against Nemesis. So the red eye might just be part of a reboot sequence to add tension to the cutscene. I'm pretty sure neither Aloy nor Slyens (nor the audience, us) has ever rebooted one of these before. So, in that situation, the narrative team at Guerrilla would definitely try to make you think it's gonna go cray cray for a second. And then it stops. Further more, the conversation(s) between Aloy and Sylens about doing this would possibly mirror that of Sobeck's and Faro's relationship. Sylens is gonna say, "Hey, I got an idea... but it involves that thing." (Sylens points at the Horus) "Are you out of your mind!?!?! No more games, Sylens!!" Aloy screams, while immediately regretting convincing Sylens to stay. And they get all into their whole "trust" thing. Also, that's a Chariot Line model, and their eyes are always red. Also also, it's probably Vast Silver or GAIA rebooting it. I did guess correctly that Far Zenith and the Odyssey would be integral to the HFW. But I'm also wrong a lot, so... there's that. But I swear to god, if I'm right then I better get 100% of the credit!
It is interesting that there wasn't any mention of the size of the DLC. I would be curious as to how long it will be. Also, considering that the entry point for the burning shores will probably be Hoover Dam, one wonders if there will be any other DLC as there is that curious trail that leads to that building off the map west of Barren Light.
Maybe to the Claim? I dunno what else they could add that was already inland without adding a whole ‘nother unmentioned tribe. Even the Banuk were a known entity before Frozen Wilds. So far, the only tribe we haven’t actually visited is the Oseram. I don’t count the Quen because we have Landfall, and their homeland is across the Pacific. And Aloy should never visit their homeland except in disguise.
My bet is this Horus will be used to create an army of faro robots to take on nemesis somehow. I’m not sure how they’d manage to control them but if they can but it would be a nice mirror in that the very things that doomed the world is the same thing that eventually saves it. Or I’m completely wrong haha.
SPOILERS i feel like if there is a reveal, it will be vast silver with a body I’m also wondering if its Heph or Nemesis that woke the horus or msybe even Aloy accidentally
I'm dying to see VS play a role sometime. That plot that put the FZ zoo crew in TFW was a train wreck. I want to see a remake of The Forbidden West with Vast Silver playing it's role done.
I was absolutely stunned when I saw the Horus at the end and had to watch it again to make sure I wasn't dreaming. I cannot wait to see it in the game.
So excited!! Dream come true! I was starting to doubt that we'd get an expansion. Also, looks like Aloy is wearing some Quen armor which is great because I've been wanting that since the first time I saw Alva!
Oh, I had no idea the trailer was out. That's a reminder going into my calendar for April. The DLC potentially being a PS5 exclusive is unfortunate for many sure, but thank God I managed to get one earlier this year for my 40th birthday. Time to replay the game on the PS5.
Its tech a thousand years out of date at this point, its only virtue is sheer size and manufacturing capability but securing Hephaestus would give you something better in every possible respect.
@@cecarter10 lol, I am with you. Gaia plus Minerva might be enough to control a Horus to create machines beneficial to the environment. It could very well be a mission to grab an intact Horus for Gaia. We used grimhorn? control module to repair the plowhorns, so why couldn't we use a Horus to grab control or make one of those spider machines to control ones out in the wild like Hades did? Grabbing a Horus doesn't have to be a bad thing.
It would be interesting if we were able to take control of that Horus. Even if it didn't have the ability to manufacture machines it might be able to function as a seagoing ship. (Though of course there's some question about whether or not a Horus specifically can swim.)
I think we will but of course don't know. I think this because of that huge castle in the northeastern part of the FW map combined with the nearby sword in the stone Easter egg. I think it's a reference to the "Once and Future King" - though in this case rather than King Arthur it would be exploring the fate of that missing Carja king whose name I can't remember but might look up later.
After watching the trailer and thinking on it for a few days I think Hephaestus might be inside the Horus. Given all the trouble it's gotten from Aloy and the others it might be feeling vulnerable. A Horus is a self contained machine manufacturing plant surrounded by armor and weapons. This Horus may have had an intact receiver and Hephaestus might have known about it from it's time connect to the cauldron network. So it might not be as bad as the Faro swarm waking up but still bad enough.
