I remember watching this very episode an crying. I was 14 yrs old then. Now that I'm 34 I'm still here crying. Now for another reason....my father!!! I lost my Daddy on April 23rd he loved the Rolling Stones an this song played the day after his passing as I was leaving for work. Music is my only friend an it's honestly the only thing I can lean on.
I sat in my first studio apartment in a beanbag chair while in grad school watching this on a tiny telly that had rabbit ears. I squealed and sighed the whole time. If you were not there, you just don't know how much we all loved Gavin.
I taped this episode of Leno and watched it repeatedly in my dorm room with a huge poster of Gavin on the wall behind me. Damn, I loved him then...now, not so much.
Not being bias because I'm a Bush fan but this cover has got to be the best version I've ever heard of any artist who had attempted to cover Rolling Stones' original song. Gavin's voice is so distinctive and raw which really suited this song as well.
my first concert was Bush.. I was a senior in HS about to graduate, May 1997. Veruca salt opened for them. They played Wild Horses that night, and I've loved their version ever since.
I remember being the biggest fan of Bush at 12. I stayed up late to watch them perform, thinking they’d play one of their big hits, and they played this. My jaw dropped, totally didn’t see it coming. Awesome cover of an amazing song.
i have the same memory!!! except i was 15 and this is from my VHS tape that night :) (boy am i glad i bought a HIFI VCR, the stereo makes it oh, so worth it 20 years on).
THIS IS SOO GOOD ✨✨✨ THANK GOD FOR BUSH & GAVIN i’m just a 19 year old & i’m just so proud of my music taste 💌 cause i swear like only 15% of people my age actually know bush… anyways, long live rock & roll & the 90s vibes !! 💫
💙💙💙💙Gavin has one of the most profound voices in the music industry its a masculine energy he is absolutely heart stopping gorgeous🌹 ... Very unique and strong 🌟
I love this cover ❤ I was at this tour wrap party in Hawaii. I flew all the way from NYC ❤ I was smitten with this man and went to CBGB''s to meet him when Glycerine came out.❤
It has almost been 20 years since this performance (Preformed June 5th, 1997), and every year I wish I could go back. Just to hear this for the first time again would be a welcomed change from much of popular music these days. This will forever be, in my opinion, the best cover.
You know this is talent at its finest. We don't have music like this anymore, Now we have Adam Levin who sings through his nose and horrible rappers that sing one verse over and over again and people this that is talent. So Sad this generation wouldn't know talent if they heard it!
Searching for a awesome new band? You are in the right spot! *watch?v=kFDMJa_fZt0* Really like it! Just simply copy and paste the video URL and appreciate fantastic music!!
Shut up, we know this generation is trash when it comes to music. It's just not the time for influential music, we have our classics, they won;t ever go away. Never mind what the new kids are up to.
higly agree mates!! highly agree..90s and 60s, some 70s and some 80s of course were great but 60s and 90s were just 100% solid. think of everything great that came out of the 90s....bush, NIN , Korn, Marlyn Manson, smaingpumpking, rage against the machine, mazzy star, and soooooooo many more. even one hit wonders were great, im latino and grew up out of america in the 90s but was still able to experice the 90s latin rock decade which was completele amazing...btw, Shakira broke through the charts in 1995 and was so well and now she sold out, but still 90s were superios both english an spanish music
I love that you cant make a statement on You Tube without the average my life suck I hate everything person who is always offended by an opinion! Yes Juggaliath you would be that LOSER!!
this is dumb why am i on the brink of TEARS LOLLL. beautiful song and this is a great rendition (and HOW IS HIS VOICE LIKE THAT?? IMAGINE SOUNDING LIKE THAT??)
It always makes me sad to hear this version of this song cause the love of my life and I vhs this when it aired and we both absolutely loves it. After years and much love she passed away from stomach cancer and this version and band was always our favorite. It makes me sad but brings so much joy cause of our time together!!! I miss her so much!!! It’s been 8 years now and it sucks not having my best friend with me!!
Childhood living Is easy to do The things you wanted I bought them for you Graceless lady You know who I am You know I can't let you Slide through my hands Wild horses Couldn't drag me away Wild, wild horses Couldn't drag me away I watched you suffer A dull aching pain Now you've decided To show me the same No sweeping exit Or offstage lines Could make me feel bitter Or treat you unkind Wild horses Couldn't drag me away Wild, wild horses Couldn't drag me away I know I've dreamed you A sin and a lie I have my freedom But I don't have much…
he has an humbleness that I just love ...and he sings absolutely beautiful ...simply loved my listen and appreciate the share of this ...love his accent ..Go England :)
Brings me back to being 17 and literally having to watch Jay Leno on time cause there was no recording tv. I had a shrine on my wall of Gavin. He is a beautiful.
1997 hey? This was the very first time I had heard this song. I watched Bush on Leno that night because I was a huge fan of theirs. Knew all their songs by heart. This song is still a favorite of mine. I remember as a teen using the dial up internet (which took forever!!!) to find this online and play it on repeat. :)
I was in high school in late eighties I thought the majority of music was crap No heart, hair bands and rap, small break Trough hear and there. Then came the nineties. Man that was good stuff. Keep your ears open And your minds there is room for all good music In there. Don't deny yourself it's all for you. ENJOY!!!
Damn, I never knew this existed until just now. And I’m huge music fan and was around in the 90’s and covered a lot of Bush songs! Crazy! RIP Charlie Watts.
I remeber hearing the Stones version of this as a kid. then, back in '97, I heard this cover. I was actually really impressed. Then a few months, they performed it when I saw 'em live at a festival. Really good cover.
+Gustavo Loki Time of Peace and Plenty. Safety. The ability to follow your dreams. A different and better decade compared to this shit now. Future of promise versus bleakness.
90s, 80s 70s, 60s, pure epic songs made back then. Today? Seems like no one knows what music is anymore... Its so sad, looking at how children grow up, not knowing what music really is.
Childhood living is easy to do The things you wanted I bought them for you Graceless lady you know who I am You know I can't let you slide through my hands Wild horses couldn't drag me away Wild, wild horses couldn't drag me away I watched you suffer a dull aching pain Now you've decided to show me the same No sweeping exit or offstage lines Could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind Wild horses couldn't drag me away Wild, wild horses couldn't drag me away I know I've dreamed you a sin and a lie I have my freedom but I don't have much time Faith has been broken tears must be cried Let's do some living after we die Wild horses couldn't drag me away Wild, wild horses we'll ride them some day Wild horses couldn't drag me away Wild, wild horses we'll ride them some day
Thank you so much for this video! I have (or had) it on a VHS tape in my moms basement storage room, but I haven’t had a VCR in over a decade so it’s not much use to me now. I still remember staying up later than I should’ve, at maybe 15 years old, to watch this. I was infatuated with Gavin and couldn’t get enough of Bush....Seeing this takes me back to being 15 again, if only for a moment.
My daughter is Melonie, and I agree. totally. Mick means it too when sings. He's a Leo. Gavin's a Scorpio. I know this song personally. Thank you. But I don't hve much time this song is incredible. Blessing all blessing to Brian Jones on this day near his death. amen.
Bush's main influences were Nirvana and The Pixies. The people shitting on Kurt. Gavin really wouldnt be pleased with you. I heard, the day Kurt passed away. Gavin took it very hard. His dream was to collab with Kurt in a few songs. That would've been awesome. Seeing a tour with Bush, Seether, Nirvana, and Breaking Benjamin would've been awesome.
