@thereluctantoutdoorsman Today Paddy and I continue walking South down the East coast of Jersey, Channel Islands. We start where we left off in Part 2, walking past Grouville No. 3 Tower (Le Hurel Tower), then pass No. 2 before skirting around the beach at Grouville No.1 Tower (La Rocque Tower). We then walk up steps to the road shortly before La Rocque, the first road we have been on since leaving Gorey Pier. We arrive at La Rocque (where the French forces landed prior to the Battle of Jersey) then head out along the pier, the southern-most point of Jersey.

Hi Tom n paddy thanks on behalf of all of us for this lovely walk around the coast ,in approx 2 016 we met a lovely lady who lived at Leroc Hazel Lake man she was deported with her family as a young girl to Germany. as her dad was not a true jersey man, Hazel has been mentioned in the jersey occupation memoirs. an amazing lady as they all were in that terrible era .thanks once again tom

Just having lunch and watching the third part. I have walked out to the oyster beds a couple of times and one time we left it late to walk back. I didn’t know at the time that the tide comes in really fast and ended up running as fast as we could. If you can remember 25 years or more ago that two ladies got caught with the tide and had to ride their horses to the top of the tower and wait for the tide to go back out. It made international news at the time so beware. Played golf this morning and getting into the swing with my dear friends driver and five wood now, but wish he was using them himself and as that plaque said Tom I feel my friend is with me on the golf course. As always enjoyed the video with yourself and lovely Paddy

Hi Nic, I hope you enjoyed your lunch! I imagine it could get a bit scary if the tide starts coming in that fast and I saw they have an emergency tower half way back from Seymour that you can scramble up if you get in trouble! I didn't know the story of the ladies with the horses so thanks for that, very interesting! I have heard it said that you are never really gone if people still think about you, so you friend is still around when you are out there playing golf.......and what a lovely way to be remembered, out on a golf course where he would have enjoyed so many good times! 👍🏻

Hi John, funnily enough it was the first time I've been on the end of it! Enjoy your good weather mate and then batten down the hatches on Friday! ⛈️⚡⛈️⚡Wow it was hot over here yesterday and today! Paddy and I did a lovely walk yesterday from St. Brelade to Corbiere. It was gorgeous out there and I'm not going to say it was too hot after all the bad weather we've had but🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞 !

Hi Tom 😊At last managed to find time to enjoy the final part and enjoyed the scenery which on this day was and as always a delight. The bus pass is going to be a saviour as possibly no more walking back to the start saving those legs for future walks.😀I understand that the Jersey Eastern Railway ran from Gorey along part of the sea wall which you walked in Part 1 then went inland ,nice commentary when around the golf course as for me never boring when it comes to golf 👍👍 still on for returning back to Jersey most probably week commencing 22nd July as I want to avoid Charlie and Camilla😄Question the War Tunnels are for sale so would it be a good thing for the Jersey Gov.to buy and make it public ? You must have been thirsty as at the pier was it you or Paddy slurping you drink 😁Great work Tom with a special mention to Paddy .

Hi Lloyd, thanks for the information......I know I should know the route of the Eastern Railway but admit I am only aware of some of it. I was surprised when I heard the War Tunnels were up for sale because I was always under the impression that they were publicly owned! 🤔It was definitely me slurping........Paddy has much better manners! Looking forward to buying you a pint mate! 👍🏻