Aloy hitting the red carpet in hollywood adorned in Quen armour… Id better choose her face paint wisely😅 Oscar material from Guerrilla Games in this DLC
i hope you know how much horizon fans appreciate you and your channel! i’m autistic and have taken a huuuge interest in the lore of the game. so your videos are my fav things to watch on repeat!
I'm super stoked on the prospect of fighting a Horus Titan. It would also be super cool if they added in the ability to use the tremortusk as a mount, seeing as enemies manage to do so and you can override them already. I think they might be looking to add aerial combat into the mix though given that concept art. If they can pull off aerial ranged combat, I could see how that would be perfect for fighting the Horus.
Severely disappointed that Guerilla and Sony chose not to continue HFW on both PS4 and PS5. Since PS5 is way out of my price range, when it's in supply, I guess I won't be watching any more of your awesome videos that may contain spoilers for the DLC. I just can't understand why they would leave potential revenue on the table. According to Joraptor as much as 30% of the UK Horizon fans bought the PS4 version. If those numbers hold true in the US, why would the throw away millions of dollars over a few improvements to the game? I look forward to the Forbidden West videos that don't spoil the DLC and I will always be a fan of your incredibly hard work to to bring the to us.
I would imagine that the PS4's hardware isn't capable of keeping up with fullest potential of the PS5's hardware when running the game engine. Having both a PS4 and PS5, and playing the game on both, it does make me a little sad that I won't be able to play the DLC on the PS4 as well.
@@timgreen6072 I had very few issues with the game on PS4, and I have the base model not the pro. I did have to clear some memory space, but that was about it.
@@forrestvanhook4586 When I talk about the hardware, I'm referring to the CPU and GPU. Currently the CPU in the PS4 is a custom AMD Jaguar, which is an 8 core chip that was released in mid 2013 and has since been discontinued. It's very likely that the devs decided to forgo porting the Burning Shores DLC to the PS4 because they felt that the 8 year old Jaguar Processors would be unable to handle the game engine pushing the hardware beyond its limitations.
@@timgreen6072 Then they shouldn't have insisted on telling a story that can't run on the hardware that the game it's based on can use. They could have told any story. They chose this one.

@@johnpaulporrelli6208 I'm sure that's the case. But that's not fair for the PS4 gamers that can't afford a PS5 or for pc gamers that don't want to change console.
This looks awesome. Sure wish I could play it. Sure wish the devs had thought "Maybe we should make an expansion that works on the same platform the base game works on." Want to make something that "moves forward" technologically? Make it a whole release. Doing otherwise is basically deceiving your customers in today's gaming environment.
It's unimaginable to fight a horus from the ground. the bord is set, the pieces are moving. Sunwing airborn mounted Horus tentacle evading fights are incoming. I cant wait to use weapons while mounted on the sungwing
I think the main goal of Burning Shores won’t be to stop the Horus, but to override it. I think Guerrilla has said they plan on making Horizon a trilogy. After the cliff hanger of Nemesis in Forbidden West, This whole DLC seems like it’s going to be getting ready for the arrival. I think that’s why Aloy heads to LA. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of other people around the burning shores.
I wonder what the third DLC, if there will be one with the last game, will be called? To go with the fire and ice/winter and summer theme they have going? I guess maybe a fall type theme?
I was so excited to unlock the sunwing so i could fly around all the horus' in the map and gawk at their majesty, i always wished there was some recording of them operating in the old world so to see it in game is all i want
Honestly, what makes everyone so confident that the Horus is gonna be hostile?? Seems to me like it might be a stepping stone on the path towards capturing/destroying (but probably more like replacing (with VS?)) Hephaestus. Maybe... Probably not.

sunwing implies this is after the end of the game or at least after she gets to ride sunwings, but if sylens is involved, according to the actor, that would imply it's after she hooks up with sylens? Maybe even a character.
