Now, we see a change and more disciplined drivers. I don't understand people arguing that the penalty is too high and it's anti-poor. It only affects violators. Those people against strict rules are the ones planning to violate them.
How about drivers that commit actually dangerous violations? Running red lights with impunity, for example? Swerving lanes dangerously? That's all too hard for MMDA, is it? Bus lane violators are easy targets with a big fat fine.
I don't believe those apprehended are paying the amount of 5K at the office. I believe they just settle it for lower amount with the traffic officers themselves. Why? Because 5K is so much painful for anybody to pay while more and more violates the bus lane.
@@SolocDolco that’s why the philipine isn't progressing, because filipinos are quick to feel sorry for people, even when they don’t respect the laws anymore. if they can’t pay the fine, then they shouldn’t break the law. as for the enforcers, you should prioritize your job and not feel sorry for those who violate the rules.

There should be collaboration between MMDA and MC Taxi wherein if they violated or disregarded traffic safety and rules this will also reflect in their MC Taxi registration. If they accumulate enough violations their operation/registration will be cancelled for a certain amount of time including the account for their MC Taxi.

There are plenty of far more inherently dangerous violations than driving in a bus lane, which causes no danger whatsoever, only inconvenience.

it amazes me how all these people can afford shelling out 5K for a violation. MMDA totally sitting on a goldmine with this one, but it's truly a necessary violation given the utter lack of discipline of a lot of Filipino motorists.

i hope the LTO can also crackdown on excessive/blinding head and fog lights. these are usually LED lights installed aftermarket that have no cutoffs. punishment would be the driver staring at them for an hour. nauuso na rin ngayon sa motor yung sabay pagflash ng ilaw sa busina. really distracting.

First of all why do you wanna commit a violation in the first place and why is it the only time you're going to follow the rules if you only see someone is watching you. Even though the penalty has been jacked-up, there are still many violators. It seems this will never end. Sad and shameful to say that Filipino's are Law abiding citizens when abroad.
