As a Kid when this movie franchise came out I've always loved it, & now at 49 Burt & the Trans Am will forever be tied together I've always loved burts movies more so the Bandit movies R.I.P. Legend Mr. Reynold's 🕊️🙏
One of the nicest people I ever met in my life. I had the pleasure to meet him, as I was working across the canal from the property he owned in St. Lucie Florida all those years ago! He was sitting on wicker furniture with Sally Field and Dom DeLouise and I walked up and spoke with him and Sally and Mr.D . He had a crazy laugh and was very at ease. You could see Burt and Sally were crazy about each other. And Mr. DeLouise was just CRAZY! What wonderful memories to have. God Speed Burt. You were an actor, and not super human , like some would have you. I don't hold your human errors against you at all!
*Nigling* - None that I know of... T-tops are a thing of the past. I think its because of safety concerns/regulations... (which is weird 'cuz they still make convertibles) or because they get old and leak. I would love to have them... The '02 WS6 is one of my dream cars, but I dont yet have enough disposable income to buy one. :(

You've gotta love Burt Reynolds. He's the man that drove the coolest car and got the hottest girls throughout that decade. If you look up the definition of the word cool in the dictionary it should have a picture of Burt next to it.
I would barbecue my ass in molasses for one of those! I did own a '77 TA and I must say, that car handled like a dream. Many conversions look cool. I remember seeing this concept a while ago. This design is the one! So says me and Burt Reynolds!

In the end - which hopefully will be a long time away - Burt Reynolds will be recognized for the talent that he truly is. Like John Wayne, James Garner, or Steve McQueen, Mr. Reynolds is a great actor and a real man's man - and though some of his movies found him typecast or badly directed, he won an Oscar for "Boogie Nights", and did stunning work in dramatic pieces like "Deliverance" and "The Longest Yard". Every man wanted to be him - and by turn, everyone want that car. Like "Dawn of the Dead", in which a shopping mall became a character in the story, one cannot help but see that the Trans Am is as important as any of the characters. Seriously, can anyone picture this movie with anything other than this car? The 77 and 78 Pontiac Trans Ams - differing only in the shape of the grill, with the 77 being hexagons and the 78 being diamonds - had every single proportion correct. There wasn't an angle from which one could view this car and NOT be impressed. The new Bandit - is VERY true to the original concept, design, and execution - it should literally give the viewer shivers, and excite them in that unique way that only a car of this caliber can. This one does that. At least for me...

I worked at a Pontiac dealer from '75-'80 and loved those Trans Am's. got to drive a few of them,..especially the black ones. they may have been rated at 185 h.p. but I'm sure they were a lot more - it was during the gas "shortage" and the manufactures at the time were down playing their horsepower ratings.

ive had the nickname band1t since the day the film came out, was my handle on the CB radio, still use it to this day on most games i play lol , 1 of the most stunning cars ive ever seen, would love a RHD version to drive here in the UK

A lot of people think the name of the car in the movie was "The Bandit" but that was the name of the driver...actually, it was the C.B. handle of the driver, who was played by Burt Reynolds. The name of the car was "Trigger". It wasn't mentioned in the first film, but in the sequel, the 1979 Trans Am was called "Son of Trigger".
77' saw the movie at a drive in. In the old man " Boat" 76 Chevy Impela. in front of us were two " Bandit" cars also there. funny how you can have total recall from 40 yrs ago. Love that car and Burt made it like peanut butter and JAM!!!

sevan grigoryan they used the camaro body becuase back then the camaro and trans am were using the same platform so therefore they wanted to stick with the original roots I think it's badass
The Camaro of the 1060's and the new Camaro are popular in part to it's short and wide-track body. The same goes for Firebirds and Trans-Ams in the 1960's and mid to Late 70's and early 80's. So a Short and wide body is traditional and something that I greatly like. I hate the elongated Camaros and Firebirds/Trans-Ams of the "Knight-Rider" era.
sevan grigoryan I agree, though it kinda has to be on the same chassis and subframe as the Camaro since the were built like that from the start. just different front/rear clips and wheels for some generations. It's funny....my mom had a Camaro and my dad had a trans am/firebird

With what You Guys Have Created and given People who Love The Trans Am I had a 1976 455 4 speed Hurst shift white with red bird and interior my Brother got it brand new then my Dad drove till I got my DL I Always Love that car then years ago I watched you guys build a new one bringing back that Dream is Awesome all different varieties you are going back and doing that I had this day dream of taking my 76 building it with all the handling everything but keep the Trans Am look not flaring body some stuff I see Now in 2023 the Popularity of everything Trans Am Wow! I do wander what direction You guys will go when GM stop the Camaro have y’all made a special deal will a different a car take place I will say I Think You Guys are The Best Hands Down sometimes I look at the new car and see to much of Camaro shape but that would never stop me from Dream of owning one I know if my Dad were here we would be Loving this that is his thing going to every Chev GM dealer