I posted an interesting theory I had on the reactovation of the Metal Devil, I'll copy the comment below with a spoiler warning below the threshold of course, if you do happen to read, lemme know what you think! So I know we've been made to fear them, and can only expect bad things from a reactivated horus, **SPOILERS BELOW** but we forget that we have full control of Gaia now (bar 2 sub functions) which includes Minerva - what if we use minerva to take control of a metal devil as a last ditch act of last resort for a big bad, such as the start of Nemesis' invasion. It has the ability to do so now that it cracked the code nearly a millennia ago, and it can override the 'glitch' to shut them down, or in this theory, control them for ourselves as a last resort for something. Just a theory though, i do for one welcome a horus as a looming threat overall
It's interesting how you came up with this theory for the metal devil when at one point we clearly see silence capture Hades again and start walking towards a metal devil

Hey RSQ 😊 Awesome video! We missed you, hope you are alright. I have a question. Considering your knowledge of Horizon Lore, for how long do you think HZD's adventure unfolds? months? Year? More? Thanks ❤
Thanks so much 😁 Well the time between the first and second game is six months, and I'd be inclined to think the 3rd game will be some months after Forbidden West 👍
@@RandomSideQuest yes. what I mean is, what is your best guess for how much time it takes to Aloy go from the Proving to the final battle of Meridian? I’m under the impression that it takes some months, but I would like to know your opinion.
@@danielemoreira1168 I calculated HZD as something around three months based on the ~43min day/night cycle measured against the average completionist playthrough length from various sources (as Erend listening to Concrete Beach Party in the HFW critical path suggests completionist is canon). Three months over late-ish summer. This would make the 'six months later' start date for HFW sometime in early spring of the following year... which feels like it works.
@@maxgrieveI've reached the same conclusion and agree with you. Thank you, RSQ. 💛 We make all kind of calculations, Horizon community is awesome, 😃 we do love lore. I asked you this because I'm revisiting the timeline after HFW. You know that some people believe Aloy is 18 years old back in HZD, and some believe she is 19 years old. I'm trying to check if the timeline allows both sides to be right. So I asked myself if she could be 18y at the Proving, and 19y by the time of the final battle. I'm still working on it, but it feels wrong.. too much time. If your have more thoughts on it, please share. Thank you so much. 😄
@@danielemoreira1168 I agree the timeline would be a really interesting video for RSQ to cover! I feel like the 18yo theory is the correct one - i.e. Aloy turns 18 in April of that year, then the annual running of the Proving likely happens somewhere around the summer solstice. She mentions being shunned for 18 years to Teersa, while later on Sylens notes the destruction of GAIA Prime was about 19 years ago (which we know happened in August of the year before Aloy's birth); Aloy then rounds this second number up to 20 years during the events of HFW the following year. There's a wiki somewhere out there with a timeline on it, but I'm pretty sure they have the years of HZD/HFW wrong. Would love to hear RSQ's definitive take!
I think Hephaestus would definitely try to end the Horus if it could, since the Horus would start „stealing“ the machines from the terraforming system auswell as destroying those which stand in its way. It’s scary to think about what Hephaestus would build to destroy a Horus…
we have already been given Subtle "hints" about the location remember the state of play of 27 May 2021 in wich aloy received a device from erend that when activated shows the location of los angeles
Would I find really funny about this version of Los Angeles is that the capitol records building was torn down years ago the old one it’s not like that anymore. It’s so funny that they would think that it would still be there even though it was torn down before this game was made any of them just a little silly.
I knew this was coming cause of the leaks but to see that Horus moving around at the end of the trailer was really cool. Glad I just got a ps5 a few weeks ago 😅 It does look like the person on the Sunwing with Aloy is trying to attack her seeing as how both her and Aloy have their spears ready and they're both standing up. Might be a person that starts out as an enemy but then becomes an ally after some kind of story event. Cause that design doesn't look like an ordinary enemy. Especially the long hair
I had a literally breakdown when I saw the Horus, I put my IPad down and bawled my eyes out into a towel in my bathroom XD haha. The thing is just this morning I had said I really wanted to see a Horus ln action to see what it moves and attacks like and than I saw the trailer and emotionally I broke down completely.
