@thereluctantoutdoorsman Today Paddy and I continue walking South down the East coast of Jersey, Channel Islands. We start where we left off in Part 1, walking along the first few holes of Royal Jersey Golf Course. We then carry on along the sea wall past Grouville No. 5 Tower, drop down onto the beach at Grouville No. 4 Tower (Fauvic Tower) and this video ends as we round the corner at Grouville No. 3 Tower (Le Hurel Tower), without once setting foot on a road!

Marvelous that the properties don't continue right to the water's edge...wonderful to have the water-side walkway for plenty of distance for everyone to use.

Hi Bruce, yes it is nice to have the walkway. We are very lucky in Jersey as there are pathways around a lot of the coast, ideal for walkers! 👍🏻

When you reached the bench with the two posts, that walkway to the beach was only forty seconds from our house when we lived in Grouville. I remember the house with the overgrown garden was in a state of decline all those years ago and the land must be worth a fortune. I remember being in a lift with Tommy Horton at Gatwick airport and he had a driver and two woods with him and told me he was playing in a ProAm at Wentworth and what a nice man he seemed to be. Thanks for a lovely walk and more memories. I forgot to say on part one well played with a 74 good golf in anyone’s book.

Hi Nic, Wow, so close to your old place huh and great to hear the story about Tommy Horton? I once played against Tommy and the captain with a mate of mine in a captain and pro match. He was a lovely guy and we actually gave them a five or six footer for a half on the last, to half the match! It was a privilege to play with him! The 74 was a net 74.......Gross 89 I'm afraid! The conditions were dreadful with heavy wind and rain! 😁

You and your partner were generous to give a five footer and you must have played well for them to half the match. That’s the great thing about golf a gentleman’s game, most of the time.

A lovely walk tom ,i always wanted to walk to those bunkers on the golf cource ,i will be doing that in july! Thank you for bringing those beautiful views to your channel, Jersey is truly a beautiful island

Hi Brian, thank you so much for your comments. The golf club is actually built on common land and the public have access, but if you do walk on it stick to the paths and be very careful, as it is a fairly small layout with many hidden tees and flying golf balls - so it is dangerous for those who don't know their way around and from which direction the balls will be coming! 🏌🏻⛳

Some beautiful houses on that stretch, Tom😊. Imagine opening your back gate right on to the beach! Was that martello tower extended and made into a home? 😍

Hi Sheila nice huh! The tower is Grouville Bay No. 4 tower, bought by a Dr. Falla for £160 in 1905! It appears Dr. Falla developed the tower as a family home with extensions either side of it. It would be cool to see the inside of it, wouldn't it? 😮

@@thereluctantoutdoorsman Hiya Tom I have yet to book anything due trying to get away next week to Cornwall to get some time away from the recent unforeseen circumstances. It will be either from July 15th to 18th or 22nd to 25th just 3 nights either times. As I already had many times in Jersey in the past I will be looking at spending 1 day on filming with drone.Hiring a car to get around for the days there and meeting up for drinks.
