that is awesome.....I'm from Cape Town originally, so didn't grow up with pap and vleis, only ate it as porridge. I don't mind it when I visit friends from the north here in NZ. Also, I'm confused if tender chuck steak. I only use it in curries and stew. The connective tissue has to break down. I will try it sometime because that sure is tender....love your videos.......just an update, I when searching for chuck and now I'm no longer confused. What you used what chuck eye, close to the rib eye, different to chuck roast. I will ask my butcher about it.
Howzit boet. Looks bloody awesome. If you want the perfect ratio to make stywe pap. It's 1 to 2. 1 cup pap and 2 cups water. For porridge it's 1 to 4. 1 cup pap and 4 cups water. And loads of salted butter boet with both👌another awesome braai boet. 🔥🥩🎉 I also had pap en wors for supper tonight 😍
Hi Shane thanks for stopping by! That’s a great suggestion, usually I stick to my formula as well, but today I added the mieliemeel until my ancestors said:”that’s enough” 😉🤣👍🏻 Thank you! Pap en vleis is a staple in our house, with butter and sheba. Best regards👍🏻
I'm Jealous 😢 Amazing, child exposed to outdoors, no TV, phone or other shi.... Well done Ma en Pa. Food looks amazing, I'm braaing tomorrow, wors and Pap with Tomato and Onion gravy.
Ek wil nou net eending baie duidelik maak, as en nou weer gaan sit hier agter my mooi lessenaar in Sydney en ek val in julle kanaal in waar julle nou so lekker n vleisie braai en pap en sous eet dan klim ek on die airoplane en vlieg daar na julle toe en julle sal my nooit weer daar weg kry nie, en as julle nie oppas nie bring ek die hele Wallaby Rugby team saam met my want dit lyk asof hulle Braaivleis nodig het om Rugby te kan speel, LOL!
@@andreventer8734 it is most definitely but your braai steak is( chuck on the bone) not prime rib. I'm a retired master butcher and I would potjiekos that, unless it's hung well .
Hi! You should try it. Good quality chuck(not C-grade) thick cut and roasted on high heat until the meat is rare to medium. The closer you are to medium and well done the tougher the meat gets. One of my favourite cuts of beef. Best regards
@@WolkbergArtisans2019 totally agree but even in south Africa it all depends on the person that is in charge of the braai ?? I was butchery manager of pick and pay in fish hoek Cape town, when Mandela was realeased from prison, scary times my friend.
The 24th of September not a Braai day,it is called Heritage Day Just unsubscribe for calling Heritage Day "Braai day" I was following your channel..bye
